But in poker, we also need to be responsible gamblers not to lose too much money.

If you mean they are never going to recover it through gambling, I agree, the probability of earning money with gambling is low. But recovering through another activity is very much possible.

And I might also add that together with low chance of gaining profits in gambling, only a select few games that you can do it and most of them is that you need to have a certain level of skill if you want to make a decent profit like poker and blackjack.

Well if you wanna be entertained, you can just go and play solitaire it's still card or just watch sports. But it's still winning money thru your bets that's making the most entertainment for gamblers. Many people who lose money even picks a fight against those who won because they didn't enjoy losing. 

Now that isn't also being responsible gambling. But people can't control themselves just like gambling and pawning their belongings all for their addiction. They need pro help or just lay away.

In fact, those who bet on sports and then just sit back and watch the game in fact the disappointment will still be there at the end if they lose. Nothing can be truly entertained in gambling except for two things, gambling just to spend money and winning at gambling, at least those are two factors they will get entertainment and fun in gambling. I already know that not everyone plays gambling for entertainment, there are some people who make gambling as a source of income.
People who make gambling as a source of income usually end up badly and will get into a lot of financial problems. It doesn't really matter

The passion comes before the earnings. If a gamble learn his tactics perfectly his passion would pay him. Been responsible entails a whole lot. I have a friend who spends time studying about different sporting activities and how to predict accurately in each of those sports I can say today he earns well from it and this has become his major source of income. Passion would help instill some level of dicipline that would help a gambler manage his addiction and unnecessary betting quest.

If you are a person who live your life with what you earn and all of the sudden if there is no way to earn/there is no way to earn money due to lockdown don't go into gambling. This will completely destroy your life and creates issue in relationship. I assure this will happen, even if you don't have money for food request help with someone. You'll get your food, have it with peace than ending in frustration.

I agree with you, if we lose our job we shouldn't look at gambling as our new source of income. There is a lot of risk involved in gambling, its very similar to trading. Even with the best strategy we don't have a guarantee of winning. So rely on gambling is just wrong. We should only use money that we can afford to lose.

This is one big problem, gambling should be used as a source of entertainment and excitement and yet people somehow want to use it as a source of income and this is not possible, can some gamblers do exactly that? These might be just as simple as it seems but the consequences of losses I guess is too much to handle if a gambler don't know how to be responsible in his actions or decisions. Some of us could make or generate a good profit out of gambling but not all the time. I don't think blackjack and poker can be comparable in this manner. If we are talking about real poker where you are playing against other players, it's not blackjack where you are playing against the house. The odds of winning blackjack are 42.22%, meaning you can win a lot, if you are lucky, but most likely you will lose in the long run. With poker it's different: no one can say beforehand(before the game is started) what are the odds of winning, but we know from numerous examples that some people do win more frequently than others.

With that being said, I wouldn't recommend perceiving poker as a money making activity. With a wrong approach,  you can still get addicted and lose a lot of money with it. Be a responsible gambler.
