The problem with fund deposit, as I discovered painfully on btcex.com, is the time it takes. I was really interested by buying some bitcoins there so I've sent money last week. My money is still not on my account! (they replied me that they received it yesterday but they still have to handle the thing). Which means that, of course, all the offers I was interested in are gone!

@ploum: That's why we're gonna implement a better system. For "trusted members" there will be option to buy BTC without having funds on the account. The offer will be matched and you will be able to send money directly to BTC seller, or to BitMarket (which will act as Escrow then). That way you're never gonna miss the offer and BTC seller will be confident that he'll receive his/her money.

What do we mean by "trusted members"? That is yet to discuss, but basically a member with one or two complete transactions, and that is already some time on the site (1 week, 2 weeks, or so).

I think we will also match this to people's otc rating and their forum reputation.

I know this topic has already come up.  I have an old transaction (I'm selling BTCs) but the buyer is not sending me money.  In the meantime, the market price has gone up about 30%.  I don't know if the buyer is deliberately using my offer as a hedge, or is absent-minded, but I'd like to cancel the transaction.  How can I do that?

The site report "The site is down for maintanence. We will be back soon."

And I've seen reports that the exchange has been hit with a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack?

Any more info, or an ETA on when the service might be accessible again?

Just to say that we have cleaned up our database and some members' email addresses were not responding anymore (fake accounts). In the unlikely event that your genuine account was deleted, please email us.

New version of BitMarket.eu is up!

Changes:
  • Added USD currency (will add others if needed)
  • Added Market filtration - you can filter offers and transactions by currency
  • When filtering Market we show only 10 best buy/sell offers so it doesn't flood the page
  • Email activation - we now require you to have valid email address before buying/selling. This should lower the number of "fake" offers
  • We also force to have your country checked now

Next up - Paypal verification, OTC rating integration and more!

Hi Mahkul ,

I'm facing another problem.
Yesterday I transfered 25 BTC from my MTGOX account to my Bitmarket.eu account.
Blockexplorer shows they arrived in my account on Bitmarket.eu. So all seems fine.
For some reason I don't see the 25 BTC in my account though ?
Could you explain that ?

Regards.

Is the transaction confirmed by the network yet ?

Yes, the problem was frozen bitcoind. :/ All the coins are safe, but the database couldn't contact the deamon - hence they did not show up.

Before bringing the site back we are triple checking whether all accounts were properly updated (everything looks in order, the site should be back soon).

Hi, I saw the market is in maintenance ... My first question is when it will be online again?

And the second question - is there any movement about my doubts for possible scammer in the market? Notified the staff through the mail ...

Maybe I overlooked it, but the distinction between "local" and "international" wire transfer is a bit confusing for me...

With SEPA I can transfer to many international accounts for free, but not to all - so either I put in "local" and risk not getting anyone offering be BTC which I want to buy or tick "international" and then maybe get offers from the US that I don't want to pay the fees for.

Maybe either put in a "SEPA" option or clarify what "local" means further (as it could mean "local in the EU").

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.

Yes, please add SEPA wire transfer as a payment type.

We'll do that once we have everything in place. Now the strings are changing frequently, so there is no point in doing additional translations. But we'll definately look into this in near future Smiley
