Without Neymar, Messi and Mbappe, I believe PSG is an ordinary team on par with Lens, Monaco or Marseille. There's nothing special about PSG without the three superstars, so don't think too much about PSG as luxury team when these three are absent and you can expect defeat at any time.

I don't think PSG are really strong without all the star players in defence, midfield or striker. Not all players have average quality at PSG, but the three superstars currently owned by PSG have made the PSG squad look luxurious. So PSG may still fail in the French Cup, while they may also fail in Ligue 1 and the Champions League more easily without their three superstars.

Lyon v Lille and Marseille v PSG are big matches in the Coupe de France in this round already. Lyon are favoured against Lille. Actually in the Ligue 1, Lille's condition is better now. But when it comes to this cup it is really hard to predict a side to win. No matter which side wins it won't be a big surprise to me. Because normally both of them are big teams in France. I will go with Lyon in this. Because as they are struggling more in the Ligue 1 they might care about this cup more.

Marseille have a potential to beat PSG as well. 2.71 is a pretty nice odd to bet on in my opinion. PSG have more important affairs to attend to. Besides Neymar and Mbappe both are injured as it seems. Marseille have a great chance ahead to eliminate the biggest threat in the tournament.

Rotation is needed, of course it can be justified because PSG has a high focus on the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Mbappe is still injured and may still miss some of PSG's matches, who may also miss the first leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich. Messi and Neymar can be expected in the line-up, but only if both are fully fit without any problems.

I don't think PSG will give up many title chances this season including Ligue 1 and Coupe de France just because of the Champions League. They have to stay realistic about their achievements, so about what they might be able to win should be maximized. Even though PSG was very focused and rotated their players in the two matches before Bayern Munich, that is not a guarantee to win the match.

I think that is why the Premier League is the most interesting even though it had been dominated by Manchester City and Liverpool in a certain sense for some time. But everyone knew that those times could easily change anytime.

In France I just can't see how that is going to change anytime soon. If any club were on the rise with a couple of superstars threatening PSG's position, PSG would just open their wallet and buy those superstars or any other club would buy them and they would certainly leave Ligue 1. Mbappe is a great example for that. I thin a couple of years ago hardly one would have thought that we would get to see Messi, Mbappe, Neymar, Hakimi, Donnaruma, etc. playing in Ligue 1.

Now that it is the case, the only chance to increase competition in Ligue 1 is probably when another sheikh is trying to build a Newcastle 2.0 in France.

The problem for the Champions League looks like this season will remain the same as before with them failing in the knockout stages.
The loss of Mbappe's loss now will definitely have a big impact on them in the match. Even though there are still many other players, Mbappe's role is clearly difficult to replace.
As for Ligue 1, I don't think this needs to be discussed anymore because they will be the winners again.

I don't think so. Neymar and mbappe has been coming to the PSG around 2017 - 2018. Meanwhile, PSG has been consistently winning the league 1 since 2012. If you were thinking PSG as an ordinary club and you're wrong. PSG has been doing so well before it was being acquired by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

Even PSG can't even win UCL with all of its superstars. You shall remember winning UCL is not an easy task. You will be facing so many biggest clubs from another league. The competition is really strict. That's why PSG is so difficult to win it even with great players.

It is not too bad but 2 defeats and 3 draws after a little bit more than a half of season is a warning signal for them. Their club have many star players from main squad to alternative team and are able to win the league.

Right and it kind of shows that the Ligue 1 is just relatively unattractive for some reason. I don't know whether it is just bad management by the national association and how they market soccer as a product, but after all this also shows that Ligue 1 is fighting with a problem where both sides of the coin are bad. If they allow some sheikh to spend money like crazy, they can get players like Neymar, Messi and Mbappe and make the league more attractive for people. However, it is going to be as one-sided as it is now and, hence, kind of boring. If, as you say, they force PSG to earn more than or as much as they spend, the cub will be blown away, no superstars will be playing in Ligue 1 and desperate the competition for the title being more fierce, the league is kind of boring again.

The only way to get out of this hamster wheel is probably to have more sheikhs or oligarchs invest more money into more French clubs. But that is not a very great idea either.

It kind of seems that national league rankings within Europe in terms of attractiveness are kind of set in stone. It is unrealistic to believe that the Premier League could lose the number 1 spot anytime soon. The first time when I noticed that a national league could really lose some of its prestige was when the rivalry of Ronaldo vs. Messi and Madrid vs. Barcelona fell apart in a sense when many players of that era stopped playing for those clubs and, additionally, Atletico Madrid also started to massively decline.

PSG definitely looks like the winners again, yeah I know Mbappe is missing and many are putting that as reason to lose points here, but I agree with luckmcfly, this is a game PSG could easily win. Messi has beaten these type of easy games all by himself before, and maybe he is older now and may not do it all by himself, but he is still a huge force that could bring a win and him getting that time with Neymar? That's going to be easy win for them unless something changes.

Plus, we should stop acting as if the only good players in PSG are Messi-Neymar-Mbappe trio, they have plenty other good players, all the way starting from goalkeeper to defense to midfield, they are all good.

If Neymar, Messi and Mbappe are taken away from PSG now, this will affect the team to a large extent, because the whole attack is now built on them. And Mbappe has become a very important player for PSG, his absence can be felt. Of course each of them is very strong individually and can score goals, let's see how they play against Marseille. Even if psg do not have any player injured all season it is almost impossible for them to win every match in Ligue 1, a team can be favorite, but it does not mean that they are going to win every match they play, it is the same thing in other leagues, they will only lose a few matches just as psg is doing, but it is impossible for them to win every game.

This season is a bit tough for psg, and it would have been tougher if Lens and Marseille continued to be consistent, but recently they haven't been consistent, and they are losing points, while psg is increasing their advantage. Psg are going to win the Ligue 1, but it is because of the inconsistency of their challengers for the title.

The Ligue1 trophy for this season is still very likely to be owned by PSG and I am very unsure for other teams in Ligue1 apart from PSG in terms of having a trophy this season. Marseille will still be followed by Lens and Monaco this season if they are not consistent enough in the remaining matches this season, because the three of them will compete for a better place besides the top of the standings which will continue to be occupied by PSG until the end of the season.
