Yes, Gambling addiction can have severe and long-lasting consequences for them: they will lose their relationships, be less productive, their health deteriorate over the years, and financial problems like bankruptcy can happen. Related to the law, the worst end is the attempt to commit suicide.
The causes of gambling addiction can be the result of a combination of biochemical, genetic, and environmental factors. In addition, they may be lured into gambling.

That's the worse thing to happen, committing suicide as a result of having that kind of addiction and nothing left, but a ruined life and relationship with people who care about you before.

Either you become a criminal or taking your own life to escape with the burden of getting addicted,
things that madness can take you if you engage too much with gambling.

Right, those scenarios are possible but sometimes I think that when talk about those kind of problems we mostly talk about the extreme scenarios. None of us is supposed to underestimate the extend of the damage that can be caused by unattended gambling addiction, but committing suicide or becoming a thief sounds like something with could not happen as often as we assume. I would need to find some study in Google Scholar to verify it.

Probably those who have gambling problems realize about it and can overcome it over time, or perhaps they face economical risks of bankruptcy, but not commit suicide.
I like to think that being addicted is not an instant condition which seals our destiny.

Suicide or becoming a total thief happens frequently. When a person is addicted to gambling when they have been cornered. It will entail consequences, gamblers will feel mentally unstable, and They will find alcohol or drugs. Gradually they will become addicted to those things simultaneously. Their harm can be doubled. I am curious though. Have you ever met someone or seen someone to suffer from gambling addiction and either try to end their life or started to steal money from others?

Because, there is a possibility my personal perception of the problem is biased, because I have never seen someone to go down that path in such a drastic way, it could lead me to believe it is not as common as actually is.

It may be also some wishful thinking, so I can avoid to acknowledge the harsh reality so many people could be facing, you know,  as a coping mechanism of some sort... Because I have seen more people asking for food than I assume there are which suffer from problem gambling.

It's really bad for you if you will be greedy when it comes to gambling. Everything related to money, you must not be so ambitious because you might end up losing rather than winning because of being impulsive and irrational. Why they call it addiction is simply because one is  not able to stop it.If you are addicted to gambling,you cannot win one time and think you can just stop it like that,you will always have that believe that if you play again,you will still win,they might still allow you to win the second time,but I think the third time might just be a disappointment for you if you play it.You will keep on playing it expecting that you will certainly win,but the winning might not just come again,you will waste your money till you exhaust it.I have seen people win big amount of money through gambling,and they still ended up wasting all of them on gambling,because human being cannot be satisfied with what they have,we always want more.If learning were to be possible,I don't think people would gamble again,but it is not just possible,and that is why they call it addiction.

We cannot win continuously from gambling and there will be times when the casino will let you win but it may be a small victory. Meanwhile, after you have won some money if you are still gambling, it is time for the casino to take all your winnings and include all your remaining balance. That happens to many people who don't see it as a loss but instead deposit more money to try to recover from the loss.
