Can someone tell me power consumption for r9 280x on stock voltage (1.2v) while mining Groestl?
I'm trying to figure if it's worth running at 1.2v and 7500kh/s or  at 1.05v and getting 6300kh/s

Hi all, I just joined and wanted to try mining this coin but I have a problem:
I cannot sync my wallet. It always tells me "6 weeks behind"...also added "groestlcoin.net add" in the debug console but nothing changed.

Any help pls?

very funny steve jobs, did not recognize you, I meant value parameters, not how to set
anyway,
I found this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hTOUdJZrKqrNDXTIbXgNvJtj_fnpECREcs-eHxaGrZc/edit#gid=0
and I set :

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer -k groestlcoin --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 -o stratum+tcp://grs.suprnova.cc:5544 -u vvvv  -p vvvv -I 20 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 8192,22400 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1550,1000 -w 256 --lookup-gap 0

a lot of mhs more then before, if someone can serve

Remember that miners can underclock memory of GPU's and also undervolt if they know what they're doing for power savings.
SO memclocks of 1500 can be reduced to 1000 if you use Trixx or Afterburner (and edit conf accordingly) without reducing hashrates

Conversely to boost hashrates you can overclock coreclock speed, say from 1050 to 1150.

I have seen mention in this thread of one user getting great performance out of a 280x whilst only pulling 100w!

Can someone tell me power consumption for r9 280x on stock voltage (1.2v) while mining Groestl?
I'm trying to figure if it's worth running at 1.2v and 7500kh/s or  at 1.05v and getting 6300kh/s

someone have the conf for 7950 and a r9 280x? now I have
7950 --> 4,6 Mh/s
280x --> 4,1 mh/s

is it strange?

Read the OP - page 1
I did. In fact I have a rate slower then 6mhs they wrote,
So, there is any that want to share the bat or conf file related to a 7950 and a r9 280x?

how does your .bat look like?

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer -k groestlcoin --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 -o stratum+tcp://grs.suprnova.cc:5544 -u xxxxx -p xxxx -w 256 -I 20 -g 1 --gpu-engine 10?? --gpu-memclock 1500 --thread-concurrency 8192

after a lot of time and trying, this is my best conf with scrypt, I have stable:
r9 280x = 750 kh/s
7950 = 550 kh/s

Im not an expert:

I use default gpu settings             Saphire R9 280x OC dual x

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer -k groestlcoin --difficulty-multiplier 0.00390625 -o stratum+tcp://grs.suprnova.cc:5544 -u xxxxx -p xxxx -w 256 -I 20 -g 1            ONLY  in my .bat  : set gpu to default via  catalys control center

I get  366Mh/min   per Saphire R9 280x OC dual x  ----  scrypt: 42900Kh/min

Do u have an old conf in App Data perhaps. I dont know if an old conf might confuse a new wallet. Perhaps try moving the old conf out of its current location , then re-launching wallet?

Perhaps you could also try temporarily disabling your firewall to see if that helps?

carlo63 - here's the official spreadsheet with settings, so you can get the best results with your GPUs.

phunixx, I don't know of anyone currently using PIMP to mine GRS. Did you also try srcxxx's BAMT instructions as a reference?

Hi!

I think there was a problem with seed node. Could you try again?

Thanks

Here are my settings:

First I downloaded the latest SPH-SGMiner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0

Personally I like to move it the root level of the C drive

Then I create a BAT file and place it on my Desktop, then edit the example CONF file.

I have used Sapphire Trixx to underclock memclocks of the 7970 and R9 290. The 5770 freaks if I attempt anything.
None of my cards are undervolted.

BAT file
Quote
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

cd C:/GRS/
sgminer.exe -c GRS.conf

CONF file

The cards are in this order: 7970, 290, 5770
Respectively they get: 5.2Mh, 9.1Mh, 3.15Mh
