Its a shocking result but we have seen some surprises in football were big teams lost to much weaker opponents seems that italian footbal is having a rough time lately despite the euro win who should give them a positive boost they showed poor performance since then.

When it comes to Italy we can't really say shocking result as they missed plenty of other big tournaments lately.
They can't participate World Cup two times in a row. Funny thing is they are the last European champion. Actually it should be a wild card for latest winners of continental championship. That way they don't have to play elimination games and that would be a good prize for cup winners.

I don't think the problem is because of the players or the coach they did what they were supposed to do but still lose
Instead I think it's related to luck I believe sometimes luck can change the final result and this is what happened in this match
If the match is replayed not sure North Macedonia will win again.

I've only just seen the statistics and they are brutal. 16 to 0 corners, that's unbelievable. Or 32 to 4 goal attempts, that can't be true..... how can you not score a goal with that? And that Italy is out as European-Champion is just as unbelievable.

I think that after the increase in the number of teams in the final part of the World Cup, this problem will have to lose its relevance. Italy have failed to qualify for world cups twice in a row, 2018 and 2022, and it's the first time in their history. It's quite unfortunate for them after winning Euro 2020. They beat England to win the cup. Italy worst nightmare was when they got Eliminated from the world cup for the second time. Though they put in their best, you needed to see how hungry for a goal they were in the game between North Macedonia. Their defeat was shocking and unbelievable, despite playing and dominated the game. North Macedonia didn't come after possession but rather came after a goal, they played a defensive football and scored at stoppage time. My sympathy for Italy, for I know how badly they needed to qualify. The player that is emotionally down when they lost to North Macedonia was Marco Verratti, in his last 5 games both at club and country.

Italy's defeat should not have happened if they could have built a more creative and effective attack. Like you said North Macedonia can't do anything
but play defensively and that's what they did throughout the game. Unfortunately the attack that was built by Italy was too hasty, the Italian players
shoot too quickly. No wonder Italy shot 32 times and only 5 of them had their shots on target. This makes the Italian attack ineffective, even though

Everytime at least one of the stronger sides fail to qualify for the main tournament and this time it is the turn of Italy. Now let's hope that Portugal manages to qualify to the world cup by defeating North Macedonia. I have a lot of respect for the Macedonians, but this is going to be the last tournament for Ronaldo and I don't want him to miss that opportunity.

Bad moment coming to Italy on group stage qualification because they have easy against country on their group but failed finish with 1st standing position place, after moment winning Europe Cup, Italy have drop perform and ever get draw always on group stage qualification before have to play on play off match against North Macedonia. Now back to back Italy without have participant on FIFA World Cup after last event they failed drop to world cup and not get the same thing again. I see Italy have difficulty on central forward position where not any potential player there except Immobile only.
