Germany once again finished the World Cup with disappointment. They were shown among the championship candidates, but it turned out that they were not that good. Despite losing, Spain went ahead and maybe it was much better for them to finish 2nd in the group. In the round of 16, they were paired with Morocco instead of Croatia. Japan has done a great job, will they be able to beat Croatia and reach the quarterfinals? Asian teams are getting good results in this tournament.
Spain was playing well in the first half and they scored again with Morata and took the lead, but at the beginning of the second half Japan was much better. Even though Spain was under the control of the match, they couldn't score any more goals. This raises questions, is Spain's offensive power good enough? They will make it to the quarter-finals without difficulty, but what will happen next? After all, this is a short tournament and now that the group matches are over, the teams can't afford to make mistakes. I still consider Spain to be one of the major favourites.
Germany's elimination after Belgium was maybe a relief for other teams. But there are still very strong countries in the tournament.

I could not believe this reality, Japan won Spain, Germany won Costa Rica. Everyone expected Spain to lead, but Japan become victorious in their group with 6 points, followed by Spain with 4 points. It’s never been more exciting than tonight with the two matches that made Germany officially out of World Cup, i remember last world cup 2018 in Russia also they got out after losing against South Korea Lol i think they have a problem with Asians.
The match between Japan against Spain we saw really how weak Spain defense was and not being able to maintain the score of first half and we saw the strength of Japan and their desire and need of winning the match showed us their potentials and could manage to defeat Spain as the first asian team to win against Spain in World Cup.
While the other match between Germany vs Costa Rica i didn’t really watch it but for some moments we thought Spain also will leave the Mondial if Costa Rica kept that score of 2-1, but unfortunately for them they couldn’t and Germany won 4-2 but for nothing since Japan also won.
We saw many surprises on this World Cup in the very begging as i always said many low expected teams will play with all their power to prove and show the world their potentials and make their country proud

I love how Japan play, they are fearless and they may go far in this tournament. Before the world cup started many people were unhappy because of the host country, but i appreciate how Qatar have hosted the world cup so far, they have done very well and i thank them for not bending their laws and cultures because some European countries wanted them to do so.

everyone didn't expect Japan to be able to beat Spain and Germany, even though Japan lost to Costa Rica 1-0,, and it was really a very tight score between Spain and Germany, if only Germany scored more goals then Spain would be eliminated. the final result of the group E stage is really confusing lol.

This is really beyond the logic of Japan being able to beat Spain even though judging from the game statistics Spain controlled the game 83% but couldn't win this match for 90 minutes more only scored 1 goal

This world cup is really a surprise, especially as a team as great as Germany has to go home faster than Qatar, but congratulations to Japan and Spain

Agreed, Japan just played on the go. This could've never been expected by the Spanish players. Similar is the scenario with Germany. In that match Japan had the ball possession of 26% and they managed to win the match. In the match against Costa Rica it had 43% ball possession and the technique didn't work, losing 1-0.

I am glad that Germany are out. Maybe next time they should focus more on actually playing football than bring in stupid politics into the beautiful game. I also liked how resilient Japan have been. The campaign gearing up to the beginning of the world cup in Qatar may have not lived up to the hype, but we are seeing a lot of underdogs taking out the so-called superior teams

Morocco had a 2-goal lead in 23 minutes after Youssef En Nesyri managed to double Morocco's lead. With the advantage they currently have, they should be able to maintain it until the final minutes of the match to ensure they compete in the last 16 representatives from group F. If the score doesn't change and Morocco wins, we will see 1 more country that is also carrying out their match of life and death, especially for Belgium who has a difficult job because they have to win. Unlike Croatia because they only need a draw in this match to win 1 ticket to go to the next phase.

The way Japan played the big matches was truly remarkable. Japan was single handedly responsible for Germany's exit from the group stage. Japan's attacks are very fast which allows them to score goals. Such quality is rarely seen among other Asian teams. Japan went into the Super 16 as a qualified team, now I wouldn't be surprised if they play the quarter finals as well. Because they defeated the two top favorite teams of this world cup and reached the Super 16.

Big win does not always mean a win with many goals, even 1-0 can be called as a big win because the win give a team a ticket to the next round of a competition. In this case, Argentina won with 2-0 and it is understandable if ShowOff call it as a big win because the win make them qualify for the next round and they deserve the 1st place in the group stage.

If it is the reason, I think it more deserves to call an 'important win' or 'crucial win'.

Japan performance is outstanding, they surprise people by defeating 2 favorite teams in the group stage. The world cup has been filled with so many unexpected turn out of events and most football fans' prediction is turning out to be false most especially those who bet heavily in favor of the their preferred team, with the outcome of most of the matches turning out to be unfavorable for most of the big countries that were widely celebrated for their previous world cup performance Spain in one hand and Argentina, on the other hand, give me a high level of worries in this season.
To this point, I can freely predict what their points will be in the coming weeks ahead as the world cup approaches its climax with most smaller teams pushing their way up on the table.

It's true, what Japan is showing in the World Cup surely is going to boost the Asian countries that they're also able to compete at least mainly for Japan. Previously Japan beat Germany in the same way, and today they beat Spain in the same way. Japan is indeed very good at defending, they play tirelessly so they are really able to keep their defense line tight very well. No matter what the statistics were, they just needed to score goals and survive until the end.

But if Japan applies the same strategy against Croatia, then maybe they will lose. Now Japan is in the round of 16 and they are very excited to do it once again. If they win in the same way, then I really don't see the beauty of football in every Japanese game.

Many of teams that we think that will not do well from some of us prediction is now making absolutely well, since the match started I have seen so many countries that is performing well, so if i should predict concerning this world cup the country that might likely be the winner i will predict that Portugal might succeed in wining the match because of the kind of players they have that's involve playing, their players that plays in club most of them returned home because of the world cup

That's the same complexities that I had ..... I really felt numb and couldn't believe the whole damn thing... Espanyol lost before my eyes, to an international team like Japan. This is the same way Japan qualified as the first asian country to win against Columbia; it was a 2:1 win just like this one, in the round of 16.
Spain has got a good lineup team that's formable - atleast to my overview - that could have atleast, battled for a draw just to maintain the sporting preference that some fans would have over Japan....they had complete dominance in the game but it turned out, something so fucked up like that. They'll just have to join 'em in the round of 16'ss.

Shocking news in tonight game as Germany failed to qualify from the group stage for the second time in a row. It's very dissapointing to see Julian Nagelsmann incap able of taking his country to the next stage of the world cup. However, Spain and Japan made it out with a narrow escape, Spain failed to draw Japan, if that happens, Germany would have move on to the next stage. Although, congratulations to the two teams that made it out, it's not an easy task as there's more surprises on the way.
