for your information, if useful at all;

currently i have a miner with 2 r290 running at cryptohunger
and a miner with 2 r270 at coinium

coinium currently results in 300+ grs an hour,
cryptohunger only 25 grs an hour eventhough these are the r290 cards

something is off... results of coinium are much, much better than cryptohunger...

how is this possible?

coinium?

WHO IS THIS?

srcxxx and other team members - getting late my end - pls follow this up!!

I guess you are talking about http://www.coinium.org/pool/GRS ?

I just checked their statistics. They haven't found a single block yet, so not sure how that 300GRS per hour is going to be paid off.

Also, you can only get 300 grs per hour if you have 1/60 of total GRS hashrate, which is approx 290 MHs.

Thanks

Thanks for letting me know, I'm already working on fixing this.

Yes, the network is under a time warp attack. So someobody is solving shares "in the past" which makes DGW think that it takes too long to find a share and thus it decreases difficulty.

So there will be a fork. I've already discussed this with pool operators.
The pork will not be immediate, but since a particular block. So everyone will have time to update their wallets.

I recommend that all keep on mining. You're currently getting more GRS than you should be getting due to this attack. So it is profitable.
Unless you sell imediately, of course [in such case it'll be same profit, but you'll also dump the GRS price].

If you are investor... Now is a time to buy!

I think the price will decrease a bit more due to this attack, but once the fix is in place [which will be matter of hours/days], the number of GRS mined will quickly decrease and that will drive the price up.

Important announcement regarding the "time warp" attack.

Please follow the news here: http://groestlcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=47.0

And don't panic! Your coins are safe. Though the GRS price will probably go down temporarily due to more GRS being mined than anticipated. So time to buy if you plan to increase your GRS stash.

I am not planning to provide updates on the matter in this thread.

Hi LTCMAXMYR!

I don't see your play in this.
You started the panic and now you are still supporting this.

Shouldn't it be very good for you with your 1200mh rig?
You could be getting more GRS and selling it straight away.

Also, I don't see your 1200mh rig on any of the pools?
Is it possible that you are doing this attack?
I apologize in advance if I offended you, but having 1.2GH out of 18GH you could definitely do this.

And also you mentioned "most GRS will be dig out in few days"...
We are going to make a fork and all pool operators are onboard for this.
It'll happen soon. Also, the speed of GRS mining isn't that fast to mine all of GRS in a few days.
At most it is 2X the speed.

Thanks

This coin is up and down, but as long as a whale miner with 1400Mhs still mining in dwarfpool, I will mine this coin too  Grin
nVidia will soon steal the crown of mining from AMD in this coin.
Tongue i don't think nVidia is better, that 1200Mh is my rig, all  AMD

no,i'm always support GRS,
i use 700M rig  in dwarfpool all the days
yesterday ,i found this problem,it is not 2x,sometimes it is 10x faster,
perhaps it is a good time to dig ,but i quit

OK, I apologize again then.

Even with 10X faster I don't see how it is possible to mine all GRS in a few days.
Anyways, we'll fork shortly, so it'll be fine.

As for stopping mining GRS... Strange choice in given circumstances, but of course I respect it.
Thanks and good luck.

OK, situation update...

I worked on integrating DGWv2 into Groestlcoin wallet today. This is pretty straight forward.

Also, there is DGWv3 in Darkcoin codebase, and perhaps it is worth forking straight to v3.

But before requesting all pool operators to move to the new fork, I double checked statistics and found some disturbing info on Dwarfpool:

Looks like the time is jumping a bit.
And since dwarfpool has about 50% of hashrate (yes, again!!!) it seriously harms the DGW algo and it sets totally incorrect difficulty. Which in turn results in more blocks being found than planned.

I do not think that Dwarfpool is doing this deliberately and we are discussing this via PM with Atrides.
But I could not find any other "disturbing" statistics. I checked other pools as well, all block times are decreasing, never jumping.

It may be that Dwarfpool is connected to a particular node that is sending incorrect time or something like this.

If anyone is familiar with this - please let me know.

Also, pool operators. Please check your statistics and verify timestamps (for example suprnova timestamps are about 10 minutes off in WEB UI, but are ok in in the real wallet).

For now, I give it a bit of time for people to examine the situation and decide. Fork/not_fork, v2/v3, fix pool timestamps, etc?
And also, since it is Sunday so perhaps not all people are online.

Personally to Atrides: please double check your stratum or wallet. I know you have a lot of experience with this and I hope you can find the problem.

PS: It is very strange that both of my two pools crashed today, which resulted in hashrate redistribution.

Please always remember about 51% attack and spread the hash.

I'll be back online in about 8 hours. Please use this thread to discuss: http://groestlcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=47.0

Thanks!

To this time on the pictures: the web-page of pool takes it from wallet, not from the server.
And wallet takes from other nodes. Therefore sometimes block time is different from server time and from other blocks.
We will look at the situation during next hours, two pools are restarted (official and suprnova)
