I thought yesterday in the semifinals after Ukraine beat Scotland 3-1, I thought in the final yesterday Ukraine could beat Wales yesterday, it turns out I missed Wales vs. Ukraine won 1-0.

Not a few have hope that Ukraine can enter the Qatar 2022 world cup this time, many are disappointed by Yarmolenko's actions yesterday, whether fate or will.

But I also have to assume that the Welsh national team are very patient waiting for something like this to win and go to Qatar, Wales has been waiting for years to qualify for the World Cup, finally Wales has achieved it now, I think this is a historic moment in world football for Wales 2022, beyond expectation.

Wales is better than Ukraine and we already mentioned that. What made odds close was the fact that Ukraine passed Scotland as mentioned here by some of us.
Luck do exists but when you aren't ready, not much concentrated for a reason or another, making mistakes here and there...etc, we blame luck.
Ukrainian needed a good news but that wasn't the case. For Wales, they did it but the question is how far they could make it in World Cup in a medium group containing England, USA and Iran? You feel it a war squad there lol.

Luck is really a strong element in football. Ukraine had a really solid game against Wales and I believed that they deserved the win certainly. But this is football and everything can happen any time. The better playing team don't win always I'm afraid. Wales' goal was even an own goal too.    I assume that they wasted all of their chance in this game. Anyway, I'm sorry for the Ukranians as they would have become really happy if they had made it to the World Cup. Next time, then.

Yeah, vaccination rate in Russia is low, but according to official data, situation isn't bad there, they have just 46 cases per 100k people, while there is just few countries in Europe with below 100 cases per 100k peoppe.

There are unofficial reports claiming that up to 400,000 may have died from the virus in Russia. On top of that, the vaccination program is progressing at snail's pace. So far less than 8 million doses have been administered, because the Russians are not very enthusiastic to get themselves vaccinated. Russia is perhaps the only country right now with an oversupply of the vaccine.

Even then after the worse pandemic - Russia was ready to attack Ukraine- when the whole world is busy restoring their economy which was badly affected by COVID .

Ukraine's performance in the last few friendly and international matches was very good. Ukraine also won the last match 3-1 against Scotland. So in the same way I expected Ukraine's victory against Wales today. But unfortunately Ukraine has been defeated. Wales - Ukraine was great game, unfortunately outcome of it wasn't that I wanted. Yarmolenko mistake which ended with an own goal was huge and it would be difficult to justify it - it's not that case when ball accidentally hits player.
Ukraine had much more moments, but Henessey was like a wall today. Davies also did a lot to not let Ukraine to score.
Congrats to Wales, reach World Cup after so many years is big achievement for them.

I want Australia to win. Although they are part of the AFC, geographically Australia is a part of the Oceania continent. It is not clear yet whether New Zealand will be able to qualify or not (they need to win the playoff match against Costa Rica). Even if they manage to qualify, it will be good to have another team from Oceania. BTW, Asian teams such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia have historically performed very poorly in the world cup.
