Amazing game between Munster and Toulouse yesterday. It was a pretty much full house
at The Aviva in Dublin. I had Munster the underdogs to win but at full time it was level 24-24,
which is not a very common result ^{a draw}.

The resulting extra time didnt seperate the teams then it went to "penalty shootout"
which is unbelievably rare. Toulouse won after Munster kicked 3 wides.

Leinster won away to Leicester yesterday 14-23. I did say in this post from last week
that Leinster are in with a real chance to win both competitions

This coming weekend is Round 10 of the NRL. Nearly all the draws are between evenly
placed teams or teams in similar ladder positions which makes it very difficult to bet on.

Leinster have a home draw in their semi to visiting Toulouse. Leinster clear favourites
should win that.

The second draw is harder to pick a winner, Racing92 v La Rochelle. Racing92 are slights favourites
1.78 v 1.98.

Two good picks so far Timelord! I'm somewhat impressed so far by the Broncos this season,

Until now. I'm picking the Sharks over the Auckland Warriors.

On paper, the Eels look to be the better team, but they've had a little slump which I'm thinking will give the Rooster's the edge this week.

Lastly, it's probably wishful thinking, but I'm going to say the West's Tigers will cause an upset over the NQ Cowboys.

And the game between the Panthers and Storm wasnt even close, it finished up a
massive 32-6. It turned out that Storm were missing a few key players which hit them.
I really thought it was going to be closer .

The Rabbitohs win today against the Warriors but not convincingly, they let a massive
deficit slide by letting the Warriors finish within 2 points, score at half time 26-6, full time
score 32-30, not convincing, I'll be possibly holding my bets on them for a while.

The Rabbitohs have been playing very hot then cold over the weeks while the Warriors at sixty minutes poured Ithe power but it wasn't enough to catch up the deficit from the first half.

When the Panthers scored and converted twice in the first seven minutes, I knew I'd lost my money.

If this repeats through the rest of the season, then they will win the premiership.

Well after that display yesterday against Storm I would agree. Storm are so far the
most consistent team other then the Panthers if it continues it will at least be
a "two horse race"

I know the Eels were one if the top teams last year but they have had a shaky start
to this season and I still cant believe the Panthers couldnt beat them last week.

The first of mt 2 bets in the NRL has not gone my way, Sharks losing at home to what
were to 12th placed team, the Raiders.

In the second semi final of the European Champions Cup last weekend La Rochelle
were able to come from 10 points down to beat Racing92 13-20.

I heard today La Rochelle are missing a key player, their #1 scrum half Kerr-Barlow, I
will be backing Leinster for the final anyway which is set for the 28th of May.

Leinster are currently big favourites, Rollbit have them at 1.18 against La Rochelle @ 5.0.

Interestingly as a side note, the head coach of La Rochelle is former Munster and Ireland
#10 Ronan O'Gara. He is currently Ireland's highest points scorer!

The most famous Argentinian player in my country is Felipe Contepomi who played #10

Look what happens is that here the sport that monopolizes everything at a popular level is soccer as it is public knowledge.
The rest of the sports are played a lot but as secondary sports.
In the case of rugby, here in Argentina only middle or upper class people play it.

This leads to few people watching or following it in such a way that it is profitable on television (although the main tournament is broadcast by ESPN) and sponsors certain big brands.

In these years the emigration of many young players to Europe for wages is even greater. Even those who are bad travel on their own, for example, to a country that is starting to want to get into the world of rugby like Spain and play there for money.

Yes I heard the game on the radio - the Knights started the first nearly twenty minutes strongly in front of a home crowd in Newcastle and led for much of the first fifty minutes of game play.  Then, with about fifteen minutes left to play, the Broncos were awarded two tries in quick succession which the video replay suggested were not actual tries.  Instead of rallying, the Newcastle Knights fell apart and gave away twenty plus points in the last dozen minutes.

The Broncos are now in fourth place on the ladder part way through round eleven.  

Meanwhile, over at Bulldogs HQ an interim coach has been appointed after the regular coach was forced to fall on his sword.  I don't think it'll be enough to rally against the Tigers whose fire razed HQ was the topic of debate in the NSW media this week.

My guess is the Cowboys with the home-town advantage and their overall form (five wins in a row) was enough to take the wind out of the Storm's sails.

I'm going with the Cowboys over the Panthers to make it seven wins in a row.  (The Panthers can't win every time - can they?)
