Yes, Benzema is a talented striker that know how to achieve victory that will bring celebration at the end of the match. He really deserved this award, because he performed well through out last season that made them to eliminate mighty Manchester city with many goals to embraced the title. Benz as people from my side calls him us a great team player. I remember when it wasn't his time, he was the striker but also working for Ronaldo. He didn't complain but was playing and learning more and more. Even when Ronaldo left Real didn't believe in him to lead the team. They instead went for Haaland who didn't live upto expectations. At the end everything fell back to Benzema and I am very happy for him and his team spirit.

Bayern Munich's challenge in the Group phase might be easier but it's not yet into the last 16 and so on until they find a tough opponent, sometimes Bayern Munich always win easily at the start but when they will reach the top of the final there their mentality will be tested with several teams who is greater than him, so obviously Real Madrid has a lot of experience in the champions league and is strengthened with a great squad so ensure Real Madrid can reach the final again.
But that's what you say the Champions League is a lot unexpected maybe another team will win because we never predict that team.

I didn't even see Messi in the list for Ballon d'Or. It was really interesting in my opinion. Ronaldo was there but Messi wasn't. But even if Messi was also in that list the winner wasn't going to be him for sure.

I definitely agree that it will be way more interesting now in the coming years who will win the Ballon D'or now that both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has reached an age where they both are definitely past their prime. In the last ten years or so it was really boring because most of the time the award just switched between those two players.
That being said, for me the Ballon D'or is not really that important and i also think the voting system for the Ballon D'or is not fair, because it is done by journalists from each country and those votes are not very objective in a lot of cases. Like in 2021 for example it should have definitely be Lewandowski who should have won it but it was Messi again even though he played an average season.

Benzema has upgraded himself a lot after Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid. In about ten years, Ronaldo was considered as a main source of goals for Real Madrid and he received a lot of ball, key passes and opportunities from Benzema and other players. Benzema sacrificed himself for Ronaldo and for Real Madrid. But in the last 4 seasons, he is a main goal source for them. With all skills he developed in previous seasons, he became a more dangerous player when returning back to a striker position. In fact, Benzema is more than a striker.

I definitely agree that it will be way more interesting now in the coming years who will win the Ballon D'or now that both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has reached an age where they both are definitely past their prime. For audience, fans, it is not too important but for players, it is. Because it is one of biggest recognition for their performance in a year (previous rules) or in a single season (new rules for this one). Nothing can be fair and correct completely but if a player wins Ballon D'or, it is a very big achievement.

I believe that if PSG win Champions League in this season and Arghentina win World Cup later this year, Messi again will be called for Ballon D'or, the eighth for him.

There are several reasons why Real Madrid has always been a team capable of entering the Semi-Finals, Finals and Champions.

First: Statistically they do have great players in the squad, but this is not the only reason, because in other clubs there are also many great players, but not as capable as Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona are two  differen team with different work load. When Lewandowski was in Bayern Munich I don't think the pressure he was facing there can be compared to what is in Barcelona.  Bayern Munich used to be the strongest team in the Bundesliga league,  and with no tough competitors.  If Lewandowski is not doing more in Barcelona I won't blame him because Barcelona is competing with more tough teams than Bayern Munich.

I do not doubt the ability of Erling Haaland. Currently, he is one of the best strikers in the world but it would be wrong to insinuate that his presence is enough to make Manchester City win the UCL. We saw his frustration against Liverpool when Virgil van Dijk ensured that he had few goalscoring chances. Over-relying on a single player can be disastrous. We saw how Liverpool relied on Mo Salah in the 2018 Champions League finals against Real Madrid. Liverpool lost the match because he was substituted because of a dislocated shoulder he sustained in the challenge with Sergio Ramos. It would be more acceptable to say that with teamwork, City would be able to achieve their dream of winning the Champions league.

I totally agree that Real Madrid still remains the favorite to win the UCL this season. They proved they still have the capacity with their convincing win against Barcelona. They have a team that is potent in all ramifications. The attacking powerhouse is led by the best player in the world Karim Benzema and the bulk of reliable young prolific strikers.

All the teams you mentioned have the capacity to win the trophy but I am doubting the ability of Chelsea. Graham Potter is really doing a good job in the club but the team is going through a transformation process which might make it difficult to compete with an already established teams.

If it came down to player quality, PSG would have won it in the last few years because they had better players than other teams. The previous years' winners have taught us that the trophy is won through teamwork, not how many quality players you have on your team. Manchester City, without a doubt, has champions league experience, but they must understand that winning the champions league is not a one-man show; they are relying heavily on Halaand this season, which is not a good idea.
