There isn't a proper team performance right now. Without Mbappe they would be just desperate and wouldn't be much different than an average team as for their game. We saw this at the beginning of the season when Mbappe didn't play in a couple of games much. They were in control in terms of ball possession maybe but they weren't able to score.

PSG are doing poorly in defense, and without Mbappe everything will be just as bad in attack. At the moment, Mbappe this is their chance to play well in the Champions League, but with a team like this I doubt they will achieve a worthy result, and they may not even manage to win Ligue 1. Mbappe's potential far exceeds PSG's current capabilities, so I doubt that he changed his mind about leaving the team. PSG should have let him go this summer.

Even with Mbappe in the squad PSG this season, but PSG performance at this moment is very bad. Moreover, if Mbappe really leaves and or cannot be played maybe due to injury later, then PSG is only a mediocre team that will not be able to win titles and cannot compete in the upper zone in the standings. It is quite natural that the fans are disappointed because in several seasons Lyon's performance has declined so they have failed to reach their target in the top 4. Even this season Lyon is ranked at the bottom of the standings which makes their performance even worse.

I think Lyon management must immediately find a way to revive their strength in the upcoming match. If not, they will get worse every week by being at the bottom of the standings. Lens are also worse than Lyon because they have conceded a lot of goals at the start of this season. A big turnaround for the big teams in Ligue 1.

Wow not a single one of the main favorites in this league won their game during this weekend.Paris,Monaco,Lens and Marseille all failed to win and they all lost or drew their games which makes this week in the French Ligue 1 really strange to say the least,I never have seen the same happening here before especially when three of these favorites were playing at their home field except Monaco which was playing away and a draw is not the end of the world nor a big surprise result,these are three though are huge surprises in the results of this league,I wonder if anyone of us has hit a win in sport betting in this league as it seems quite impossible with these results.

Monaco could not win despite performing well. The match was drawn 2-2. I thought Monaco would pick up maybe 3 points, and cement their place at the top of the points table. But they failed. However, Brest are now second in the points table thanks to a win in their last match. The team finished 14th in the points table last season. But Brest is playing very well this season. On the other hand, Marseille and PSG's performance is weak. Marseille got 9 points and PSG got 8 points from 5 matches. On the other hand, two renowned Ligue 1 teams Lens and Lyon are yet to win.

When Monaco played as guest at Lorient home ground, I also thought the same thing, that Monaco would secure another victory when their performance was in a strong state, occupying first place in the standings, but everything did not match my thoughts, that Lorient cannot be underestimated, which has a strong defense. strong enough in the midfield and back on one side Lorient attack line is also strong enough to be able to steal 2 scores against Monaco.
Really appreciate the match between these two equal clubs but I still would think that Monaco will be at the top until the end of the season.

And by the way, I have one more thing to say. How can a professional goalkeeper at this level get beaten in the near post? I thought it was literally a crime for goalkeeper to get to beaten at the near post. And I see that happening every now and then.

After the weak performance of Lyon with their former coach Laurent Blanc and many unhappy fans, they started working with Fabio Grosso now while we all know comparing to Laurent Blanc, he doesn't even have good experience and we can't expect to see good performance from this young coach in Lyon, they are currently in the danger zone of French League and the first mission of Lyon and Grosso is to get them out of this place in the table.
While Grosso's last experience was in Frosinone and in Serie B. Maybe Lyon could get a better coach than Grosso.

I think sometimes it is really hard to make a decision for goalkeepers because it's tricky to assess how far an attacker is running, but the first goal I believe the goalkeeper had some bad judgment when Tosin had a bad touch and was running after the ball, which was away from him a few meters. That's when the goalkeeper should have been fully determined to to attack and do those three or four steps towards Tosin. I think he could have saved that one as well.

The near post thing is also tricky because when there is literally no time to react for the goalkeeper, I think it is not always fair to blame them. The ball was shot pretty hard and there is really no time to raise the arm. It could also just slight on the surface, so this is more of a luck and reaction thing I guess.

You are correct, something is wrong with the defense. The club has conceded six goals in five games. But this will not be a problem if the attackers are scoring more goals. Monaco which is topping the league has conceived more goals than PSG but the only difference is that Les Rouge et Blanc is scoring more goals. Luis Enrique needs to find a way to make attackers score more goals.

I still think that they do not "care" enough about defense and that is the main result, I feel like it has to be done in a different way and we should be considering a lot more important stuff. I think they just attack too much, which leaves their defense weaker and that should be the most important part of it.

I believe that we need to reach to a point where it has to be done in a way where they also care about defense enough to just keep the defenders defending. Now? They just have two center backs that defend which goes all the way to midfield when attacking, and all the other 8 players are attacking and at the other side, so attacking PSG becomes easier and many teams score that way since it's easier.

Adolf Hütter failed to win his last game, I guess he would make it right if he wins his next game. Winning Lorient was definitely going to be difficult after re-check their past records, I later realized it was going to be a little rough for Monaco who were unbeaten in Ligue One games. Lens is even worst compared with lyon as it was only getting 1 point from so many matches. This club is terrible, it's pathetic, it's so dumb. I said that based on the fact if lens has been performing so garbage.
Im waiting for the decision from the management to recruit a new coach as soon as possible. I don't see anything else that wowed me like last season which lens has been performing so well.

I tgink they're beginning to depende on him too much and it's not really helping because there would be much pressure on him and he won't be able to deliver them alone in all match especially against very tough opponets, they've got a squad filled with young, vibrant and talented players, so they need to start working together as a team to get better results instead of depending on one player to succeed.

Just like we discuss it before that Lyon management has been attempts to solved this problem with sacked Lyon previous manager Laurent Blanc and they were hire Fabio Grosso as new manager but indeed Grosso has unable to give Lyon the winning result this season even i have to says Lyon performance under him still haven't performing well and Lyon was performing not consistent while against Le Havre last week and luckily they got draw result and Lyon was escape from the loses but Grosso indeed admitting to lifted up Lyon from relegation zone is quite hard because this team has so many problem and next match against Brest Grosso will attempts to bringing Lyon to performing better and gets 3 points and regarding their chances to survive on Ligue 1 i think Lyon will not be degraded but indeed they still required more time to adapt with Grosso tactic

When Messi, Neymar and Mbappe were all together in PSG the strength of the team was undoubtedly formidable as they could stand any team in the french league, with these three player in the team then, they had the best front line in Ligue 1, their convertions were excellent with matching assist and every match was epic with good number of goals.

The effects of the departure of two of these three players on the team cannot be overly emphasised as it's evident and obvious with every game as dependency and pressure has been moved to the only one of this player left, a typical example cam be seen in their match against Nice where the lost, all goals were scored by mbappe, the team showed a weak moral until mbappe's first goal.

Obviously the dependency on this player(mbappe) is clear and I think PSG should work on reducing it as it may have a great effect on them in future matches especially in champion's league where they will be facing tougher teams. No doubts they have a fair midfield but in the absence of mbappe their finishing will be very poor and in extreme cases the may not be able to secure a goal as seen in the early games of the season where he was absent, I expected the coach to have foreseen this early enough to get replacements for the players who left.
