Liverpool's midfield last season was an unmitigated disaster. Harvey Elliott? Too young, too inexperienced. But with Mac Allister and Szoboszlai now in the ranks, things are looking slightly better. That said, here's where I take issue. Our defensive midfield is practically hanging by a thread. Fabinho is our only hope, and Bajcetic, isn't exactly the most reassuring backup. What Liverpool needs right now is another seasoned defensive midfielder. After that, they can focus on other areas. But until they fix this, I can't see them challenging City or anyone else for that matter.

The midfield is the key to their game, and when their midfield doesn't work as expected, then we see how they struggle to get into the rhythm of the game and that has an impact on their results. Jurgen Klopp realized that and he immediately moved when the transfer window opened, the result was 2 midfielders who had good abilities they managed to bring in.
The 2 midfielders they brought in have excellent attacking abilities, and also they can neutralize the midfield to be more creative in building attacks. It was a good start, but they also had to pay attention to the touches in other sectors, because last season almost all positions had different problems, so don't let it become their weak point next season.

Jurgen Klopp knows what he's doing but I don't want us to overemphasize the importance of the midfield of Liverpool, they are doing well as far as I'm concerned, though better performance could be encouraged. All the positions of players need to be good for every club, the attack, defence and midfield. I believe Liverpool needs to replicate this, they still do not have that viable firepower as far as I know, and improvement in their defence is equally vital.

If you understand Ten Hag very well you will know that he don't want De Gea to be his first keeper, Ten Hag is not the type of coach that criticise his players openly, He know what he wants, he want a ball playing keeper and David is not one, I would have preferred Diego coasta to Onana, that does not mean Onana is not good but i doubt his consistence for many years to come
