The competitiveness of Ligue 1 isn't dependent on just a team been able to win PSG and probably get to the top of the standings, Nice actually got to the top of the standing at some point this season but the competition will come in if other teams are able to put up a struggle to the top while PSG will literally have to struggle along side as seen in the bundesliga.

It becomes interesting when there are more than two team struggling to getting to the top and even the giant of the league literally have to struggle, if other teams in the premier league can literally come up strategically to put an end to the era of dominance by PSG then you will see the birth of competition amongst teams in the Ligue because at that point every team will want to believe it's possible to get to the top so all their focus will be on getting their not minding who has always been there just like Girona is doing in the la Liga as against Madrid and Barcelona.

Last year there were players like Messi and Neymar playing for PSG. And as we all know, Luis Enrique has a better understanding of Messi and what he needs to provide Messi to make a team succeed., since he has managed Messi for a long time and won the Uefa Champions League with him. But then again, he had one of the best squads in Barcelona, and he did not win it every season. This league is the league of the champions, and beating the champions is not easy. Manchester City deserved the Championship last season.

We cannot for sure say that Luis Enrique would have won them the championship. But I would say there was a way better chance. But this season, I don't think they can win it. They still lack the mentality to win the Champions League. Ligue 1 is like a picnic and I don't think it even matters to them anymore if they win the Ligue 1. The clear favorites this season are Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Beating these 3 big teams will be the biggest hurdle for PSG. PSG did not even do well in the group stage and there was a chance in the last game week that they could have been eliminated out of the group. So I don't think they will be able to win this time. Their playoff opponent is Real Sociedad and I think they will struggle to even beat them.

I think money matters most in league where there isn't a lot of money already. It wouldn't make the same difference for Manchester City to invest a billion now and become twice as valuable as they are and the second most valuable team in the Premier League is. Whereas the value gap in Ligue 1 is huge between PSG and then all the rest. That's where it makes a difference in the domestic league, but you can see how the advantage vanishes when PSG plays against other teams that are also financially strong and have some of the global superstars within their teams. Money can't do much then. PSG has tried when they bought Messi and Neymar in addition to also having Mbappe.

Luis Enrique is without doubt one of the best managers in Europe at the moment and that's why I was very surprised with his performance with Paris Saint Germaine in his first few weeks at the club. He didn't start the season on a very good note as the club lost few games and dropped points on games they were supposed to win outrightly. However, I think it was as a result of the fact that he didn't have full experience about the PSG.

Since he leant about the best tactical approach that brings out the best from the team, they've flourishing in the league as well as in Europe. Hopefully he's gonna win the UEFA champions league for the club probably not this season but in the nearest seasons

Mbappe rejected Real Madrid in January well I can’t say this is crazy especially as then man was young and needed that spotlight and the money too. Though his bad decision then is now haunting and probably that could be bye bye to his dreams of playing at the Bernabeu. But will the general team be composed to compete for titles to at least lay hands on the UCL because there league is a farmer’s league and they’ll keep succeeding there.

Lyon has not found a safe point in the standings list, position 15 with 16 points is still very vulnerable. The poor results that continued to be achieved in the 1nd half must be evaluated when the January transfer window opens, Lyon still deserves to stay in Ligue 1. Marseille can't be competitive for top 3 in the league so far unlike the previous season. They weren't able to stay in the title competition previously maybe but they at least earned the last Champions League ticket by finishing as third. Marseille is still out from the top 5 at this moment and i expect this club to enter into the top 5 as soon as possible. Manchester United condition is very bad and of course the performance of all the Manchester United players is not as striking as, Anthony Martial himself striker owned by Manchester United, but he failed to become reliable striker.
In the 13 matches he participated in for Manchester United, he was only able to provide 1 goal and for UCL, in 4 matches he was only able to provide 1 assist.
The English League itself has reached the 20th round and Anthony Martial only played in 13 matches for the UCL, but in the group phase there were 6 matches and he only played in 4 matches, from this it can be proven that Anthony Martial is not player that Ten Hag always relies on.
We also know that Ten Hag will prefer to sell his players if they cannot perform well and of course this will happen with Anthony Martial.

But there is one thing they can't buy and this has been mentioned here before in the thread and that is competition. They can't buy high level competition and therefore they play below their maximum level most of the time and then when they have a game in the Champions League they suddenly need to play on a higher level. I think that is a huge disadvantage because imagine you are a marathon runner and you never compete with the best runners in the whole world for a whole year. You can check their times, that is different of course, but in general the idea is that the best runners push you to new maximum performance levels. That is what PSG doesn't have in Ligue 1.

There is no competition in Ligue 1 for PSG. They always dominate and if any other team wants to take over PSG's throne in Ligue 1, it will be tough competition.
If financially the French clubs can't keep up with PSG, then what happens every season will only be like this. PSG's dominance in Ligue 1 will be unmatched. and as you said, that will also be PSG's weakness when they have to be forced to play with other teams in Europe who are used to tough competition.

In the long run it harms the league and then every once in a while, like maybe once in a decade or so, you can see that PSG has some struggles because they can't motivate themselves and have many legacy players who have won the title eight times, another club comes forward and has a remarkable run for a season and eventually wins the trophy once. Then that is the wake up call for PSG again and the cycle restarts. PSG is focused again and wins ten titles in a row.

Look at the German Bundesliga where Bayern Munich has won all Bundesliga titles for over a decade I think. The gap between them and the rest isn't quite as big as it is in Ligue 1, but still it is enough to dominate the league forever. It is boring for the people who love football and want competition in their domestic leagues.

There is nothing fun about seeing the same team win all the time even when it is the fans who are cheering for PSG.
