RESULT:

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 Southampton

Wolves managed to equalise with 15 minutes left on the clock but Southampton were leading yet could not hold on. Wolves managed to put up a good fight after going a goal down and got the goal. Wolves sit 3 points behind Southampton in the premier league table now.

Unpredictable EPL is going on as today we have some shocking results again and many questions need to be asnwered as VAR is killing beauty of soccer Liverpool 2 goals dissallowed draw with Brighton Manchester City thrash Burnley 5 - 0 unpredictable Everton lost at home against new comer Leeds and now West Bromwich is leading by 1 - 0 hopefully they will have first win of this seson because they need desprately this one right now.

Here are are the results for the games that took place earlier:

Well, who would have thought Liverpool would drop points at Brighton? And an injury time penalty got Brighton a point. Manchester City demolished Burnley, one team is fighting to get to the European 4th spot and the other is in the relegation zone. Burnley are in big trouble because they will fight all season long just to stay in the premier league.

Not sure what is going on at Everton, they started the season so bright but they are fading away, they have lost 4 out of their 5 last premier league games meaning they have taken just 3 points from a possible 15 in the previous 5 EPL games. West Brom finally got their first win on the season on their 10th game played but they are just above the relegation zone while Sheffield United have played 10 games and lost 9, they are stuck at the foot of the table.

At the moment it is difficult to say anything about the favorite. At the start of the season you would say that Manchester City is the favorite, but they have already lost a lot of points.
Don't be surprised if they are going to win almost everything in the competition. The English competition is very strong in width. There are 5-6 teams that can become champions.
I don't include Leicester in that list.

Here is what the PL table looks like after the games played today. It will look very different at the end of the season, maybe Everton and Aston Villa will be replaced with Manchester City and Manchester United to make a top 6 with Spurs, Liverpool, Leicester and Chelsea.

Southampton are playing excellent this season, for a small club they are punching way above their weight. It shows that if a club chairperson gives the manager time to develop his team and time to work together then they can get going. Manchester United continue with their up and down season. Chelsea and Tottenham looks like it will be a top match and Arsenal I think will struggle against Wolves.

A game of two halves really.... first half Southampton 2-0 Manchester United and in the second half it was Southampton 0-3 Manchester United. Southampton failed to cause any real problems to Manchester United in the second half. They defended well and they tried to pass their way through the midfield but they kept losing the ball. Adams was fighting for everything and was playing excellent for Southampton, it was a pity for them they could not hold on to the lead or at least gained a point in a draw because to lose a two goal lead for a draw is bad enough but to concede three goals after leading by two goals in just disastrous. I feel sorry for Southampton.

In the second half Fernandes stepped up in the second half with a goal and he control the game in the middle of the park. Alongside him having Cavani as a striker who chased every single ball down and scored two even though he is just a few months away from being 34 years old. Manchester United now are just 5 points behind Liverpool who are top of the EPL table but they have a game in hand. If they win that game they will be just 2 points behind Liverpool. This season might be the closest one on record with Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham all fighting to become EPL champions and things will become clearer by the time 30 or so games have been played but this season will not be a two horse race between Liverpool and Manchester City.

The match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur was really boring. what on earth was going on. Both teams should have been playing attacking football but it was just boring to watch, nothing exciting at all.

As for Arsenal and Wolves, got to give credit to Nuno Espirito Santo for making a team on a limited budget such a strong force in the premier league. They are regularly challenging for a Europa League position and they are a strong attacking force.

The thing with Arsenal is that Arteta clearly is not the right person for the job of manager. Mesut Özil is theier highest earning player getting £350,000 per week (so that is around $450,000 a week) and Arteta dropped him from the squad therefore he definitely will not be playing for Arsenal again this season. His contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the 2020/21 season and he will get his full salary. How could Arteta drop him from the squad, was it related to the political comments Özil made recently in which the club distanced themselves from? Either way, it was Arteta that made a public statement saying he was responsible for ending the Arsenal career of Özil so we can take his word for it.

Just after Arsenal beat Manchester United on 1st November 2020 (28 days ago), so many people were praising Arteta and saying he was the right man for the job and were criticising Ole Gunnar Solskjær saying he will be sacked but after that match look at what happened to Arsenal they lost 2 and had a draw but Manchester United had three straight wins. I think Arteta should be replaced before the Christmas fixtures so that the next manager can start arranging his team and working with them and any players he purchases with a view to making an impact next season. Arsenal now have their worst start to a season in 39 years taking just 13 points from a possible 30 points.

West Ham United are already leading 1-0 after a few minutes of play.
You are well on track for that 2-1 score, which might even be the most logical result if you had to pick one now.
It would also not surprise me if we get a monster score.

Leicester pressed very hard at the latter stages and managed to get a goal back but well done to Fulham for hanging on and getting their second win of the season and getting 3points at Leicester is not easy. Fulham now sit one place above the relegation zone with 7 points. Leicester have 18 points and are in 4th position in the table.

West Ham United 2-1 Aston Villa


West Ham move up to 5th place in the table now, well done to them, they have taken 10 points from a possible 15 points in their last 5 games. Villa seem to be going down the table fast but if they win their game in hand they jump back up to 4th place. They showed moments of good game play but they simply were not good enough but they controlled the last 15 minutes easily but just could not get a point. A missed penalty and a goal disallowed for an offside did not help the confidence of Watkins or Villa.

I have to mentioned Greaslish here, what a player. He could easily fit in to any team, what a talent. Unfortunately for him he could not help Villa salvage a point today but credit to West Ham and Moyes.

Aston Villa is a mystery team for me, I don't follow them at all but sometimes they can beat 7-2 Liverpool and beat Arsenal 2-1, and then they can lose with weak opponents.

How this is even possible?

It is possible simply because this is the premier league we are talking about here and anything is possible. I mentioned in several posts back that it was possible for the lower placed teams to beat the higher placed teams like in no other football league. It is the best and most exciting football league in the world.

Manchester city had a good win and a clean sheet against a resurgent Fulham team who gave a good performance at least. Sterling remained himself, missed a sitter and scored 1 goal too.

Everton had a drab draw against burnley; with burnley dominating proceedings from the first minute; Ancelloti needs James rodriguez in form to aid Everton creativity; Everton last victory was away against fulham; they need to do better.

Ole rotated his midfield 4, and they struggled at west ham; but the game was alive in the second half; with West ham falling apart and blaming theirselves for missed chances. Bruno remains manchester united best creator; and with Pogba playing next to him; there is a different confidence for the team, another victory after going behind; massive away pl record. more to come perhaps ?

Chelsea also came back from behind to win against Leeds; Giroud with a goal; and Zouma also getting on the scoresheet; so far it has been impressive and good from Lampard.

Another set of surprising results in the premier league. Manchester City beat Burnley 5-0 but managed to win 2-0 against a Fulham side that played well considering their budget and they managed to concede twice in the first 26 minutes then managed to stop Manchester City from scoring again for the rest of the 75+ minutes of the game.

Everton were always going to find it tough at Burnley but Calvert-Lewin managed to score for Everton and that was his 11th of the season. Burnley are second from bottom in the league table with just 6 points but 1 point more would take them out of the relegation zone if they had a better goal difference so all is not lost for them.

Manchester United come from a goal down to win 1-3 against West Ham and Chelsea come back from a goal down against Leeds to win 3-1. Manchester United win 9 consecutive away games, only Chelsea and Manchester City have won more consecutive away wins with 11 each. West Ham played well in the first half but Manchester United dominated in the second half.

Leeds managed to score first but could not hold out as Chelsea scored three. Giroud  seems rejuvenated, he scored 4 goals in the champions league and deserved his start this evening. Chelsea are top of the premier league table now but have played a game more than the teams around them. Leeds are still playing excellent football considering they are a newly promoted team and will have a great season.

Crystal palace is already tearing apart 10men west brom Albion 1:5; in a tie where zaha has bagged 2goals already. Leicester should be able to have a convincing victory against struggling sheffield side, i predict a 1:1 draw.

Alot of peeps would be expecting mourinho and spurs to play the low block against arsenal, but I think not, arteta is known to defend with 10players, son, Kane and spurs have enough to grind out a 1:0 victory.

Liverpool and wolves should play out a 1:1 draw with Jota and neto on the scoresheet

Zaha and Benteke score two goals each for Crystal Palace who now have 16 points. It was a spirited effort by West Brom but they stood no chance against a strong Palace side. West Brom have played 11 games and have taken just 6 points from a possible 33 points, they are now second from bottom because they have conceded more goals than Burnley.

Sheffield United managed to score an equaliser just 2 minutes after Pérez put Leicester ahead but Sheffield United could score a second goal. They made things difficult for Leicester and settled for the draw to at least get a point but Vardy scored in the 90th minutes with a fantastic run from the half way line to have a one-on-one with the Sheffield United goalkeeper but he made no mistake and scored a wonderful goal.

Leicester jump up to 3rd place in the premier league table with 21 points which is the same as Tottenham who are in 2nd place.

Sheffield United are at the bottom of the table with just 1 point from a possible 33 points and look certain to be relegated at the end of the season.
