Staying in PSG for an extra year is the best option  he could pick so far because he tried to force a transfer to Realmadrid and it attracted some punishment to him, whereby he was forced to train with the Junior team, and even had his release clause increased to chase away possible European clubs that would come for his demand this summer, so tell me if you're in Mbappe's situation what would you had done.
 We all know the only club that could buy him even with the  release clause is a Saudi league club, and Mbappe turned down a deal with Al-Hilal because it's not beneficial to his career which is true, he's a younger and talented world class,and still has alot to achieve in Europe rather than going to the Saudi Pro League because of money, at least he'll play for PSG for one more season even participate in the Champions League with, probably get the Ligue trophy and then move to a top European team next summer for a lower fee as permitted in his new contract and release clause.

There's been reports in different sports tabloids in France suggesting that the France national team captain is in advanced talk with the club to extend his contract with the club beyond the end of this season. If the club can convince and keep their talisman at the club, then PSG will be a huge force in the European stage this season

I also heard that Mbappe has agreed to extend his one-year contract at PSG, so the Mbappe problem is over. But if asked how they will look next season when they are in the Champions League competition, I don't think it will be much different because they used to have such a great attacking trio, but it was very difficult to compete in the Champions. Real Madrid prefer waiting until Mbappe contract expiry next season and not have spent much money for fees transfer,

Well, the way things are going right now, I genuinely believe that Real Madrid will not have to spend too much to get him. Actually, Real Madrid will get him as a free agent on the next season.

But have good news with Mbappe already back to main teams and he will play for PSG on second match after his name withdrew from squad list on the first match. Transfer window will close two weeks later and I am not sure with Mbappe will leave PSG, however one year contract left he will stay until his contract over and has possibility with PSG on next window transfer January for selling him or become free agent next season.

I personally still don't believe Mbappe will leave, because in reality Mbappe is still very unstable at this age. Because yes, if PSG can increase his salary then at least, this can also make Mbappe willing to stay. But yes, let's just wait until the end of the season, will Mbappe disappoint Real Madrid again or maybe, Mbappe will really leave PSG for free.
