Southgate will receive harsher criticism if the England national team draws in their next match, especially if they lose, it will be a nightmare for Kane and his teammates. Southgate has a number of quality players in his squad, they are all mainstays at club level, so managing them and winning games should be easier for Southgate.

The victory over Serbia deserves praise even though it didn't appear impressive considering it was only the first match. Plus, almost half of the England players Southgate has called up for this EURO are new faces, so it may take some time for them to gel. Actually, England didn't play as well as I expected in that match. And yes, England must be able to increase the effectiveness of their front line again. Because they still have difficulty creating good opportunities in this match. but this also happens because Serbia actually also has quite good squad depth. I've been seeing different fan bases since I started watching football but the England fans is undoubtedly one of the most impatient fan base across the globe. They're always quick to condemn their team and manager at the slightest poor result. Gareth Southgate is an Englishman and he definitely understands how high the expectations of the English fans are so I expect him to do everything within his tactical strength and experience to avoid any poor result that'll draw intense criticism from the English fans. Is like a division 2 side was playing against Serbia.
That's by the way but my concern is Phil Foden who performed poorly, he is the EPL best player and we all saw what he did last season and he deserved it. Is it that he normally perform well when he's surrounded by the likes of Rodri, Bernardo Silva and KDB? Because to me I think he's overrated as a player, if he was playing for a club like Chelsea who was struggling I think he couldn't play out his best just like Palmer, from the way he performed I think he's nothing close to Saka who played better both in club and country.

A number of speculations arose when seeing England first appearance against Serbia. To be honest, I'm bored watching it because there is nothing special about England's front line. The Group Stage won't be a big deal but after that England are no longer favourites. Without Bellingham single goal everything would have been in vain. Imagine England can only collect 3 shots on target with extraordinary players at their respective clubs. Even though they were able to score goals and win the match against Serbia, we have to admit that if England performance was still not optimal and maximum in the match, Serbia was able to appear pressing and even often could trouble England defense in the match but fortunately England had Declan Rice and also a solid defensive line when they defended, Serbia who was not the favorite in the match in my opinion appeared quite impressive and even they Succeeding in pressuring England by creating more chances than England created in the match, England performance and play are still very far from good, but in the first match, of course it was a very natural thing.

They seem to be one of the teams everybody wants to watch but with that weak display I feel Southgate should go back to his drawing board and reshuffle the team. I felt bad to even see players that are suppose to cause much damage to their opponent are struggling and the Serbia team wasn't good enough in front of goal.
If you talk about Saka, he tried in the first half, for a player who's returning from injury should have started from the bench. After the end of first half things changed for Saka, he couldn't play as he used to and I believe he's disappointed with how he played yesterday, my problem is Southgate don't have a better game plan, he's just using the big names and over hyping to intimidate other countries side, if not they're nothing I mean the England side.
