Morocco have been really solid throughout the full 90mins. I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game for Spain to ride through. Defensively, they have maintained absolute control and compactness and with Spain’s style of play that isn’t penetrative, I expect Morocco to hold on more. Now we go into the Extra time and if Morocco can hold on for this 30mins, they might luckily go win on penalties.

Morroco is doing all the can to take the game to penalty shoot out. Notice that Morroco has more shots on target. The first 15 mins of the extra time just ended and it is still a goalless draw. I wished what Morroco gets a last minute goal in the second half of the extra time just like Cameroon got against Brazil in the group stage.

Though I didn't watch the match but from the comments, it is crystal clear that Morocco played really well today, it's been a goalless draw like I predicted in my previous comment here.
Even if Morocco didn't get a chance to score a last minute goal, I am hoping and praying for them to win the match even through the penalty shoot out, their performance against against Spain is really outstanding and showed they prepared very well for the game, I am still surprised that Spain didn't score all through the match even with the second extra time, it's Indeed a great performance from Morocco, I congratulate them.

Morocco is extraordinary today and is fighting,  Spain may have underestimated their game with Morocco and became overconfident  that's why there is no goal from Spain side too.

As I said earlier, Spain's game against Morocco will end in the penalty box. extra time started and both teams were still scoreless.
I wonder what's wrong with Spain? Is Morocco very strong now or is Spain weakened? Even so, I admit that Spain had more than 65% possession, but nothing came of it.
Luis Enrique and W Reragugui will be in a tense moment, they will try their luck if penalties are the last resort in this match.
I hope morocco wins this game and brings good news to the African continent.

Unfortunately Spain did not dare to try to attack the Moroccan defense penalty box, several times Spain attacked only outside the Moroccan penalty box and there were no threatening Shot on targets, plus the Moroccan defense was really like a Chinese wall, very strong and difficult to break through by Spain, this round of extra time at least had surprises from the two countries, whoever wins at least tonight's match is very interesting to watch.

Spain playing in attacking and holding  about the 77% match positions, but because of the only defensive playing of Morocco's   they can't make any score and I think the game will end in a tie-breaker in the end. And I think the match result is alos going to in favour of Spain because of their good strikers and their goal keeper.

How is this possible? The Spanish team, who were favorites to win the tournament, had a string of bad luck in the penalty shootout. First, Sarabia missed his shot and then Soler's attempt was saved by Bounou. Then Busquets goes left, and Bounou is all over it again. Moroccan fans went wild as Hakimi scored his side's fourth penalty in a 3-0 win over Spain that sent them through to the quarters of the World Cup.

Yeah, such a match is always tiring for viewers, but like I said before, I am happy with the way the game turned out, I wasn't expecting Morocco to play this good, but they did, as an African my self, I am very happy.
And the penalty shootout is currently going on, Morocco leading the score board and eventually would win..
This is another surprise all together, Morocco beating spain by 3:0 in a penalty shoot out, wow, congratulations all, I celebrate tonight, Morocco qualifying for quarter finals is a great achievement for African football.

It's incredible, it's so heartbreaking and finally in Spanish history they write down the pain. Morocco proves that it still deserves to be in the top 8. What's wrong with Spain? silenced by penalties, all must not have expected, this is Morocco and they deserved to win. I think Japan's penalty shoot-outs are still pretty good compared to Spain, they came home so soon after.

I agree. Moroccan team looked very solid and strong through whole match. I think their defenders were also awesome. Spain didn't exactly deserve win anyways. Their last goal position was perfect, guy who couldn't score it must regret later. Its really unlucky for him. I am wondering now who will play against Morocco at next round. Both Portugal and Switzerland can go to next round. Morocco vs Portugal or Switzerland match will also be very very enjoyable in my opinion. I won't miss to watch that match!

I was really surprised by this result. I was wrong about the estimate that if the penalty took place then Spain would be the favourite. in fact Morocco remained superior and won in a penalty shootout. Spain just made me lose my bet. Morocco didn't just survive the won Spain through penalty shoot out, and their attack and attempts were far better than that of Spain. Africa deserves a public holiday, no one saw this coming. I was hoping to see Spain and Portugal play in the Quarter finals, but Spain is now out of the game. I hope Switzerland gets the same motivation to send Portugal home. The under dogs are now fighting for dorminance.

I don't feel sad, I feel angry. For me it's not enough that they played decently, I wouldn't say well. This is a dreadful ridiculousness that comes on top of the defeat against Japan.  If we start analysing there are many things that have gone wrong, like the fact that there wasn't a single Madrid player on the pitch. A game like this should have been won 4-0 and the bookmakers were giving Spain the edge because we were favourite.

Luis Enrique has to resign today. And if not, he has to be sacked.

This is where the real advantage of Morocco and they really are ready for penalties. Spain missed with 3 kicks because Yassine Bounou really saved those kicks perfectly. It doesn't matter how bad Morocco's statistics are because the most important thing is to win and qualify for the quarter-finals, and now I congratulate Morocco.

Spain in the end had to admit defeat and exit this tournament in the round of 16. Their failure was very unexpected, but I can say they played well in this match. Spain should have deserved to qualify for the quarter-finals, but unfortunately it failed because Morocco was very well prepared for this penalty shoot.

Well that really was a surprise. I think that almost everyone be it fans or experts was pretty sure that Spain would go through into the quarterfinals. I could not watch the match live but looking at the statistics it seems that it was also not that lucky for Morocco to advance into the next round. Of course Spain had the ball the majority of the time but they could not really create a lot of good chances. They only had 1 shot at the goal which is a rally low number for 120 minutes.
It really seems like that the 7-0 win in their first game against Costa Rica was not positive for Spain after all. It gave them the false impression to be a stronger team that they really are. They already had a lot of problems in the match against Japan which they have lot and today it became obvious that this was not by accident.

Congratulations to Morocco. They improved their performance since african cup where they were eliminated by Egypt on the quarter-finals. If I'm not mistaken they are going to be the only african nation on the quarter-finals of a world cup since 2010, when Ghana played against Uruguay and lost on penalties. There are serious chances an african nation can reach to semi-finals this time for the first time in history!
