One advantage of this strategy is that there is not going to be as much competition to sponsor those sports, and at the same time it should not be as expensive to form a partnership if we compare them to some of the most popular sports around the world.

This is a risky strategy to be honest. Sports like Snooker, Pool etc are popular for sure, but they don't really attract huge betting volumes which is why sponsoring them could lead to losses overall.
