I think it's possible to rule yourself determining LIMITS to what maximum point you can reach. A well planned gambling schedule, even appointing max and min losses can stop you on time to be a degenarated addicted or a total flat broke-bankrupt!

Close or not, addicted or not, it isn't the matter IMO. Indeed that addicted gamblers would tend to play without even use their brain for various reasons such as greediness, chasing it losses or etc. However, the mindset of how to treat gambling is the most important point here, whether do you gamble just for entertainment purposes or as a source of income. If you treat gambling as a source of income then you have wrong from the beginning, it's better to quit gambling and focus on your job in real life.

Whether one is close to gambling or not,if you are an addict,there is nothing you can ever do to stop it.The only way an addict can stop gambling is self realization.If an individual realises that gambling has done more harm than good to him,he will change from it.but if he hasn't come to the point of self realization,then he will continue wallowing in the gambling habbit.Keeping your mind and yourself busy is another thing an individual must do to overcome the spirit of gambling.

It is okay to consider betting as much as you can. But to consider someone is truly responsible is that he sets an amount that he afford to lose and will be careful with his bets that he won't be affectionate with whatever the outcome of that bet. Gambling is already known to be risky so someone who's getting in is aware of that and would probably made his decision that he's willing to take the risk.

Being a responsible gambler means a lot, as you have mentioned, setting a certain amount of money that can afford to lose is one of it, one thing I'll add more is how you control yourself, on how you'll react in every winnings and losing, because that's important to prolong your funds.

You need to be constantly have the same decision on both (winning on losing) for example is betting the exact amount of money whether you win or lose.

I think this is a dangerous approach because some people have a lot of free time, especially these days during lockdowns and stuff. But even without lockdowns everyone gets days off, and it doesn't mean spending 10+ hours on gambling during those days is OK. Same goes for money: if you received a huge bonus, don't think you can spend more on gambling now than before. Spend only what you can afford to lose on normal days on average.

I firmly believe that if you are gambling then you aren't able to manage your finances because gambling is a waste of money and people who gamble knows that subconsciously but they are there for the entertainment and the wins are just a part of the game. The problem is that sometimes the obssession can be really strong that it's difficult to control it especially if you are being afflicted by the behavior of gambler's fallacy where you think that consecutive losses is going to give you a big win anytime soon.

Saying it is easy, we must be disciplined to control our emotions so as not to gamble excessively. The fact is that I always lose control several times

That's true it is really hard to earn money from gambling, a lot of people says that it has a 50% win rate percentage but for me you can only have 10% win rate, I never earn money from gambling so I have already done with it, gambling is only an entertainment purpose so the best thing for you to do is to focus on doing other things to make you money and stop relying your earnings in gambling because you will end up empty on it.

the trigger point for addiction starts in not accepting to lose money constantly, the person starts thinking that in the next game they will be able to recover and then lose in the next game and keep playing and then lose in the next game and time goes by and when they look back everything you have is addicted. but she doesn't realize she's addicted. and another big problem arises: how to make an addicted person recover and stop being addicted? this is the most complicated part, anyone who has lived with an addicted knows how painful this whole process is

At first they had won big in gambling until they finally got addicted, not because they lost continuously until they became addicts. Well, both have risk to be honest, the only difference is that the risk in starting a business is much lower than gambling, however, if you don't have any idea how to run a business like how to make profits in gambling, then surely in the end you'll lose all the money you got from loan.

chosen field of investment or business the chance of being successful is far better comparing to any types of gambling.

Your knowledge is the key factors of your success, it can apply also with gambling but the chance of getting wreck out and completely losing your fund is far higher than starting a business if you have good understanding within the line.
