What is happening to AJ? Has he lost his drive, his motivation, his hunger? I mean, because I do not understand what's been going on with this champ. Has he made so much money that his heart in no longer in the sport? Totally appalled and embarrassed with his performance in the ring. The AJ I watched today stands no fighting chance against Fury and Wilder.
Yeah I agree there's so much hesitation on his part he is very tentative he just waited and waited for Usyk to come in and he is in a defensive mode, I thought he'll going to do another performance as he did with Ruiz, but it seems its a continuation on where both fighters left off, now the boxing community will take Usyk seriously and might pit him against Fury or Wilder. Usyk could be the greatest heavyweight boxer of this generation after all, and I wonder what's next for Joshua. Well looking at the scores, if Joshua will just have enough push in rounds 10-12, he could have been the winner. He just had a good round 9, but in round 10 and onwards, his legs is gone, seems to gassing out as there is no power from his punch. Let's hear from Fury, maybe he will get out of retirement? Or maybe not since Joshua lost and there is no need for an all out war between 2 Brits in the Heavyweight. Congrats to Usyk I think he can clean up the division not name Fury. I think he can beat any version of Wilder with this technical boxing.

It's because he will be vulnerable to Usyk's counter that's why he didn't engaged him early and chooses to be in the defensive mode which we obviously see as not that effective because he can't win rounds by that performance. Usyk could be the greatest heavyweight boxer of this generation after all, and I wonder what's next for Joshua.
Still up for debate, if he beats Wilder and then win against Fury, then yeah, probably he will be considered the greatest of this generation. But so far the title is being held by the retired Tyson Fury.

Rounds 10 to 12 are considered championship rounds if you don't have it on these last two rounds and the fight is close you are in trouble Joshua let his dream slip on these rounds the fight is too close it could go either way between these championship rounds but Usyk is the one that deliver the needed points. Fury considered himself the greatest boxer of this generation now Usyk is up to the challenge and because of this win his claim is now challenged I'm sure we will hear a lot from Fury and maybe get out of retirement and challenge him, and I'm sure too Wilder will also target him, the heavyweight division is a very excited division now.

^^ Yes, I think Fury might get out of his retirement and fight Usyk, for sure this will also be bigger in any parts of the world, US/UK/Middle East.
But yeah, we should hear from Fury first, he has still up to August 26 to make it official, whether he will retire for good or not, or go for another lucrative fight against Usyk for all the marbles and money.

Also, agreed that Usyk can beat any version of Wilder, however, any version of Wilder can knockout Usyk. Usyk is also small for a heavyweight. His real weight division is in cruiserweight or light heavyweight.

Have you all seen Joshua's behavior after the fight he is a very upset man he even throws the two belts the WBA and ring magazine title outside of the ring and even confronted Usyk and tells him how do you beat me, its a big disappointment for those who adorn and look up to him instead of congratulating Usyk he despises him, Usyk for his part is very calm, Usyk deserves the match and Joshua has no right to disrespect Usyk, he should be sanction for his action. the fight is all slomo. he is losing his sting, it doesn't look like he trained for this fight. no game plan no combo that i think remarkable enough to make him win. it was a close fight though i just can't believe he couldn't avoid a coming punch.

Usyk really won a well-deserved victory, even by decision, if a fight with Fury takes place, it would be interesting to see what happens there, the Gypsy King in his style has already commented on the rematch of Usyk vs Joshua and called it one of the worst title fights in his opinion. https://twitter.com/Tyson_Fury/status/1561138327964860420

I like his durability, I think he is ready for the gypsy king, but if that match would happen, I would still root for the Gypsy King to win. Anyway, congratulations to Usyk, I thought the trilogy is coming.

It's a meltdown I have never seen a boxer losing and stealing the spotlight from the champion it should be the champion's moment but he tried to reason out to the crowd and try to regain their respect, but he should understand that a loss is a loss and he should be gracious in defeat, he should do a soul searching and think of a new direction for his career, I believe he can still fight he is in the same position like Wilder so why not promoters match these two whoever loses should retire, that would be exciting for the boxing community.

I think it is high time Joshua retire, dude has paid his due, the tide is no longer in his favor. He should retire, before destroying and shattering all his good records. He actually fought a good fight, those body shots were on point and he landed more combination punches than the first fight. He hurt Usyk bad in the 9th round but Usyk is just special and stepped it up round 10-12 to win. Aside Fury I don’t think any of the current heavyweight top guys can beat Usyk and even with Fury he has a chance but Fury is just so big and long.

Anthony Joshua confronts Oleksandr Usyk after defeat & throws belts out of the ringSuch behavior of Joshua I dont understand. Why he left the ring and then returned? Because he thought he was robbed? He looked better, a lot better than he was in first fight. But he should be ready, to beat champion, doing 100% is not enough. He had to do 200% of himself. In close fights, champion always gets the win, even draw is impossible. Besides, due to Ukraine-Russian war, judges already were on Usyk side. People might disagree with that, but there is always politics involved. As a proof, check Eurovision song contest 2022, guess who is the winner of it. So Joshua has already started this fight with "two points disadvantage". He should have shown 250% or 300% of himself to win (or as Russians say - "jump out of pants", meaning do impossible).

What you're asking is like asking why Brighton lost 4-0 to Man City last weekend. He doesn't seem to have lost his drive at all and I think he wanted this win more than anything but he just couldn't beat a better man. He did much better this time around than last though I thought. I give him winning 3 rounds at least, and I think he did have Usyk stung in the 9th or 10th round or so, he just didn't have the gas tank to capitalise on it. Usyk could be the greatest heavyweight boxer of this generation after all, and I wonder what's next for Joshua.
Nah. I really doubt it. I don't think he would trouble Fury too much, and I think Wilder would beat him as well. Hopefully we get to see him fight both though. Usyk and Fury really need to fight now. It's the logical match up. Fury might struggle to KO him but he'd win it on points I'm sure. Then again, If Fury can flatten Wilder I think he can do the same to Usyk. I think it is high time Joshua retire, dude has paid his due, the tide is no longer in his favor. He should retire, before destroying and shattering all his good records. He actually fought a good fight, those body shots were on point and he landed more combination punches than the first fight. Why do you think he should retire if he had a good fight? Most boxers don't retire after a couple of defeats. I still think AJ beats most other boxers, but Usyk, Fury and Wilder etc are all too good for him. I still would like to see him fight the latter two though. Without the belts the Fury fight would probably be at the tail end of their careers but I could see him against Wilder now that he's back.

At 32 and still strong and with high motivation I don't think Joshua will do that, he can take a vacation and take out all the pressure, the last part of the boxer that will give is the mind, he is not giving up on himself his body can still take it, maybe another tune fight will get his motivation back he still has that power but lacks the ring generalship at 32 it is not yet late to reinvest himself, he can come back anytime, Foreman did it after many years off in boxing.

Usyk fought like a wounded lion. He fought with a heavy heart.
From the first fight match, Usyk was just too aggressive, relentless and hungry for a victory. Joshua was really out of place, scared & lacked that killer instinct that most heavyweight champions have! I knew Usyk was once again going to outclass him. Usyk reminds me of Vladimir, tough, rugged and fast! I supported Joshua but the best fighter won though
He said post fight interview that he did want to change his style in this fight and you can see that sometimes it his effective, enough for 1 judges to sway the fight on his favor. But the 2 thinks otherwise, and that is what we saw, Usyk out landing Joshua in the most crucial rounds of 10-12. I just pity Joshua because he broke down and cry at the post fight. He really put himself in training and look forward to this fight in the last 11 months and yet he still fell short of it. I guess he can still continue to fight, maybe try to regain the hunger and motivation.

He is a good fighter, but this sometimes happens when you meet a stronger opponent on your way. He had a chance to win, but he could not use it, and in the championship rounds he was exhausted and it was clear that he had no chances to win, Usyk survived and turned the tide of the fight in his favor. Joshua is a good fighter and will win in the ring, but Fury won't fight him, that's obvious.

Has he made so much money that his heart in no longer in the sport? Totally appalled and embarrassed with his performance in the ring. The AJ I watched today stands no fighting chance against Fury and Wilder. On a technical level he is simply not good enough to take on the abilities of fighter such as Usyk. It really is that simple. He probably knows that his career as a boxer is basically over, Usyk will never accept to fight him again as he beat him twice already, Joshua has no chance against Fury, assuming he came back, and I do not think he could beat Wilder either, so he knows he is out of any chance of winning another title no matter how hard he tries as his opponents are better than him, so he is frustrated with Usyk as he has basically single-handedly forced him to retire. In boxing you can never say never, there is a chance Joshua might one day find himself fighting for the belts again but right now it is all about Usyk, it is his moment to shine. Foreman was a brilliant boxer, after all those years of retirement he returned to the ring because he knew he could do it. I would not place Joshua and Foreman in the same bracket because Joshua simply is not good enough.

AJ should just take some time off and fight whoever he can to try get his mojo back. He might end up being the mandatory again at some point so it's not over for him yet and the belts won't stay with either Usyk or Fury forever either. Fury will probably have one or two more championship fights in him before he actually retires. Retiring after Usyk wouldn't be a bad way to go especially if he unifies all the belts, and like I said yesterday it looks like Fury's current 'retirement' was just a money grab as he's now asking for the big bucks for the Usyk fight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4mD_W8qoYAThat fight really needs to happen. Usyk wants it, it's going to be both of their biggest paydays, and I don't think Usyk will trouble Fury too much so there's no reason why this fight shouldn't happen.
