Manchester United are finally finishing their centre-back transfer with Lisandro Martinez. Arsenal seem like no longer a rival for them in this race. Manchester United are expected to pay 43 million pounds to sign him. After this transfer they will need to sign a midfielder also. I don't know about Frenkie de Jong yet as Barcelona are still not too willing to sell him. But if Manchester United are ready to pay the amount Barcelona want then this deal is likely to happen. But Manchester United would need to pay a sum like 85 million euros in total.

I don't think very much should be read into that Man U victory over Liverpool. Yes, 4-0 sounds quite comprehensive, but it has to be taken in context. It's not a competitive match, and not only is it pre-season, it's early pre-season and players are still getting fit. But the biggest reason is the players they put out, Liverpool made so many substitutions, they had over 30 different players appearing in total.

Am not disputing the fact that United's 4:0 win against Liverpool was a friendly match and Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp also did so many changes in his starting lineup, but there was a bit of change in the performance of Manchester United players. Regardless of the match and how many changes were made nobody is overrating the tactical display seen in the United squad but the victory will serve as a morale boaster to the team and that is what Manchester United really needs this season. With the fitness I saw in the United team, I believe they will do better that last season.

It's interesting to have a big club in the EPL. Man city dumped a lot of its players at one league clubs. Sterling to chelsea and Jesus to Arsenal. In this case, apart from heating up the engine, the players are here to see which formations and schemes are suitable.

Pre season match I think not really important what ever result actually with Liverpool not really serious faced after defeating by Manchester United, I think just prepare for team formation next season and pre season match always give chance with not regular position player. I think match between Manchester United vs Liverpool last several days as commercial for both team, they know South East Asia exactly with Thailand have fantastic fans and Liverpool or Manchester United there just try to be close with their fans, what ever result is not matter but how commercial benefit earn by both team.

Maguire had been retained as Man Utd captain so that put the speculations of being confined to the bench to rest, Erik Ten Hag had name him as the captain for next season and I very sure he will command a regular starting shirt in the team, though his performance last season was very poor and very not encouraging while majority of their fans are disappointed with his performances despite the huge fees paid for his signing from Leceister City, however with their new manager in helm of affairs, I hope to watch a reinvigorated Maguire marshalling and coordinating Man Utd defence line next season.

Maguire is an expensive defender and indeed before he was at United he performed quite well but when he was at United he really became a clown and was always made fun of.
Now it's actually too risky in my opinion to put him at defender in the line-up. Regardless, his performances have been very poor this season.

Manchester United's position from Maguire is weird. He was directly implicated in many goals received by the team, his attitudes in the field were a joke and complication was done for that specifically, yet, they refused to let him move to Barca which bizarrely wanted him to join them, they even mentioned that he will remain the captain and he is in the planning of the team..
I believe he will start in the starting eleven for a couple of games before letting him as substitute in case he will continue playing miserably.
