French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1)

League 1 is certainly dominated by PSG, it is a fact that we often see every season in the French League 1, therefore it is not strange for PSG to be at the top of the standings, that is the default for League One in my opinion.
It's not too boring, but unfortunately we can already guess who will get the trophy to take home, so there is nothing to wait for by other teams.
Monaco has worked very well and they deserve all the awards even though they will still be below PSG in the standings.

Ligue 1 2020-2021 season won by Lille could be repeated if teams like Monaco and Marseille give better performances to disrupt PSG's dominance. We have never seen another team that can disrupt PSG's current dominance, it is very difficult for other teams to develop in Ligue 1.
Last season we saw PSG win the Ligue 1 trophy with only 2 defeats, and now they are unbeaten in 12 matches. While other teams have experienced inconsistent play.

If that happens, I think definitely not this season and maybe not even next season. Ligue 1 has become like the Bundesliga and will probably stay that way if PSG don't suddenly start losing, which is unlikely to happen dramatically if you face it. The only thing PSG don't excel in is the Champions League, they're almost in the relegation zone there now

PSG is getting further away and difficult to catch up with, but at least the competition between the teams below PSG is still quite interesting with the points gap still close. But yes, Monaco should also be able to make its position quite safe if in the next match Monaco is able to beat Marseille. Years ago if we were o discuss the French league, PSG obviously aren't the strongest, I mean from. Decade a go but since they built their strength to his level, they have been able to maintain it through this years except for a few times when they get to struggle around and lost the title to others in the French league. Mbappe wasn't and isn't the only good player PSG had a d that is why even after his exit, they are still doing well in their domestic league even without a perfect replacement.

I have no doubt that they will win the title this season, because they have all the advantages needed to be able to defend the title again. In Ligue 1 they are the only club that has all the needs that a club needs to be a champion and the most prominent is their financial side which can bring in many quality players to be in the squad. It's quite boring to see only them who can do that and it can't be denied that this is one of the things that makes the competition in Ligue 1 less interesting. It is just a matter of time but I still feel there will come a time when PSG will be outplayed in that competition and won’t get the chance to win anything in the league. They have dominated that league for a very long time now just like Bayern Munich did in the Bundesliga. It was a thing of shock when Bayern Leverkusen beat them home and away and even won the trophy few games to the end of the season. It is a replica of that I want to see happening in the coming seasons for the Ligue 1. The time of PSG is fast approaching and coming to an end already and when it does, a team we don’t expect to pull this though will do it and do it very perfect without any sense of doubt at that time. If that can happen to Bayern Munich, then I feel it can also happen to PSG when the right time comes.

Reims is more productive, but they are quite weak in defense. Reims have conceded 16 goals so far from 12 matches, while Lens tends to be stronger in defense. I think it will be a draw regardless of the score, but Lens appear to be favorites based on probability.

The opening match in Ligue 1 was quite fun and entertaining. Because, it is a match between clubs that are already quite good. Even initially their points were quite close, but Lens managed to beat Reims, so that currently Lens is in the top 6 for the time being. Reims had higher chance to shots, but Lens could really optimize the shots as targeted to be goal, and they deserved for the win.

That was the most fun to me and that is why I think it is quite boring when you win a game 5-0 and you scored 2 or 3 goals. It is fun for a while, but time will come when emotions go away, that was at least the case for me personally. It's not enjoyable. That is why Ligue 1 needs at least one more team to level up their game with the help of money to make it an interesting league again.

Lens could steal a win when visiting Reims Headquarters, they could win with a score of 0-2 and ensure they brought home 3 points. In terms of the game, both teams actually played a fairly balanced game, only Lens was more creative in building attacks so that 1 goal was created in the first half and 1 goal in the second half. The power that PSG has built has only been able to dominate Ligue 1 for the past few years, they will still hold the role as the best team in Ligue 1 because no other team has been able to compete in the title hunt, maybe this season they will defend the title again if you look at the number of points that have been collected so far. But what kind of analysis is this...

Could you come up with a reason why PSG is performing bad in the Champions League but doing well in the French league? I can tell you that it is simple, but I am surprised you couldn't come up with it.

Ligue 1 sucks like hell and then there is one club that is receiving billions over the year. What do you think will happen when one club receives billions and the other teams are much poorer?

In the Champions League PSG is confronted with some of the best teams and they immediately meet their limits and can't win the games anymore.

PSG vs Nantes, I believe that PSG is highly favored because Nantes is not a strong team at the moment. However, I believe after seeing that several times Nantes was able to provide resistance of at least 1 score when playing against other popular teams. And for Rennes vs Saint-Etienne, actually Rennes should be able to win this match. However, in fact Saint-Etienne still has a great chance to hold this match to a draw because Rennes has an unstable defense.

Rennes vs St Etienne

I don't know why Brest performance was decline this season because from 12 matches in Ligue 1 Brest has suffering 7 loses even Brest got 3 consecutive loses in all competitions and the latest is Brest lost from Barcelona with huge scores on Champion league and Brest position also out from top 10 and Brest also only have 3 difference points above the teams from relegation zone

Actually Strasbourg condition also not so different because they only get 1 win from 6 latest matches and about this match i think Brest has good chances to return to the winning ways and beat Strasbourg and why i am saying this because sometimes Brest can performing well at their home and during this season Brest can gets several important winning at their home so i think potentially they can be the winner of this match and Brest has odds @2.17
