Congratulations to Portugal.They really deserved to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.Their loss against Serbia was the only thing that would have stopped them,and they kinda had some luck against Turkey(a Turkish player missed a penalty),but there's no doubt that they were the better team in both games against Northern Macedonia and Turkey.
Also congrats to the Canadians,but I don't think that they are strong enough to achieve anything significant in the World Cup tournament.They will just lose three games in the group phase and leave the tournament.Their win against Jamaica was probably because of the cold weather in Canada(AFAIK,the match was in Toronto).

Everyone knows football tournaments is about luck, that's why you can see a shock surprise more often than when you play in league. Sprints produce more shocks than marathon and look at Italy for the best example of luck,,, did not lose for 49 games and the one they lost was the one they needed to win. And the team that beat them played using their style of ultra defence.

As for North Macedonia, their fairytale run came to an end, but they will take heart from a spirited showing, having denied Italy a place in the World Cup last week. Portugal knew how their opponent would play. Portugal played with a four-man defence, with Pepe's presence, which effectively shielded them against any potential counter-attacks from North Macedonia which also make them failed to secure a single shot on target and had just 35% possession. Portugal were very direct and precise in that game. They had just three shots on target against North Macedonia but made the opportunities count, scoring from two of them.

Senegal has a good team, but Egypt has only Salah. To conclude that Senegal can surprise in the World Cup just because they narrowly defeated Egypt twice is daring. In the World Cup, there are completely different opponents to play against whom Senegal will have little chance. That's why they might get through the group stage and, with a little luck of the draw, reach the eighth or quarterfinals. But that's all they should be able to do.

Sweden have been unlucky and Portugal have rightly presented their fans with the gift that the World Cup awaits them.

In the Portugal vs North Macedonia match, Ronaldo did not score, but one of the 2 goals scored by B. Fernandes, Ronaldo became the passer. Ronaldo has to be closely guarded and that is one of the strategies in my opinion. When Ronaldo gets special attention from Macedonian players, other players from Portugal can attack freely so it's not surprising that Ronaldo doesn't score.

As for Ibrahimovic who you mentioned not being able to save his team, football doesn't rely on individuals in my opinion. An Ibrahimovic or any top player will not be able to work alone, let alone the age of the player is no longer young.
