NRL

Yea good win by the Dolphins, that keeps their top half positioning alive, they have
slipped a bit in the last few rounds and I thought they might end up in the bottom
half, we will have to wait and see.

Such a weird line up tomorrow's game, Eels v Cowboys, two powerhouses from last
year battling it out to stay away from the wooden spoon spot. I wont be betting on that one.

Saturday sees the Warriors take on the Broncos, that could be a good one, I dont know
who could win or who I would like to see win, Broncos maybe?

I do not see a thread discussing the United Rugby Championship and the final being played between the Stormers and Munster tomorrow, so I just want to know who do you think is going to win that match?

It is being played in South Africa, giving home field advantage to the Stormers, but Munster has won the Stormers at their home field before, so I do not know if it actually gives them a large advantage. 

This is going to be a hard match and too close to call...

United Rugby Championship

The two semi finals have come and gone with one predictable win and one shock win!

As most expected the DHL Stormers won their semi against the visiting Connacht 43-25.
I have given Connacht a half chance of winning but my $1 bet didnt materialise.

Second semi final on Saturday brought the upset, home side Leinster were looking to setup
a second final and win the double with the Heineken Champions Cup but the visiting Munster
were able to stay with them and win with a 77th minute drop goal. Leinster had prioritised the
Heineken Cup by resting some key players for the coming final on Saturday.

Grand Final

DHL Stormers v Munster

Munster are on a bit of a roll ATM and are surprising finalists after beating Leinster
in the semi's, who everyone tipped to win outright ^{this alao means my bet is dead!}

Stormers are worthy finalists though and are playing at home, but week 17 of 18
Munster beat the Stormers 24 - 26 on their own turf!

TBH I'll probably back Munster being the Irish side, but its really hard to call.

And Munster in a typical fashion come out on top in a close game and won 14 - 19 with
a converted try a couple of minutes from full time.

That is a typical Munster win IMO, if you give them the slightest hint of disrespect they
will punish you, or if they are written off before an important game they can prove
you wrong.

Overall its been a great season for Munster, they came from a very shaky start to the URC
and end up unlikely champions . . . and one of their former talisman's coaches La Rochelle to
champions of the Heineken Champions Cup - Ranan O'Gara!

In about ninety minutes game one of the NRL State of Origin kicks off in Adelaide which has been seen as an odd choice given the lack of local teams in the state of South Australia.

Nevertheless, Queensland is seen as the underdog with odds of about $2.50 verses New South Wales at about $1.60

For the about fourty years of the State Versus State format 75% of the time whoever wins the first game usually wins the series.

Queensland have some new members in their squad so like every other year we won't know until the final whistle sounds who will win. It real is unlike anything else.

I'm going with the Canberra Raiders over the West's Tigers in tonight's opening game of round thirteen of the NRL regular season.

The Tigers have proved they can beat last year's Grand final winner the Penrith Panthers which is reflected in the betting sites offering <$2.75 for a Tigers win.


In the first game of the Women's State of Origin overnight, Queensland won 18 - 10 in the first of just two games in their series!

Both Men's and Women's game two will be in three weeks time.

With 1 second to go and a missed field goal attempt it was extremely close, thats a pity
for them really after beating the Panthers to come close to taking a second win.

Big Big game tomorrow 2 plays 3 - Sharks v Broncos, the Broncos are underdogs @ 2.7,
can they pull off a win away to the Sharks?

Of the top teams from last year they have lost to the Panthers, Raiders, Rabbitohs, Storm.
They have beaten the Eels and Cowboys but we cant count them because they have
lost to almost everyone at this stage.

Going by this season I would back the Sharks but I would like to back the Broncos!

The Cronulla Sharks can't be discounted that's certainly true and given what you just said may actually come to pass. There aren't as many teams experiencing BYES this week so the ladder will be worth having a look at on Monday.

Shame about the Tigers, I would have liked to see them win.  They're starting to run out of weeks to earn enough points to make it into the final four.

Thats a brilliant result from Brisbane'rs, this kinda makes them into being the real deal,
if they continue their level of performance they will definitely reach the finals.

Tomorrows games sees

Roosters play the Bulldogs . Roosters are 10th, they need to start making moves into the
top of the ladder.

Cowboys play Storm, based on the last 13 rounds and the fact that the Cowboys have
"strayed off the trail" from last year it has to be Storms game!

Yes, they've returned to the top of the ladder but the top right positions are very hotly contested at the moment with only a win or two seperating their ladder scores. The dolphins got pounded as did the Titans in yesterday's two earlier games.

The West Tigers look to be clawing their way out of the black hole they were in trailing at first they lost by just one point at full time.

I'm seriously considering betting on them depending on who they come up against in the next few weeks.

Ooooh thats a big move, yes I like that they are and seem to have improved their results,
personally I might wait a bit before having so much confidence though.

I'm not one who would want to see the same teams year after year winning and populating
the top of the ladder so I like the mixup which is happening, its not great, actually its
$hite for my wagers this season!

There's a full round of games being played this weekend - a few of the players are out with injuries, but it doesn't seem like there are concentrated in one team, so it shouldn't affect game play too much.

NRL - Round 15

First game of this round is an interesting one, Titans v Wests Tigers and both
are even odds, no favourite. Carrying on from last weeks posts and results of the
games I would say both myself and Timelord will bet on the Tigers.

On the opposite end of the ladder the Broncos in 2nd place take on the Knights
in 11th so thats a handy game for the Broncos who are obvious favourites.

Yea hopefully injuries wont have too much of a bearing on the games.

Yeh tonight I'm going with the Tigers.  They made a colossal comeback last week, so my money is on them.  Likewise, the Auckland Warriors have been playing tough this year as has Canberra who I think will pip their New Zealand opponents at the post.  The Rabbitohs should easily slay the Dragons.  It'll be an upset if Newcastle ($4.150) can reign in the Broncos even though on the ladder there isn't much of a gap between the top ten teams.

Goal kicker for the Panthers Nathan Cleary is out for many weeks with a torn hamstring, so their conversion points may suffer, but I'm going with the Panthers.

I'm going with the Sharks over the more favoured Storm but am going to say the more favoured Eels with bring the Bulldogs to heal.

One of the Tigers went off with a broken jaw and was taken to the nearby hospital in a private car as the hospital is only three streets away.

I took a look at that broken jaw incident and it didnt look malicious on the part of
Fa’asuamaleaui but he is on report but its a very serious injury to receive.

Tomorrow one of the games sees the Sea Eagles go up against the Dolphins and
they are favoured to win too, 1.33 - 3.6, I see Timelord that you arent betting on that game.
