Maybe they did not notice about the onsite competition because it is possible that they are monitoring the Games and Rounds board only or maybe they are also participating on it but they do not share it with us here in this thread. This is the 2 possible reasons imo, if the first reason is what happened to them, I'd suggest duelbits to create a thread in the Games and Rounds board to announce any ongoing onsite competitions.

There's a chance that they can lock your account instantly after they found out that you are using VPN. I don't know if they allow it or not but in both cases it's a risk that you are taking. If they do allow it then it would still be a bit of a trouble because if there is a problem and they are suspicious of something that you have done and they ask for your KYC just in case, that would mean that it would cause you a trouble because you would be looking like you are from another nation.

If they do not allow it, you can still do it and I mean I did it a lot and it’s "allowed" in the sense that nobody can stop you, but if you are caught then your account will be frozen. Exactly, I remember that also. The last time there was a discussion about a VPN to play games from a blocked provider, Duelbits allows the use of a VPN and this was confirmed by Hhampuz itself. So there shouldn't be any worry to use it as long as your country is not restricted to play on Duelbits itself.
