Now Qatar is going to be first Muslim country who is going to host his mega event and surely this is going to be game changer for this region which is having some terrible issues and conflicts for decades with this all I am still feeling Qatar is not having any good chance for qualifying into next round because their group is tough, and they are currently the most weak side in this event.

Qatar seems to have almost unlimited amounts of money, especially after the LNG prices jumped by 10x during the last two years. But even then, they gave only $2,000 to $5,000 per head to thousands of laborers who lost their lives during the construction of world cup stadiums. They can spend hundreds of billions of USD in adding more glitter to the world cup. Providing $10,000 each to the families of dead laborers will cost them just $60 million (less than a thousandth of what they are spending for the world cup).

As for holding the World Cup in Qatar at such an unusual time, and in a country without a great football tradition, I think that it's a question of FIFA being an organization whose first priority is profit and the spread of influence, not just competition.
Even the decision for Qatar to host the World Cup was suspected due to possible corruption, but this was never proven, although suspicions remained.
I agree with you, the African national teams are very talented and have great players like Salah or Mane, but they clearly lack the discipline in the game and the tactical maturity to be able to achieve better results and play in the semi-finals or finals.

I have always really liked the way of playing in Ghana, as I have said in other posts, it pains me a lot that the Nigerian eagles are not present in QATAR since I think they have a very showy football and that it is very enjoyable to see those players play, however I would like a team from the African Continent to go far in this World Cup, because it would be something different, something that very few expect, I imagine that the bets would be of another level, we have to wait to see how things will develop in the World Cup, but I believe that anything can happen and a surprise from an African team would be very nice

Qatar qualified to the tournament just because they are hosting it. For the World Cup title, I wonder how much Brazil and Argentina are going to determined. I have a big expectation from Brazil especially. They have started to impress me quite a lot. They have one of the best squads in this tournament. The thing they need the most is having a solid game plan for the biggest tournament in the world. It would be nice to see them in the final playing against a European team for the title.

In fact, I'm also rooting for a final between Brazil and a European team... there are several interesting candidates, but I'd like to see him face France, Portugal or England.

Not sure whether Qatar is really as good as the rankings suggest. Historically, Asian teams such as Saudi Arabia and Iran have performed poorly in the world cup. And Qatar is not even considered as one of the top tier Asian teams. On the other hand, Ecuador and Paraguay plays a large majority of their matches against strong CONMEBOL teams and that may negatively impact their rankings. But as far as I am considered, Qatar doesn't stand a chance against Ecuador, when these two teams face each other.

I have some doubts about Portugal to be honest. Because they had difficulties in qualifying for the World Cup directly and they made it by the playoffs. Of course there is a lot of time for getting prepared for the main tournament now but we will see about that. England and France are both solid teams undoubtedly. If I would ever get a chance to ask from world famous Messi or Ronaldo than the only question would be -- do you know all the Soccer fans want you to play like super heros in every match. Do you have that on your mind while playing and how do you cope up when you are unable to perform well in an match. After all they are human too.

We are talking about two of the most experienced footballers and I don't think that they can be put under pressure. They have been playing at the highest level for almost two decades and by now they can handle pressure better than anyone else. But the expectation from fans will be there as a burden. These players do have superhuman status in front of the eyes of football fans and sometimes people forget that they are human and are prone to making mistakes. But this tournament is very important for them, because it is going to be the last world cup for both these players.

There has always been home or advantage on every country hosting a cup finals just because they want them to go far abit in the tournament but they may not actually win the final stage because by them things could have been gone tougher than expected, i so much believe that that's just the only way to encourage and compensate the hosts as it may not sound well getting knocked out at the early stage, it's a on rare case seing the host country getting to final or winning the cup.
