a lot of talking about uno but no action !! people please , buy and sell uno so there is VOLUME !! we need to bee listed higher on coinmarketcap

That is some what true. I have finally got my hands upon some uno solely for trading, so i will try my hand at that! It seems the marketcap is really just a measure of how popular the coin is. It isn't really a good representation of anything else, not that i can see but i am certainly open to education on that one. I think the better figure to consider is the new coins purchased type of thing. That number just has more weight in consideration for me. Volume is nice though because it gets other people interested in the coin. Given the current movements, that in combination with a concerted effort on our end, can certainly help make the effects greater.

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!

NARF ... P&D volume is thy enemy ... but it will find us one day soon

re: priceindependence

1. the charts show UNO sticks to a $ peg not a BTC peg (or a $market cap level)
that is one strike against BTC the almighty ... in the spring all coins moved with BTC

2. the trade volume this last week showed the soft under belly of BTC the almighty
BTC v "The next 10" traded dollar for dollar

3. all it takes is a good solid week of UNO mining more profitably than BTC and XXXXXTH will be multipool directed to mine "whoever is the most profitable SHA"

4. Risk/Reward ... BTC lowish ... UNO boomish

5. Personally I won't hold BTC.  Too damn tainted by crook and hook.  (but I doubt the general public will every give a damn on that mark)

6. Even the popular BTC pundits are starting to suggest that BTC could fall.

7. Logic.  BTC was the first, but it ain't the best algo. (inflationary well into the 2020s)

Believe it or not.  BTC could fall.

My conclusion is that BTC likely has a 100 year reign as honorary king of crypto currency, but gradually the general public will be able to cipher out that it subject to flux and not well suited for wealth storage nor quick transactions nor anon buys nor robust security nor innovation given the other better crypto solutions for that.  It will just be a legacy benchmark coin captured by the 'old money' crowd in the early days.

I don't think volume is an enemy really. It shows, to me anyway, a willingness of people to seek the coin. If the coin isn't traded, no one cares.

In my travels it seems there are two types of polarities in crypto types. You have those who are very altruistic in their approach and see this as a new dawn of man sorta thing.

You have the other extreme where people saw the opportunity to make money money make money money and hopped aboard.

You have a million shades and gradients between those that everyone falls into.

The concept of Bitcoin falling is an interesting one. I don't think it is something people consider, or want to consider. Not impossible. I don't see it happening any time soon without some type of big scandal taking place. Like that one super pool doing a 51% attack on the btc chain or something, other than that.. i dunno.

The reasons you mentioned about innovation will be why there is going to be a coin that sneaks into second between btc and ltc.  Btc, to me, will show the world what the blockchain can do, and has the network to support the chain for quite some time. Ltc was a cool thing, won't die, but lacks any real innovations. I don't think uno will take second among the marketcap or top traded coins either, it isn't poised for that. It is like trying to fit the square peg in the round hole. It will be a coin with the features you mentioned. There is no reason Uno won't be in the top ten though, which i think is a fair place to put it. Right now it is looking boomish, but eventually maybe uno is like bonds? Nice and safe. Not crazy return, but something. I don't think there is anything that fits that place right now, and i don't see it as being a bad place to be. We aren't a coin for pumping or dumping.

The way the current in house exchange has been operating and such, puts us inline for bonds. What secures the value of a bond? The fact that someone will buy it from you for X amount of dollars Y time frame later? So if we say until october the minimum sale price is 48, starting october, we sell at 52mini and buy at 48mini, next two weeks, sell at 62 and buy at 52. The numbers don't matter, but if we started making purposeful trades with objectives in mind for where we think and would like to see the coin. If we all did this on the exchanges as well, which is one of the benefits of being on only a handful of exchanges, easier to achieve things like this, without being viewed as "centralized". Markets are made. We CAN do this. Or maybe we can't? What does it take, 1000 btc at 400 bucks to keep the coin at 2 bucks each. Or if we don't look at btc, $400k. That is more money than i have atm lol. I just have this image in my mind that if you can some how establish floors people see that as the lowest, while seeing opportunities and buying to hold. More so if they know that over time, even if it is a small increase, they will get something. The way the inflation is set up here does put is in a unique position to do something like that, but i dunno, just thinking.

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!

@ Sirsmokes: your expression of Uno's function is almost exactly mine. (But I plump for high transactional volume).

@ Bitcoin National: I suggest that The Wolong Episode has sort of 'immunised' Unobtanium against P-and-Ds. Once bitten . . .

@gustav genius idea. This has been overlooked by everybody for a long time. Pretty easy to calculate and potentially a great tool for trading. That supply/demand calculation is revolutionary. Could help Uno a lot to get more recognized. Great stuff.

Lots of good news these days. I like that.

The last 30 days have seen a steady rise in UNO price, even as Btc has fallen.

Accumulators gonna accumulate.

A little bit of a pull back from .005, where there's more willing sellers. This is a good time to pick up some more $uno in the mid .004's before the run up to .006. based on this month-long trajectory.  Very interesting to see the decoupling from Bitcoin price.  Many traders seem to relate the price of Un now to the dollar, which is in that $2-$2.50 range for the moment..

A quick word of caution to those who would like to play the dice games I provide here:

http://cryptap.us/uno/dice

The first rule of the games is that you MUST use a wallet where you are in control of the sending address. It appears that webwallets like coinwallet.co operate in such a way where you may NOT be in control of the sending address (which is typical of hot-wallet sites like exchanges and mining accounts). Therefor it is not recommended that you play from those wallets.

Known UNO wallets were you are in control of your sending addresses would be the main Unobtanium-QT wallet, and jswallet which can be found here: http://cryptap.us/uno/jswallet

Regards,

Edit: I should also add that although it is cumbersome, you can also play directly from a paper of physical wallet by using manual transactions created from the brainwallet "Transactions" tab which can be found here: http://cryptap.us/uno/brainwallet

brain wallet disscussion *note comments by natmccoy
before you create a 'brain wallet' for any coin I strongly suggest you research why brain wallets are no longer available for btc

Cryptopia wallet: 1,730 UNO.  https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?176686.htm
BITTREXZ https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?111795.htm 4%
Cryptsy's 17% is the ridiculous one.
BLEUTRADE WALLET: 800 UNO 0.4% of all coins. Very reasonable amount.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?129320.htm
Yep, that's the Bittrex wallet. I traced the exchange wallets a few months ago by withdrawing from them.

Bittrex: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?111795.htm

Cryptopia: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?176686.htm

Bleutrade: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?129320.htm

Lots of the Cryptsy coins have indeed been moving to Bittrex, but last I checked it was not the majority. The coins are safer in Bittrex, and as long as our "total in exchanges" value continues to decline it's even better.

Oh, BitcoinCharlie: To check distribution data just click on the "distribution" tab above the graph on the UNO/BTC market page on Bittrex.

Full circle - I was here mostly alone 3 years ago [except for Deadsea] and now it ends the same way?
Tragic ending...

Whenever I'm down just need to read the "[UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion" thread ... things are a crack'n and the future looking brighter by each and every post.  I will be getting on a jet plane and swinging around the planet very soon.  So I will be rather quiet for about 4weeks.  Maybe might use a sockpuppet to say hi!  I don't like using secured passwords on other peoples PCs ... so I must apologies on delaying some delivery ... @Blazr yes I am still working on a certain html project, I know slow but best having it right rather than wrong.

project idea #120

usb bootable wallets (:preloaded:)

On my wish list:
Cool looking physical Uno coins in a 10 un denomination or higher
A multi-pool where I can mine more profitable Scrypt coins with these cheap scrypt asics and auto convert into Uno would be great.
Merge mining of Un to increase profitability for miners.
Android wallet

That's just me talking, not speaking for the dev team by any means. What kind of things would you like to see?

Well Blazr talked like merged mining was not an if, rather a when. I hope he can go a bit further on the juicy stuff when he has the time.

I think a multipool would be cool, it would add some more pressure to those on the fence about buying uno now.

The coins would be cool if ya are into physical keep sakes and stuff like that.

I dunno about the android wallet though. I don't mind my uno being my "vault". Sort of a pain in the ass to get to, but nothing too crazy. At the same time to have some uno on my phone, to be able to give people a couple after talking to them about it, it does help garner interest. I would rather see a scrypt pool then an android wallet if we are able to place these things into some type of favorable order but the wallet is still a good idea.

Before i knew the coin, i knew the color in glass. As a result, this is the color that i always think of when i come here:

It looks a lot more awesome in person!

We can't grow when we won't criticize ourselves!

@ Falling Knife: my ignorance of mining is almost literally total; but I have gleaned that this community is rich in mining-knowledge. So, if a Scrypto-to-Uno auto-convert project were raised, I would like to be involved.

And, as I am unapologetically pro-transactional-volume, I think an android wallet is a fabulous idea. If one unit of Unobtanium is in cold storage, it's a commodity. If another unit of Unobtanium is functioning as a currency, it's bringing us facility and publicity.

@ Mr. Transactional: an interesting thing is becoming apparent. My trading-budget is tiny (not a complaint). And the transactional project incurs some costs (not a complaint). But consider this, guys:

the moment you choose to use Unobtanium as a currency, you realise that you need a considerable pool to draw from. I had about 80 hard-won Uno when I decided to be Mr. Transactional. Now I have 280, and a budget of 1 BTC for acquisition. I can spend 50-70 Uno per fortnight on groceries. I can pay 50 Uno to get gas. So, the 'pool Uno' are available to trade in the meantime. (So . . . I gotta learn to trade gooder.)

@ Mona Coin: it is the only coin outperforming us at present -- but it's chart reveals a familiar pattern. It had a big First Spike, and has been declining since. The very moment it 'dips below the mark' -- which may be months away or never -- Unobtanium becomes the most stable established altcoin.

ok, numbers of today taken from coinmarketcap.

24h volume divided by price = number of coins traded
'number of coins traded in 24h' divided by 'number of new coins in 24h' = the demand/supply indicator (see blow)

value 22,3 for btc (with volume of 80k btc - 3600 new coins a day)
value 33,1 for ltc (volume of 10740 btc worth - 29500 new coins a day)
value 14,8 for uno (volume of 2 btc worth - 30 new coins a day)
value 39 for drk (volume 1000 btc - 2880 new coins a day)
value 3,2 for vtc ( volume 20btc - 28800 new coins a day)

these numbers were calculated with what coinmarketcap shows. So a very small 2 btc volume on uno in 24h (around 444 coins divided by 30) gives us volume 14,8 times greater than supply on new coins. Bitcoin needs 34 million dollars traded to only strike slightly above that number. Uno would not need much more than 5 btc tradevolume a day to beat them all in the inflation-to-tradevolume indicator.
And guys, 2 btc tradevolume is really nothing if you think about it. Can take a jump any time. This was a day of low volume for uno and high volume for the other coins.
I think it's amazing how uno can compete on that indicator with the heavily traded coins. Takes only very little volume for uno to beat the other coins on that.
I came to the conclusion, uno is a sleeping giant.
Would be interesting to calculate it on 30days - intervals, but where to get the data?
Also pos-coins are hard to calculate without exact information on how much was minted.

Moolah said in a blog post yesterday:

"At this stage, we are not removing any coins from [MintPal] V1 in the migration. Every coin currently on the platform will be given a chance to prove itself, though every coin will also be eligible for delisting as per our previously published guidelines (ref: route to removal). "

It's official. Un is no longer in imminent danger of being delisted from MintPal v2. Thank you to those of you who stepped in to lobby Moolah on behalf of Un.
