Seeing Lyon's current condition which is in decline, I don't think Benzeman will accept Lyon's offer to play in Ligue 1, even though he already became famous while playing at Lyon before leaving for Real Madrid. The society is not as free an the European way of life, so Benzema might not be comfortable with the strict complaint of the Sharia law. I think most of the players that went to SPL did that for money but it seems they are gradually understanding that money is not everything. If the French striker wants to leave Saudi, he would have othis high pay and some too clubs might be willing to sign him because he has experience and is a good finisher. The present days of Lyon are bad but even the future of the team is uncertain. I agree with you that they should try to recruit younger players to improve the team and for the long term also.
In French Cup games for example, Lyon won but that was against a very lower that was playing with 10 players only.
It was Nantes, Toulouse and Reims resuls that were bad and got eliminated from the Cup, otherwise Marseille got kicked after penalties versus Rennes which should be a feasible game for Marseille!
