With this result, PSG cannot widen the distance from Lens on the standings, while Lens only needs 3 more points to match PSG's points.

I also didn't expect why PSG could be beaten by Rennes, even though Neymar and Messi also played in that match, but they also couldn't score goals to save PSG from losing to Rennes even though that also didn't change PSG's position as top of the standings.

It's true that this lose didn't change the point table still PSG are on top of the table but one more lose for PSG may effect his position because Rennes are just 3 point away from to become the top of the table, I think the main reason for PSG defeat is missing some close chances of score by Lionel Messi and mbappe and also some mis understanding in defense lineup, I think PSG should change the formation they need more defenders instead of 3, because thses small amount of defender can't oppose the strong opponent attack.

Rennes created so many goal opportunities in this game. PSG had serious weaknesses in defense honestly. Donnarumma was still impressive by his important saves. But it was obvious that they were going to concede a goal at some point. Mbappe wasted a big chance to equalize the score. Bernat was another player who got very close to the goal. But Mandanda saved that great shot in the same way. Messi and Neymar should have been more in the game honestly. In addition to that Mbappe should have been in the starting eleven.

I have this notion Gultier is been careful with his key players this period because it barely 4 weeks to the big match against Bayern so they are not really been much serious with their ligue 1 games. But PSG stil has three point above Lens and i am sure their subsequent matches will cover up for the two matches they have lost so far. PSG will always deliver but this period the UCL RO16 is a big distraction but i am sure they won't want to lose point to drop from the top.

While peoples were feeling their best future in Champions League and having amazing run in Ligue 1 they suffer two defeats and now gape is also cut by just three points from second spotted Lens and five points from third spotted Marseille which is having amazing run after the break and doing good job for challenging top two teams hopefully things could be more interesting near the end of this season because fans needs good exciting competitions for better entertainment and end of the season which was boring with the dominance of the PSG.

Their top players are not able to perform like they were doing before break which is surely matter of concern, but hopefully they could be able to have positive impact on teams performance in coming weeks because this is important for them before start of the Champions League which is big game and this all needs better mentality and strong performance against team like Bayern Munich which is also one of the best in business.

I think that this match would not have ended like this if Mbappe had entered the game very late and had started the game within the first eleven. IMO, uninteresting fight. and yes, according to what I previously suspected that the home team will play with defensive tactics. in the end, Rennes was able to overthrow PSG and the tactics implemented by Bruno Genesio went according to plan. Initially I thought Galtier would play Mbappe in the main starting line-up in this match.

Before, my estimation PSG will overthrow the home team easily. however, not what I expected. yes, it turns out that Galtier is trying to experiment again in this fight. from the last two matches, PSG did not play with its best performance. there were several opportunities they had, unfortunately the Galtier troop squad was unable to convert them into goals. I don't think that PSG will have problems with the title in Ligue 1 (although everyone expected more dominance) but if they fly out from the 1/8 of the Champions League again, then Galtier will be extremely weak and he will most likely leave the club.
But I don't see any fault Galtier - he got the club with a certain model set by the owners. There are many players with "special" rights here, so the head coach can do little.

I think it's just a small bumb for PSG especially after the world cup break, most of them seemed a bit lost and didn't try that much, plus Messi and Neymar did not play against Lens and Mbappe didn't play alongside them against Rennes from the start of the match, which definitely affected their rhythm, but I'm pretty sure it's about time they get back as good as they were, hopefully before facing Bayern Munich.

Yeah, Rennes definitely deserved that win against PSG. Even though both teams had 8 shots, Rennes took advantage of their opportunities better and that's what ultimately led to the victory. It's definitely a tough loss for PSG, especially with Messi's return, but that's just how it goes sometimes. And it just shows how dramatic Ligue 1 can be, with Lens just a few points away from taking the top spot. It's going to be an exciting finish to the season for sure

PSG dominated attack and they controlled a good percentage of possession but failed to score in their attempts.
PSG coach (Christophe Galtier) blamed the trio and other players in that match for failing to win the match against Rennes. He thinks all the players who were previously involved in the World Cup are still affected by the World Cup euphoria which causes them to lose their best playing rhythm.

I don't know what the problem is, but I think Christophe Galtier still has the impression that his current attackers are still affected by the World Cup moment. But in my opinion his comments really don't make sense because in the previous match PSG managed to win the match well even with the same players.

Isn't that the best thing for them because if they balance PSG's game by playing openly I think the conditions will be different. but Genesio is smart in this regard, they prefer to wait for PSG to be in their area of defense and immediately make quick counterattacks that are difficult to anticipate. The French league is becoming Interesting this season because  some teams are trying their best to meet PSG position.  If Lens succeed in taking PSG  position it will look somehow because PSG has 3 best players that by right the first is supposed to occupied and maintained by PSG.
