It was a great competition and an important victory for Monaco. They managed to defeat Lille 2-1 and they are in the second position currently. Monaco were still determined to win this game despite Lille's great effort. We are seeing them in this position for now but this might change until the end of the week too. We will be waiting for the results of the Lorient - Marseille and Nantes - Rennes games. No matter what, Monaco deserve to be appreciated too much for their incredible rise in the standings.

Monaco did very well in this match they played more openly and this is of course very good for them.
The match was a bit monotonous actually for both players but interestingly they didn't waste the chances they got which made this quite good.
Monaco finally overtook Marseille but this is only temporary because their points are still the same but Marseille still have one game in hand

It was Monaco's lucky day. They indeed play amazingly. After Lille equalize the score sheet to 1-1, Tchouameni came through with an incredible goal Which resulted to Monaco winning the match. Although, Lille have been in terrible form lately. However, Marseille have to win their match tomorrow against Lorient in order to slide back to the 2nd place. Otherwise, Monaco will continue to occupy their current position.

The competition is pretty healthy for a team like this,they really need to compete so it can match the level of competition in England.The English premier league is regarded as the most competitive team in the world,this happens because England play a very combative pattern of football which makes it a little bit hard for player from other league to come to England and just Excell extremely well.One must adapt well and learn the pattern of game in the English league before they will be able to do well in England.

AS Monaco have big chance after winning last night from Lille and now drop Marseille to 3rd standing place but Marseille can back to 2nd place if success defeat Lorient on next match. I also think the same as you, Marseille deserves to be second in the Ligue 1 standings. There are only 3 games left. there is no opposing team that could possibly be a strong opponent for them except Rennes as I have mentioned before.

The reason is because Rennes are also still fighting for the top spot until the end of the season. Currently they are in fourth place in the standings and have points that are not far adrift of Marseille and AS Monaco.

Sure, the Monaco team has done so well in their last few games so I think with these outstanding performances they deserve to be in the champions league next season. Their victory against Lille yesterday was not a surprise to me because they have been in prolific form.

Marseille itself will just play tomorrow and Marseille play away against Lorient as the bottom five teams, on this occasion I personally believe Marseille will win and put themselves back in 2nd place. Likewise with Rennes who will play away but unfortunately, Rennes gets a more difficult opponent like Nantes. But in any case, if in the end they get the same points at the end of the season then surely Rennes as the team that leads in number of goals will be the team for 2nd place. But interestingly, in the 37th round we will get a clear decider, because Rennes will play at home against Marseille but anyway, at this moment I think Rennes are a very deserving team to get UCL ticket because they are leading in goals and that's great.

Head to head statistics showed Strasbourg better than their opponent Brest but compare to their recent matches results Brest were much better because they have 3 consecutive won but Strasbourg manager Julien Stephan said he want to utilize for each matches remaining to attempts to win because he still haven't given up on being able to finish at top 5 so this match is so important for Strasbourg and won result is mandatory for them to keep their chance finish at European zone this season

Yes, I agree because even though it looks like Strasbourg are in a better position in the standings and they are also playing better throughout the whole season.

But if you look at the current form I think you will be able to see that Brest are in a better form than Strasbourg and it will be an oversimplification, it also belittles the team if we say Strasbourg is going to win this match easily. But I think Strasbourg still has a very good chance of finishing in the top five.

Looking at Marseille and their current performance, it's hard for them to lose the next 3 games, maybe they can win 2 games and draw 1 game, then we'll see tomorrow's game, if they lose points in tomorrow's game then they'll be under pressure in the next game and they can lose more points and it is enough for Monaco to win all the next games for them to be able to go to the champions league. I hope that next season Ligue 1 will be a very competitive league, it won't be a league where PSG dominates and wins easily, at least we have to have a league in which even in the last few games there is no definite winner, the others teams need to become strong enough to compete with PSG

I would also guess that people just like to watch premier league more and that earns them a lot of money, English football is first and foremost watched a ton by the English people, and they spend a ton of money on their clubs as well, and watch it on TV like crazy, so EPL teams earn a ton of money.

Ligue 1 teams do not have that chance, they do not make that much money, hence why they could never become like that. Hell EFL teams make more than some Ligue 1 teams. This is why EPL grew to be such a huge league, and have like a billion dollars worth of roster. Doubt that ligue one will ever reach that level, just PSG of course because of the owner but that's it.

In the last 5 matches, Monaco's performance has been more consistent than Marseille's, but it's Marseille, who hasn't played this week,
have a chance to reclaim second place from Monaco if Marseille can beat Lorient. Of course Marseille should be able to beat Lorient which is
a weak team and Lorient's performance has also been poor in the last few matches. The rivalry between Monaco and Marseille is likely to

Monaco really has a great chance to finish in 2nd place than marseille, even though their points are the same but in the last 5 matches, monaco has always won while marseille in the last 5 matches suffered 2 defeats and 3 wins

There have been two games played so far on this week. Firstly, Monaco played a game away against Lille and it was one of the important games for Monaco to win. Because they were aiming to get the second place and keep it until the end of the season. And they made it although they had some significant problems in this. Because Lille had a good performance too. And in the other game Strasbourg defeated Brest 1-0 away. This was a nice victory for them and they are at the fifth spot for now. I wonder if Nice will take that back again. But their opponent can be difficult this time because St Etienne still can save themselves from relegating.

Even though this still hasn't made their ranking rise in the current position table, at least they still maintain their hope now and of course while hoping that the team above them makes mistakes and loses.
In terms of the game, indeed they showed a good game but on the other hand Brest's defense was also quite solid in this match. it's a shame for Brrest they had to lose over a small mistake and Gameiro managed to punish them
