Obviously, someone dumped & probably left the coin. More cheap coins for investors, lower diff for miners!

iam not sure if GRS will gain any traction considering how superior this algo is compared to scrypt/X11

Should we switch to PoS/PoW hybrid?
« on: May 15, 2014, 02:15:18 pm »
Quote
This question has been asked a few times in the BTC talk thread. Some people are in favor, some are against it.

Finally, we have a platform to vote...

Some cons for PoS/Pow hybrid:
•Current stakeholders will likely benefit more than others buying in later on.
•Generation of new coins will speed up than designed
•Questionable long-term sustainability depending on the adoption of the coin.

Some pros for PoS/Pow hybrid:
•You can generate coins also by just running the wallet
•Next to no energy consumption is needed to mint coins, compared to traditional PoW coins making it less of a necessity to dump coin on the market.

Some cons for merged mining:
•Compared to the current model it doesn't seem like there's any real negative.

Some pros for merged mining:
•Groestlcoin and Diamondcoin miners will be able to mine both blockchains at once, essentially meaning free coins apart from the targeted coin.
•Better security for the both blockchains

every one shold go voting at http://groestlcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=90.0
this coin has low exchange volume for a long time.
bittrex.com had already delisted GRS.
poloniex had delisted a lot of low volume coins.will GRS be the next one?and so it is Mintpal.

once one of them delist GRS,GRS will die!

we need a hardfork ASAP to drive price up!

Hi dev,we should change it to a POS+POW mixed coin, like NRS

POS can help us keeping the coins in our wallet and it can also help the network.
POW keeps the cost of mining and its price wont go down too much.

my idea is :
POW-6%->-10% weekly,
POS +4% weekly

in this way,we still have 6% reduce(maybe not such simple calculation but something like this),
we are not changing too much.but I am sure the price will be as high as DRK!

Why not implement it?

It's not a matter of algo. You should probably know that by now. It's the added value the coin can offer.

Bitcoin ... a mainstream - everyone can compare or exchange BTC for USD/EUR
Litecoin .... the alternative, with sufficient capitalization
Darkcoin ... anonymity - as the added value
Vertcoin ... secureness against ASICS (albeit - you know - every Scrypt-N algo can be implemented in hardware).

So... What's Groestlcoin has to offer - besides weird name and YAHA (Yet another hash algo)

Resistability to ASICS? Guess not - as *every* algo, Groestl especially - can be implemented in hardware.

So think hard about the added value the coin can offer.
