I don't think Lens is a team that can really get tough competition with PSG even though they have beaten PSG this season. I admit PSG have not been in their best form lately. But PSG are still few points ahead of their rivals which makes me believe they are still safe to lead Ligue 1 for longer. I consider PSG to be the most potential title-winning team this season, but it seems PSG has extra focus on the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

Disharmonious relations within the PSG squad could affect the team's overall performance.

Speaking of the Champions League, reportedly Mbappe will be played in this match. but I can not confirm the legitimacy of the news. at least, I hope PSG will show their best performance. also, Bayern munich. as football lovers, we are really looking forward to this match and hope that both teams will perform at their full strength in this battle.

Lens experienced unsatisfactory results because they had to lose against Lyon in the away game yesterday. Lens should have had the opportunity to overtake Marseille in 2nd place in the standings but they failed to win. On the other hand, Lyon is not an easy opponent, especially since they are the hosts in this match. A narrow score of 2-1 for Lyon's victory made them move up to 9th place in the standings.

With the current results and performance of the Lens look like as now we are heading for the end of this season they are also heading for the down in league table because now they have four matches without any win and Marseille and Monaco is already overtaken them with most chances in coming weeks they could be down from this top rank with Lille and Nice both are trying their best for having better end of this season because these both teams are having better results and quality is also improved which will give them their required spots with Lens and Rennes are both have time for the poor results and down in their ranks in league table.

It seems to me that the main reasons are economic. In England, the best conditions for football as a business have been created (even if there is a lot of dirty money there now), while in France (maybe something has changed there since Hollande, I don’t know) football (and other business) are literally strangled. And again, look at Italy - they once dominated, but for a long time their economy has been stagnating and they are dying out. In Spain the situation is slightly better but there only the top clubs remain at the top (but at the same time Barcelona is close to bankruptcy lol).

I'm not an expert but I believe the same economic conditions for football exist in other European countries, but why I say quality is because of the Middle East. For example I think you can invest as much money as you want and even buy all the tv rights in Saudi Arabia. No limits, no quotas, no nothing, you can buy Ronaldo if you can pay 200m a year salary, no problem.

And the profits from football clubs there, guess what, is almost tax free!

So what's stopping football from becoming great there? Even better than England. Sky TV and all the others have rights, to watch it abroad you have to either pay or pirate. Saudi football can be watched for free. Saudi economy is booming for 30 years, no recession, oil pumping, no tax even... But who wants watch football to even with Ronaldo there?

Maybe that could be a good strategy for PSG, but it's also worth noting that basically it won't guarantee a team to win more easily. Furthermore it’s a shame that his goal got ruled out for offside, but if he remains fit for the second leg then Bayern will definitely have a tough game but if they hold on for a victory then PSG coach will be relieved from his job for sure, because that’s what PSG owner’s do after every time they exit the champions league.

I think Mbappe was injured and he didn't had a 90 minutes in him, which is why he couldn't play, but he is just too much of a strong player to consider not to play. He should be playing on the second game and he should be in for 90 minutes if he can, I don't know how his injury will be but do not play him in the league game if he is not fully healthy and let him rest a bit.

I think it is going to be a big trouble for them if they can't find the 2 goal difference in the second game, the fact that they won the league all this time and still fired their coach is the proof that league doesn't matter, UCL is the only thing that matters to them at this point.

Depend Lens I think Marseille have close opportunity keep in Ligue 1 tittle race with PSG and current standing until matchday 23 both team remaining 5 points. Lens dropped to 4th standing position after inconsistency performance from last several matches although ever got full points against PSG.

Possibility between Marseille and AS Monaco become PSG rival for Ligue 1 tittle race in this season and both team have getting advantage from inconsistency performance in Ligue 1, last match PSG have got another beaten in Champion League from Bayern Munich and I think get impact with their performance in Ligue 1 later.

In major games, Kingsley Coman scored often. Coman chose not to celebrate his single goal against his old club, as Bayern dominated Paris in the first leg. There were more opportunities that Bayern could have taken advantage of, but they wasted them. Even though psg had home advantage and were accompanied by Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, they couldn't dominate the game. But I was going back to my point of the success of English football. In the beginning before professional football, there was also no economic rationale but they changed the rules and the systems and effectively created a demand for it overseas.

Why can't local clubs compete with next door clubs in England who have fans overseas? No demand to watch Wrexham for example, until they got bought by an actor of Hollywood and suddenly Wrexham games are being beamed abroad and ESPN is giving them all kinds of coverage. Most importantly, it is in English. So people in South America, Africa, Asia, everywhere understand it in general.

But put Ronaldo in Saudi and watch the streams in either Arabic or Portuguese and we all switch off.

I actually agree with you, though, just I think English football until the day English is not any longer the major language. It will be Chinese, and in the super future I agree you are right about USA but when China decides football is their agenda, we're all over lol.

Totally agreed PSG are fully under-pressure against Bayern they can't even score a signal goal against them while they have world number one attacking trio like Messi ,Neymar, mbappe, and the funny thing is that Bayern didn't have his main goalkeeper Manuel nauer but still they can't score. I am totally unhappy with PSG performance because it's third consecutive lose for them, first they lose against Marseille then Monaco and now against Bayern. Not going to say I agree with you because PSG have just a better situation compared to other similar teams in other leagues like Bayern with or without Manuel Neuer, doesn't really matter. because PSG they have a more difference between the second and first teams also if you check and compare the player you can see PSG got Messi while he is in one of his golden years and Neymar and Neymar these three players is the reason to say PSG will not have hard games and any team playing against this team should feel danger because of this attacking power.

This is a matter of strategy and formation that Galtier implemented in PSG's match against Bayern. Galtier tried to implement a 4-4-2 formation, pairing Messi and Neymar as the spearhead. two pivots and two attack bracelets, the rest are defenders.
IMO, the scenario that Galtier executed with the pattern of play relied on counterattacks. but unfortunately, the pattern that Galtier applied did not work effectively "in the first half" the transition between the players was too slow, plus several defenders made mistakes, one of which was Hakimi. and as we saw, PSG really struggled when trying to build an attack.

In half two, Galtier pulled on Carlos Soler, playing Mbappe aiming to change his starting formation. and yes, quite effective, the attacks that PSG built were more threatening than in the first half. Mbappe scored two goals, unfortunately it had to be annulled due to offside and VAR.

Overall, I'd say it's purely Galtier's fault in his implementation of the strategy. maybe the story would have been different if PSG had played at full strength from the start. next, PSG will play at home to Bayern and we'll see how they will give us an interesting spectacle.

Monaco is more consistent in playing compared to Marseille and Lens, because so far from the previous six matches Monaco have not been beaten in Ligue 1, although if you talk about their standings they are still in third place and last they beat PSG 3-1 at home, this will be a good capital for Monaco to continue to play consistently. Four positions in the standings still have a chance to be in the title race, especially since PSG is not in good condition following three consecutive defeats in all competitions.

So that opens up opportunities for the challengers to continue to reduce the points behind in the next game, for me the unsatisfactory results that PSG got are worrying. If in the future Galtier does not try to show consistency and make his team recover from three consecutive defeats.
