Yep. Both will relegate and both don't deserve to be in Ligue 1 but if you ask me , 50% of Ligue 1 teams are simply extra in this championship as none of them can fight with the big teams. This is another reason of why Ligue 1 won't sell to TV stations anymore , because they don't have internal competition and even if you brought in Messi , it won't save the championship overall.

At least Bundesliga knows this and they're trying to boost internal competition and let small teams to keep their great players and the effects can already be seen when small teams are trying to fight for top10.

Both teams are sharing the spoil and that is the best result for them tonight. If any team wins, it will weaken the other team the more. For the football to be fair I will like to see a draw tonight. It is about 55mins into the second half and Both teams are playing 2:2 draw. Even the match manages to end in draw Lorient could be the luckiest to escape the relegation.

Lorient, St. Etienne and Clermont all has good chances of running  away from the relegation if they want and the result of tonight match will have a very big impact in their race to escape the schaclkes of relegation.

If you ask me i would not say lucky; Lorient ended up the game with a 6-2 victory over Etienne and that shows that it was a very good executed performance by the Lorient team. Now lorient has sent etienne to the relegation spots atleast for tonight. The big questions remain can they beat the drop? i think not.

I think that the Lorient - St Etienne game is going to stay as the most absurd one of the week.    Lorient put on a wonderful show against their opponent today. It was a huge 6-2 victory for them but the most amazing part was that they brought the score to this from a 0-2 disadvantage. It was already 4-2 before the red card. And that red card finished St Etienne's hopes completely for certain. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to see a game like this. This league is boring generally but this kind of games are really special.

Match has ended with 6-2 and it was totally unexpected. I thought that Lorient would not be able to win that match. But they have done it perfectly. What a come back from Lorient and a great victory for them. They have played really well in this match.

After having decent performance in first half, St Étienne lost this match in the worst way with score of 6 - 2 and with this defeat now they are at 18 place and Lorient is having 16 place in league table. I was expecting a good match with both teams are equal in quality, but Red Card play a vital role and home side ruin St Étienne in second half with four goals Moffi and Kone have good match as both players done two goals each.

Now after 31st round things are very clear in relegation zone St Étienne was at bottom but their recently form bring them to 18th place now next week they have chance to improve if they beat Brest at home. Lorient is also doing good as now they are at 16 and can stay at this place for some more time, but next week it's tough as they are going against inform Nice.

The overturn of tonight's match was dramatic. As of 60 minutes into the second half the secure was 2: 2 and I didn't believe that Lorient can score four goals within 30 minutes to change the narrative. Well, St Etienne is now looking endangered in the relegation zone. While there is still hope for them, for now kudos to Lorient for a deserved winning. They already scored 4 goals before the Red card of Neyou Y, so it was a clear win for them.

Therefore, it is very likely that Pochettino will be sacked as PSG's main coach at the end of this season, even though PSG managed to win
the Ligue 1 trophy. Because as everyone knows PSG's main target is to win the Champions League trophy this season, and they should be

I don’t know for some reason it feels that Poch is a hyped up coach that ultimately fails to deliver be it the champions league final loss, or properly utilising this experienced squad hence if he’s asked to leave it’ll be justified unless the player’s request he be given more time.

Furthermore Zidane also cannot convert them into champions league winners in his first season if he takes charge, and I hope the management will realise that it’ll take at least 2 - 3 seasons for the new coach to challenge for the champions league trophy.

 

PSG has the best players in the world, and zidane is an excellent coach, he wouldn't be at PSG to make the team from scratch, he already has better players he just needs to put discipline on the players and also improve the PSG defense that has been The cancer of the team, I just don't see any reason for him to take 2 to 3 years to win the champions league. It is with these players that PSG think that any excellent coach can make PSG the champion of the league of champions in just 1 year. PSG have problems in defence, if they could improve the defense and get the players to play seriously they would win everything. but unfortunately, due to the weakness of the French skies, PSG players do not make an effort because there is a league where there are weak teams, they don't have opponents

PSG have to improve their away matches records because 3 times in a row lose from away matches is not good records for them and today against Clermont their consistency will be tested whether PSG can able to win or not although PSG has comfortable in the top of standings league but their position is not fully secured and actually Clermont is a weak team even after got poor performance lately they only 1 point above from relegated zone and PSG should be able to win from this team

They are doing good indeed and might end second but their next games aren't that easy vs Monaco, Strasbourg and Marseille. Well OM is keeping up the second place most of the time and they are 1 match less than Rennes, has also hard games left. If Nice play it well, they could profit from the situation there and pass them but they aren't that consistent lately.

Clermont is an easy opponent for PSG to beat in this match and it can be seen from how PSG started their dominance game and have scored 2 goals in 20 minutes of the first half. So this is an opportunity to improve their away record with a win. Neymar and Mbappe have so far scored a goal each thanks to an assist from Messi, all three players are in fine form at the moment.

If PSG continue to dominate the game like this then they will win this match with a high number of goals because I saw them creating quite a lot of chances in the first half. Ramos provided balance in PSG's defense in this match, so they should be able to end the game with a clean sheet today.

It looks like that will not happen, even though Rennes are currently in second place in Ligue 1, Marseille still overshadows them in third position. As we can see in the image below, Marseille is still 1 game away from Rennes. And this is the reason why I don't believe Rennes will end up in second place in Ligue 1 later.

We'll see Marseille's match against Montpellier tomorrow and I'm sure Marseille won't waste this opportunity. FYI, in the first meeting between Marseille and Montpellier this season, Montpellier lost by a score of 2 - 3 and it looks like this will happen again at the Vélodrome Stadium.

Montpellier is not an easy opponent I think, even H2H between the clubs can both score goals quite as well. It can be concluded that Marseille is quite a bothered by montpellier's actions, however I also believe that Marseille will not miss this opportunity to get points. Rennes had an important win today over Reims by 3-2. They got 3-0 ahead already in the game but Reims were nearly making a comeback against them though. Rennes still were able to secure a decent win . And now, they have guaranteed closing up the week as the third team in the standings in the worst case. But they have the second spot now too. They will hope for Marseille to lose against Montpellier to keep that position but it is very difficult to see I believe. But let's just see as everything is possible in football.

One thing that keeps bothering me about PSG is how they are always allowing their opponents to get a goal...like come on regardless of who they play, these guys can't just defend even when they are able to get 6 goals but that dent of conceding still sticks!!!

I will say this again,  these guys could be champs here in Ligue1 but other competitions they will be destroyed for failing to defend which they need to work on to be a far much better team in the future to compete for other European cups and all.

You forget to mention that Lionel Messi has an hattrick of assists tonight as well in the french league (must be some record?). They are oncourse to win the French league this season

It was an easy win for PSG this week. Neymar and Mbappe scored hattrick while Messi scored hattrick for his assists in this week's match. Thus PSG has the right to collect 71 points from 31 matches which is certainly safe enough to win the title this season even before the season ends.

The good thing about this match is that Ramos is back on the pitch for the full time and he has made the PSG defense better thanks to his experience. Ramos should have been able to contribute to the team from the start, but injuries forced him out of the team for several months which made PSG's defense fragile and ended up failing in the Champions League. Mbappe has so far collected 20 goals and 14 assists, while Messi has only collected 3 goals and 13 assists in the league. I don't think it's too bad for Messi to be the assist king this season for PSG, it's a good thing for him to start his career in a different league.
