I'm sorry death69 but I have to disagree with you, trading isn't a "better place" as you said or a safer place than online casinos. You can lose huge amounts of money when you invest into cyptocurrencies because they are highly volatile and unpredictable. Even for Bitcoin, nobody can guarantee it won't crash in the coming months or even weeks, moreover if you trade with leverage your losses can be as quick as the ones you can get on gambling games.

It's hard to get out in a situation like what you've had where you have to borrow from friends and get loans just so you can sustain your gambling, it's the worst experience, now you have to work all your life just to repay your debt, you are lucky that you have admitted that you are wrong on doing this some people will still find a way and take on criminal activities just to repay their loans and to sustain their gambling, I hope you can still manage to pay your loan and will not go back to being a compulsive gambler.

But for us, who just gambles whenever we want and whatever we feel, we're likely to say that it's not for profit. But the difference on trading is that profits doesnt materialized that too fast same on gambling where people would find it boring and majority of us is too impatient.
Hence, we treat on differently in between gambling activity and trading which it isnt just right to make out some comparison or similarities between them.

This is a touching story the indebtedness of the OP is very overwhelming l salute his courage for telling us such a story I hope he pays back the debts sooner, this is a advice to gamblers not fall into debt in a bid to win big, in fact I read some stories of some gambling addicts that became  bankrupt after losing all their money sold all their properties and still loss and become depressed.
Personally I had learnt one or two lessons from the comments most importantly I will only  gamble with the amount of money I can afford to lose.

And I believe, he is not the only one in this kind of situation. Some here maybe experiencing the same but ashamed to share the situation. Now, they know they are not alone and can read encouraging words from strangers. Sometimes, all they need is understanding to keep them going. It is not the end of the world. They still have the chance to change and rectify their problem. If you are dead, of course, you can't do anything but think of your loved ones before you decide something extreme.

It's a human nature that we don't easily give up, you showed how its done based on your experience but it's just that you learned your lesson the hard way.  A debt has to be paid no matter what, if you don't have enough income you'll surely struggle financially as you also have personal needs, bigger if you have a family.

There's no need to literally put up a bad meaning on what the user said. Let's use our common sense here.

It's definitely a no-brainer that someone won't think that trading isn't risky. The user just wants to give advice to OP that it's good to focus on trading instead of gambling because of what happened. Then while on trading, of course, we need to manage it well along the way and do everything to keep up with the volatility.

Dont borrow, crypto is already a special kind of currency that is some variability of a gamble in itself.  Allocate the money you have spare, put that in crypto and spend it and it might even improve your money allocation habits and gambling spending.  Borrowing to take a risk is not the ideal, borrow to reduce an ongoing cost is usually the most justified like renting vs owning a house is the most common borrowing that works out.   Best deal for gambling is roll profits forward and use that as capital to decide how much to spend, if you do well you will have more so its naturally more balanced.

I was insisted by different people several times. Gambling isn't meant to make money. It is pure business, have fun and never be a victim of it. Now I'm a victim of it. In my village when people play cards I used to advice them, none know I'm into gambling. What they play for is not more than $5, and now I find guilty of being worse than them.

You're not the only one that advises people not to see gambling as a means of making money that's also the victim of the same thing but what's important is how you deal with it after losing because this has made some people a gambling addict.

I have debt of $35000. Myself saved $2500 in BTC on an exchange with the plan of trading. My mind wavered it takes time to make money out of trading. Myself deposited into a gambling platform. Started to gamble. Within few minutes it all got emptied. Then on my mind didn't work, everytime it thinks of the lost money and the way to recover it. Borrowed another $2000 from my friend and this too got washed out.

You borrowing money so you can gamble shows you can't control your buzz and you don't have experience about how to gamble profitably because one of the tips of making a profitable gamble to bet with the money you can afford to lose not a loan.

Important Note : If you're jobless don't get into gambling, I'm an example. I don't have a job, and that's the reason I wasn't able to keep me deviated from gambling. Hope this helps someone.

Gambling isn't meant to make money. It is pure business, have fun and never be a victim of it.

Not all gamblers have the same views about gambling, some of them even gamble purely for money. But at least, you know the consequence to gamble for money, you have proven it so risky. Well, I never blame people who try to make money by gambling, as long as they do it realistically and with extra money only. I know not all gamblers can have fun with gambling games, they prefer to choose other activities if the purpose is for having fun. The point is "don't lose control once you are gambling, keep the realistic mind". If you cannot do it, you are better to not gamble.

I'm really sorry for your situation. But don't give up your life! Just because you can't make profit from betting it doesn't mean you can't earn through another ways. It's not the end of the line! Ironically you can actually make money from *gambling*. You are at Stake's campaign, so you are somehow making money from a gambling site. Try to save this income maximum as possible (and in bitcoins). It's already a beginning.

I'm amazed at your determination not to give up in life. There is still hope, unlike me who is physically disabled, you have a normal body so you can still have a job again and start a new beginning. Just learn from this lesson and guide someone that you think that is going to what you have experienced.

Chasing losses is really not good, you get more greedy to recover it everytime you lose more. This is a reminder for everyone to not let their emotion get over them when they gamble. If they lose, just quit the casino or get away whatever that gambling platform it is.

For now he should quit gambling. From my personal experience he has lost a big sum, and when we loss big our mind thinks of making quick money to recover and make profit. Now he is in such a situation, and he needs to look for an alternate if he has the ability to risk big. Maybe investing/trading can be the best choice.

I wouldn't advice that one since it means that OP has to gamble again and knowing how addiction works, I am sure that relapse is going to happen and that is the worst thing that can happen after rehabilitation, they go back to gambling and get addicted again. Investing is a long term but trading is a risky one.

I am not finding this as a valid reason. You will able to deviate your focus if you are good in self-control. I have seen many addicted gamblers who are into regular job for years. No offense but this whole story that happened to you was supposed to help yourself out the first time people told you that gambling is not a good way to earn money, take note, you didn't even have a job to back up the money you're gonna borrow to someone else so I'm confused on what forced you to do gambling still even if it is crystal clear to you that you're not gonna make it.

What I meant is it is too risky to be a way to earn a living, for a person like you. You could be better if you would have started a business even a small one, small profits but at least, it is a sure return. Not like in gambling that it is a high risk, high return but it just doesn't suit you, and you know that.

To make this story short, you didn't want the long way to pay your debt, you wanted to pay it in a very short amount of time and you thought gambling was the answer, but sadly it was not, it was your nightmare. No successful man didn't climb the ladder step by step to reach what he has now, they had to do it step by step to polish everything they have as a foundation in the long term, and that's the proper way how you do it. No shortcuts, no excuses.
