I see that Auxerre and St Etienne are having a great rivalry against each other for the Ligue 1. Auxerre managed to save the draw by the goal came in the last minutes. The game wasn't one sided actually too. Hence, the rematch can be very exciting as well. I feel like St Etienne are going to make it. They will win the rematch and stay in the Ligue 1. Maybe they didn't have a good season this year but I still think that they are strong enough to move Auxerre out of their way.

Its really sad that St.Etienne didnt win this match they had a lead and should have won. Its honestly a great shame if a club with such a name gets relegated. They have the most trophies in history and i think they can save themselfs at home in the next match

I think not many people know about St Etienne having the most titles because it happened in the past and thus, we can say that St Etienne is a traditional team. In today's era the team that has a lot of money or better finances at least promises a better performance but nevertheless, St Etienne still has a chance to survive in Ligue 1. But if in the second leg St Etienne doesn't change their gameplay then I think St Etienne will lose, they have to play more aggressively because this match is very important and they can't be satisfied with just leading by one goal.

They will be very lucky if they are able to find a hole in the opponent's defense and score a goal. And I also agree that it is really hard to pick a favorite in this match.

The match was almost 60 minutes but the goal there was still for St.Etienne's advantage through a quick goal from Zaydou Youssouf in the 15th minute. but looking at the current stats it looks like Auxerre didn't want to give this an easy win for St. Etienne. They now have more possession of the ball and control of midfield but unfortunately their supply has been hampered by the St. Etienne is still quite strong

I agree with you its unclear who will win this game but it seems that saint etienne has the advantage i have seen some of their games they sometimes play at a high level i think being in that relegation position does not show their true potential i think this is why i would go with them staying in ligue 1.

St-Etienne used to be in first 10 previously then 4th three or four years ago then +10 and this season relegation play-offs then to Ligue 2. They weren't good this season and deserved to be relegated although they resisted in their game vs Auxerre..

They got earlier in the second half but St Etienne answered in the last fifteen minutes. After having no goal in extra time, we had an exciting penalty shoot-outs section. St Etienne had a very bad start already by missing the first one. They still scored the remaining but couldn't prevent Auxerre from scoring all of the five. I really appreciate Auxerre in this and good luck to them here.

The problem with these teams who just play so that they are not relegated the next season is that they are not playing so that they can get better. Yes, I also agree that the start of the penalty shootout was bad for them. I always think when it goes to the penalty shootout it becomes a luck factor for both teams. And starting the shootout by missing the first one is obviously not ideal and they paid the price for it. Congratulations to Auxerre, I hope they will be able to prove why they are promoted.

Saint Etienne's performance this season was very poor. They have lost 20 matches. The Auxerre team is really better than the Etienne. Maybe the Auxerre team doesn't have quality players like Etienne. But the bonding between their players is very nice. And their overall gameplay is much better and more stable than Etienne's. The Auxerre team has qualified to play in Ligue 1.
