...///::: +1 Hi, Lucasgabd I think that regardless of the situation it is always good to have a plan B to help them (and/or us). Betting is something very lonely, mainly online betting, you have to know yourself very well as a player, however consult with other friends, players it is that plan B that helps, it is difficult to have the capacity to self-evaluate when things go wrong, in fact, if you don't know someone, keeping a blog about your games or simply commenting on it can help you to know at what level of control you are. So not only those who suspect that they are out of control should be evaluating themselves, every betting player should always be psychologically evaluated and if not, they cannot have a friend or have a blog, then this players should pay a psychologist. So, in one case it has a solution, in the other it does not, consequently sometimes these two conditions tend to be confused, an inveterate player is not necessarily a gambler addict, it is a temporary situation that sometimes occurs at any time during the game, sometimes more intense, other times less.

For me, whether rich or poor people make no difference if they can't control themselves when gambling and still have high curiosity, then at that time they will be trapped in gambling games, so just changing the mindset will help us get stuck in gambling addiction, for example change the goal of gambling not for money anymore but to seek pleasure so that it is easier to enjoy every game and win.
Usually, richer people are more disciplined than the poor ones, that's why they get to that feet. Poor people are worst if get addictive in gambling, they will start to lend, maybe lied and lend in money and covered with lots of debts, worst is to commit crime just to get money. On the other hand rich have lesser chance to do those crimes but the chance are still high. I remember what happened to dnpthree that he gamble the money of his investors without them knowing it. What a mess up. Well, there are still several - well, I wouldnt want to us the word "poor", but "average" is more appropriate to us - there are several average gamblers who are still well disciplined, though I still agree with you that, the average are more at risk of doing silly things for money if they get addicted, majorly, everyone is at risk, both average and the rich, what matters is the level of self control, and how the person in question cares about his or her reputation as an individual. that is not a rule of thumb that rich are spohicicated and poor are not I have witnessed some rich eduated people AT THEIR WORSE WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY DEALING

~snip~ gambling is an addiction and it makes everyone - rich or poor the addict and there is hardly any coming back unless the person has his own strong will otherwise poor and rich stand in the same line
From what I've seen it's usually the poorer people who end up in the casinos losing their money. The rich are too busy actually generating money in other ways, and because they usually analyze ways to make money the rich quickly realizes that there's no money to be made in gambling as a gambler, only as the owner of the casino.

Yin and yang . That's the nature of our universe . You can be the white side , you can be the black side anytime as you are the one who choosing the path. I mean here if you really thinking about how gambling is a dangerous thing and too much dark sides in it ... you should aboid it at anu cost and be at the otherside to get in the better position mentally and financially. Not much people aware about this , they got blind by the greed.

Another point is that even if the rich enjoy gambling simply for the thrill they can get, the money they spend when compared to their net worth is very small, while someone which is poor is spending a great deal of their money at the casinos, still there have been cases of rich people getting addicted to gambling, and as you can imagine they have lost a fortune in the process, with some of them losing hundreds of millions of dollars over the years.

rich people and poor people all have the opportunity to become gambling addicts depending on their individual situations. for example, rich people gamble too often for fun and feel that gambling is the most comfortable place, of course they will always spend their time and money on gambling. and for poor people if they gamble in the hope of doubling their money but instead they lose, I'm sure they will chase their losses and will end up addicted. so this is not a matter of rich or poor but more to the mindset.

More on how they deal on it, your point is valid as there's no one who can avoid getting addicted if they've got too much engagement from business and industry, gambling at first for fun but eventually the appetite will change and the desire and lust will push you to play longer than usual, some indications that you can't no longer limit yourself and you are prone to do crazy things because all inside your mind is to play and to gamble trying to win or trying to find new sets of strategy to win decently.

There are gamblers who see the gambling as the way to make passive income but once they lose their whole life savings in a day it becomes their biggest nightmare, unfortunately. Some users are not mentally healthy to control their emotions, so they keep chasing big wins that may happen in the next minute or after a year. Gambling with zero expectations is the best method to fight gambling stress, otherwise, it becomes the way you torture yourself in the long run, IMHO.
First of all gambling is active not passive except if you will invest on the casinos bankroll but I like this better because the risk on this might be lesser than if you are against the casino which we know that there are house edges and it's high at most times. Secondly, betting the life savings in gambling is wrong but we often told to gamble only the amounts that are not necessary. It's not bad to chase big wins if it occurs in the next minute but what if not? It's possible to lose more than that winning amount you are chasing but I don't think a win can occur after a year if you are playing consistently. That is already an indication that the casino is a scam.

I'll give you a little extra advice. it would be better to avoid the mindset of winning big or making big money from gambling. in simple terms, if someone is too ambitious to get a win, all they have in mind is wanting to win, but when they get defeated, it will definitely be difficult to avoid emotions. almost all gambling addicts must have started with a lot of money.
usually thinking like gambling is the best way to make big money is the beginning of gambling addiction, when it continues to grow then their ambition will begin to damage their awareness in making decisions so it needs self-reflection to be able to prevent whether oneself has entered the addiction stage or not. do not let you commit criminal acts such as stealing, robbing and even killing just for gambling and the craziest thing is suicide because of gambling debts and so on anything that goes out of control and starts to be a problem in your life can become an addiction but usually people in balance who have good emotional networks, exercise, eat and sleep well don't become addicted so it's a matter of taking care and always being alert the main thing is to control emotions. as I said before that even professional gamblers will sometimes lose against their emotions and will end up losing which makes it difficult for gamblers to avoid emotions. all of that just depends on the situation at that time, I mean if you gamble in a calm situation without any problems I think you can control your emotions but if when you gamble you have other problems of course it will be more emotional and difficult to control. There are gamblers who see the gambling as the way to make passive income but once they lose their whole life savings in a day it becomes their biggest nightmare, unfortunately. Gambling with zero expectations is the best method to fight gambling stress, otherwise, it becomes the way you torture yourself in the long run, IMHO. That's when things go wrong because first of all, these people are already wrong about their perception that gambling can give them a passive income because it cannot be called as passive if they are working for it to happen and then there's the wrong thinking that gambling can be another outlet where they will earn a lot of money. Well, some of the times, it will happen but there's no such luck for anybody that will continue for several day. Meaning there will always be a time where you will lose what you have.

Sooner or later, they would find out those kind of differences and the real truth of those words on which they would really be finding out for themselves that it is really just that wrong on having that kind of perception. You would only realize things when its already too late or you had already experience the bitter situation specially when you are losing money. Getting addicted on gambling is likely to happen if you arent that good on making yourself realize on what gambling is all about. If you are really that minding about getting rich in gambling then you would really be having that kind of desperation in your mind on which you would really be pursuing it to happen and this is where wrong things to happen if you do have this kind of mindset. This cant really be just that possible via gambling because we know that gambling is really just for entertainment and not some sort of business or investment or passive income on where some people do really believe on.

I mean, you can automate sending money to the casino, so it can be very passive. But instead of passive income, it is passive debt

What kind of involvement in business and industry do you mean, buddy? If someone is a casino businessman they will not be addicted to gambling because they are unlikely to gamble and prefer to think about the casino that they have in order to further develop and become a big casino. Gambling addiction is a person's involvement in gambling and some of the points that you wrote are true at first someone gambles just for fun but over time they have excessive curiosity so that gambling addiction occurs. Gamblers like this will find it more difficult to stop gambling because they already feel pleasure when they win and are curious and emotional to continue playing when they experience defeat.

try to understand before replying. @Fredomago has nothing to say about any business or industry, nor does it say anything about gamblers owning gambling businesses.

If you really look into it, there are no rich people that gamble continuously. They know that they will end up losing their money, so they invest it in other things instead.
It's usually the poorest people the ones that end up gambling because they cannot afford a nice life, but they can afford to have the chance of having a nice life, which is the whole illusion of gambling
Well, rich people may not gamble continuously since they don't gamble to get big wins but they do it as a hobby or just to have some fun and use it as a pass time activity. The high rollers in every casino, especially the land-based ones, are rich people who gamble with a lot of money and some of them don't even care if they lose all of it. The main thing is the difference in perspectives and how people from each category look at gambling. A rich person would obviously not look to gamble his way to richness since he is already rich, and a poor person wants to turn the little money that he has into a fortune.

~snip~ Well, rich people may not gamble continuously since they don't gamble to get big wins but they do it as a hobby or just to have some fun and use it as a pass time activity.
Right, yeah, I think that's how it goes. The rich people gambling are just using a bit of their money for fun, knowing that they won't make money from it most probably. Whereas the poor will usually pay to have the hope to become rich, which ironically makes it impossible for them to ever become rich as they waste all their money.

Whereas the poor will usually pay to have the hope to become rich, which ironically makes it impossible for them to ever become rich as they waste all their money. Because for those who are poor and gamble just one win is able to forget all the losses they have suffered, for example, they getting $ 200 from 1 game with only $5 capital will make them happy because $200 may be the biggest value they have ever had but forget that before getting $200 they already spent quite a lot maybe even bigger but it didn't feel like it because they never recorded it and it happened over and over again. I see how people who keep buying lotteries even with only $1 every day who if they win only give them less than $100 and think they are lucky but they are not. Poor people often do gambling because they think this is the easiest way to get big money compared to continuing to work if they get the jackpot it will change their life even though their life won't change because usually, the person will spend their money more because they can't control emotions when get a lot of money.

It is kind of ironic that those which can gamble for as long as they want do not have the desire to do so, while those which do not have the resources would wish to do it, but that is simply human nature, once a person reaches a level of wealth they begin to become way more careful about the way they use their money as they want to retain their current status, and once they do that they may enjoy to gamble and put some of their money at risk, but at the same time they will never bet more than what it allows them to obtain the fun they are looking for.

Rich or poor both love money. Those who gamble would want to quit it. Those who have not tried it. Would want to have the taste of it. One of my friends is Muslim ans he avoids gambling and is scared to loose his money. So I too want to save my wealth and would like not to gamble.

The thing is gambling is not a way to make money, and rich people know this. They might play here and there, but they make their money in different ways. Poor people usually don't make money in other ways and they gamble in the hope of becoming rich, which will never happen.
