It's actually sentimental from people pointing at Maguire for being called up. Southgate was right to hand him the call up. Maguire has been great in last 2 tournaments he has Participated for England, so why will the coach change him because he has issues at his club. As Kalvin Philips I think Southgate doesn't trust any other DM again and he can't go with only Rice. Philips has not been in Man City squad just because of injury and I think England medical team assess him to be fit for the world Cup, so he isn't a bad selection either I just hope it doesn't backfires.

No surprise about the selection of the French team from the French coach, It would have not been a complete list without Saliba. Also Mbappe and Giroud connect well, better than Mbappe and Benzema, but I am sure the coach will find a way for them all to fit in and provide playing time for all of them.

Did you make this assumptions because of the last World Cup. If not Benzema and Mbappe have linked up very well in there time together I will tell you to watch there Nation league matches and see for yourself. I think Deschamp will use the trio of Grizeman, Benzema and Mbappe.

I have to say by just going through the individual names i don't really see that the english national teams belongs to the top 4 or 5 strongest team of this upcoming world cup. I mean come on it is still a miracle to me how Harry Maguire is even a professional football player because his skills are so limited. I know he has a great mentality but that is just not enough.
The french national team seems very strong. The offense with Mbappe, Benzema, Coman, Nkunku, Griezmann and Dembele is probably the strongest of all teams. Germany has an extremely strong midfield section with Kimmich, Goreztka, Gündogan, Sane and Musiala but they don't really have an experienced striker. We will see.

Last few minutes ago England national team have announce about player list for World Cup, most excited with Maguire still be part for England national team despite he doesn't get regular position with Manchester United. Kyle Walker have issues injury have in the player named list and seems he will get injury when World Cup begin.

It’s quite unfortunate how the selection has been done. It’s understood that everybody cannot make the World Cup squad. Also I think the draft to the team is not really 100% based on performance and tactics but preference irrespective of whether the payer is playing or not. Because come to think of it, how Maguire ends up in that squad ahead of Tomori is absolutely mental. So there are more sides to this drafting.

I somehow understand why Kalvin Phillips was included in the England World Cup squad despite his lack of football this season. I think there is little depth in his position where he plays. He hasn’t been playing regularly because of a lengthy spell on the sidelines following a shoulder surgery. But he’s now available and free of injury and if you look at that position, you’d see that they only have Declan Rice as a defensive midfielder, so they don't have a lot of cover for that role that’s why he was added.

England have a strong squad for the World Cup. They are not a favourite. Strange really as England is the strongest league in the world with all the successes of the last 10/20 years. Soon we will have all selections available. Belgium also seems to be building a strong team and has arguably the best midfielder of the tournament with De Bruyne. I would like to see a Modric - De Bruyne duel in midfield. Depay on behalf of the Netherlands has still not recovered well, I wonder if he can play at the World Cup. They've done alot just to keep that robust early lineup stat and that looks counts in affirmation for a big amidst the game.

Only lazy did not notice and was not surprised that Harry Maguire was in the national team. If Ten Hag can't always find a place for Maguire in the main squad, then maybe the player just doesn't fit into the model of the game that the team coach preaches. Obviously Southgate knows perfectly well how to use a football player, his strengths and obviously it's not just his mentality. Still, I do not believe that Southgate is the enemy of himself and the good results of the team and does not want to take a more useful player for the team game. The French national team has a great attack in the person of Mbappe, Griezmann, plus evil tongues claim that Benzema is specially taking care of himself for the sake of the World Cup matches and has already missed 5 matches for Real Madrid. Some key players dropped out of the squad that would represent England in the world cup and Gareth Southgate quite impressed with his selection. There are many players I wish could be fit before the world cup but I guess wrong, Reece James and ben Chilwell due to injuries. But Tomori and Lingard not getting a call up by Southgate is really frustrating for the players who are trying their best to fit in. In my opinion, James Maddison deserves a spot in the final XI. A lot of opportunities have been given to players such as Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka, and they haven't made proper use of these opportunities. Maddison was ignored after he got a single chance in 2019. But then he performed in such a manner for Leicester City, that it became impossible to ignore him. IMO, the combination of Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and James Maddison would be a formidable one, provided Southgate is favorable to including him in the XI.

the world cup is only held every 4 years so i think people are obviously waiting for this to bet and i am also including going to make a bet on this event, even though my country didn't qualify for the world cup, but i support several countries to bet on later, we know not only online gambling and even land-based gambling will be crowded when this event starts, usually people bet for it

Am not happy how top players are missing the world cup because of injuries. The world cup is what comes every 4years. Missing it because of injury is very heartbreaking at this time.

I don't know how Senegalese will feel about this news. Just a few weeks before the world cup, Sadio Mane their key man is injured. This kind of news will destabilize their morale in the world cup.

There is no doubt about Portugal and their quality even right now most of the pundits are not interested in their performance in this world cup but with the combination and players they can do good performance even for them DARK HORSE tag surely going to fit on them because they have all required skills and qualities in their squad which can upset any big team and can create chance for themselves in last rounds.

I would not consider Portugal as one of the top-5 teams who are favorites to win the world cup this time. Cristiano Ronaldo maybe the best individual footballer at this moment, but the team balance is not there for Portugal. They have some young promising players such as João Félix, Rafael Leão and Gonçalo Ramos. They have scored a lot of goals in La Liga and Serie A, but at international level they are quite inexperienced. I am not sure how much support CR7 will receive from these younger players. If he doesn't receive much, then he will be under enormous pressure.
