I hope to see an enjoyable game between Portugal and Turkey today. Portugal are obviously the absolute favourite to win this game tonight. Turkey are not an unreliable team now. They are still trying to improve their performance and get better. Stefan Kuntz is a really good coach but I don't know how much he is confident about this game now. Portugal have really great stars and Ronaldo is the most important one of course. Turkey need to play smart against them to increase their chance of eliminating them. Or it'd be a one-sided game mostly.

I assume that the easiest matchup today is Italy - North Macedonia. It is obviously the end of the road for North Macedonia here. Maybe Italy weren't having their best times in the group stage but they are still way ahead of their opponent. And from now on, every game is critical for them as they can qualify for the World Cup in case they win today and once more in next round. Italy mustn't make simple mistakes. They have solid players and they can make it to the World Cup too no matter their opponent in next round is Portugal or Turkey. Portugal would be a much bigger challenge maybe but I still think Italy are better.

Italy - North Macedonia, Italy is such clear favorite that odds isn't even worth something. My pick here is over 2.5 goals here.
Portugal is also favorite against Turkey, but I think Turkey is understimated too much. I also go with over 2.5 goals.
Sweden - Czech Republic sounds most interesting. Czech Republic have many important players missing game because of injuries, so I see good value in Sweden win.
Wales - Austria doesn't sounds as very exciting game. I don't see any favorite in this game and I don't expect many goals there.

I think that the most interesting game of the day is Portugal - Turkey. In fact, Portugal are very highly favourite team here but I still don't think that it is going to be an easy-peasy game for them. Turkey were doing well in their last games with their new manager. If they keep that level at least and even improve it more, then they could make difficulties for Portugal in this game. It seems like Cristiano Ronaldo is playing in this one definitely so his performance is going to be very crucial for his team's success in this round. I think Portugal will eliminate Turkey but it will be by a small goal gap.

Portugal is the favorite team to qualify for the Qatar world cup this season even though they have to undergo a playoff match first, the opponent that will be faced by Cristiano Ronaldo and his friends is Turkey where Turkey was surprisingly able to get rid of Norway so they are entitled to accompany the Netherlands even though they have to through the play-offs.I don't think Turkey will be able to give a surprise like what happened in the group stage when they did it for Norway. Of course, the quality of Portugal and Norway is very different. I'm sure that Portugal will qualify and face Italy in the future.

My pick here is over 2.5 goals

I'm kind of leaning the other way. It's a single-leg winner-takes-all match, and I expect teams to sit behind the ball and not take many risks, and so even the weaker teams will be tough to break down. I'm leaning towards lower scoring matches. But I take your point on Italy vs N Mac... it's difficult to see Italy being kept to just one or two goals, but still N Mac are likely to put 11 men behind the ball.

For Portugal, they are better but Turkey shouldn't be underestimated. Bookies put turkey odds @9.8, dunno how accurate is that.

I agree with @LTU_btc on his picks about the Italy - North Macedonia and Portugal - Turkey matches. Both of these matches are quite likely to end up with many goals. Italy's match could be a completely one-sided match actually but even they can score three goals by themselves. And for the Portugal - Turkey match, I think that both teams will be scoring. But the winner will be Portugal at the end by 2-1 or 3-1. I didn't place any bet on these scores. They are just predictions.

I had no doubt Portugal and Italy would both win their respective fixtures but it's going to be tough game for the Italians as the Macedonia have been doing fairly quite well, Portugal have already taken the lead against Turkey and they look really comfortable at the moment.

I mean don't get me wrong, I like our players and they are great in many leagues of the world, from france to italy to england, they are all great and all. But we were never really a team, never became one, never had any stable tactics, and the players do not know how to play with each other.
