I still can't predict which team will win this Brazil vs Croatia match. But I can predict that it will be a tough fight between the two teams. The team that will lose in this match is the one that we all don't know. But if Brazil can win. It will be good for us because I have decided to bet in support of Brazil.

It's not strange that all bookies favor Brazil. They are by far more famous and I will say better team. If Croatia and Brazil play 10 games, I would say that Brazil would win at least 6 or 7 games. However quarter final is only one game and who knows what can happen. Maybe Croatian players find extra confidence because they are playing against Brazil. In fact Croatian players often give much better performance when facing a stronger opponent.

Predicting the Argentina vs Netherlands match is much more difficult than Brazil vs Croatia. The Netherlands has the advantage of being expected to win against Argentina even though the probability of Argentina winning is still higher. However I can expect Argentina to win that match over the Netherlands and that is my initial prediction for Argentina. Currently Argentina has @1.3 odds, while Netherlands @2.5. For fun during the match, I think it's safe to bet on the victory of one of them.

While things are clearly different for Croatia, they really weren't expected to win against Brazil. I have looked at several betting books and all are favoring Brazil to win so the odds for Croatia are really high. On some sites, the Croatian odds are close to @8, that's clearly a trap for bet.

My speculation is different from yours as my bet is that Brazil would beat Croatia and Netherlands would beat Argentina. I don't know why Argentina is often rated so big than necessary in this tournament, perhaps it's because of Messi. Nevertheless, it is getting tougher now as they are being matched with better teams than what they had played with. Not minding Brazil and Croatia, I don't know how Argentina would beat the Netherlands, maybe in the penalty shootout.
