If it is due to a site update, it would be nice if while updating the site you can put and easy single html page stating that the site is being updated.

Well I just checked with pingdom.com and leaserig.net is up. It is reachable from India also, (where Im at). Seems as though the DNS servers that Vodafone ( my ISP ) are using have lost Leaserig.net's name registration. Perhaps you recently updated your DNS information, and it hasn't propagated properly yet. In anycase I just added Leaserig.net's IP to my local hosts file and everything is fine again.

Code:
myshell$ host -v leaserig.net
Trying "leaserig.net"
Received 30 bytes from x.x.x.x#53 in 88 ms
Host leaserig.net not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
Received 126 bytes from x.x.x.x#53 in 79 ms

I'm in Spain, and I can't access the site either. I have to use a VPN to jump to USA, then it works.

LeaseRigs.net's IP address is 23.236.58.114 , you can simply add that to your hosts file. Everything will work fine then. It is only a DNS issue.

EDIT: I am assuming you already know how to add names to your hosts file, if you don't then let me know I can help you out.

This is bizarre.  I generally add google 8.8.8.8 and verizon 4.2.2.2 for DNS to thwart some of the local provider DNS issues which crop up all over the internet.

We have the ability to create leases in Hours, Days, Months, Years.

We are still working on the consumer -> provider contract page and the billing and reduced fee system.

I believe LocalPay providers may be eligible for 7 day leases soon and after the vetting and contract systems are done certain providers may be able to do long term leases (the ones I'm used to in 30-60-90 day increments) soon.

miaviator, I stongly request that all rigs by hostkey must be taken down at once. Please read all the complaints in this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435538.100;topicseen

We have metrics for provider / customer action in cases like this.   HostKey provides a lot of rigs and provides full and pro-rated refunds.    That being said we are acting in accordance with our internal policies.

When provider auto-reg. open ?  Sad

I hope never, it will keep the price higher for providers, also leaves the overall provider quality very high.

Agreed

Correct. Also, miaviator, can you make it so that customers are forced to make a rating before leasing another rig? That would help greatly.

Never force the costumer something, they might walk away rather then just spent 1 minute rating a provider.

Agreed.

Also if you FORCE a customer to do something they may do so in a more negative manner.  IE I'm pissed that I have to leave feedback.  I'm going to leave negative feedback.

Also keep in mind that the current default feedback level is 3 of 5.  Which is a terrible idea.  This means if someone is required to hit submit they will just leave you 3 of 5 stars in each category.

Yeah, I linked 23.236.58.114 to leaserig.net in hosts file and it worked. I know it's bizarre, today I used my school's computer, and it worked.
Seems to be an ISP only problem. My ISP is Orange España.

BTW Support has LRP compiled for the Rpi.  If anyone is interested in beta testing it open a ticket.  We are not liable if it burns down your home or kills your unborn children or something less severe.

My miner cannot connect to leaserig.net for the last 20 minutes (since 19:55 UTC). From home (different location) I have no problem with the site. Did you block some IP ranges?

I contacted my ISP and they seem to have some problems.

It's a regional DNS issue which should be affecting more than just leaserig.

You can make a hosts file on your miners/LRP rigs if you are having an issue.

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

/etc/hosts

Code:
23.236.58.114 leaserig.net rigs.leaserig.net www.leaserig.net

IMHO, adding that line to the hosts file would affect only website problem in case DNS servers are down. I don't think this was the case, because LRP couldn't connect directly to the IP 23.236.58.114.

? the issue as I understand it was DNS.  LRP would fail if there was a DNS issue.

I highly encourage providers to ensure their rigs list a location prior to the next site update.

They didn't quite share that information with me. Just that something was wrong with international connections.
And this only happened with one of the internet providers here.
