I believe this is a browser cache issue.
What I can suggest is not to have multiple tabs open on the talkimg website. In the same tab, click on "new upload" and follow the normal procedures. This will help avoid this situation.

1. At first, I got this error on my smartphone while trying to upload an image.

2. I just tried to upload a different image using my laptop, and yes again same error.

I did nothing actually nor did I cleared anything. Just the usual, how a regular user does. Turned on my device, opened the browser, went to talkimg and tried to upload. Normally I don't clear the cache, never felt the need to it.

I'm a windoes user btw.

I'm guessing it might be related with my ISP. I live outside of town, village area, where getting a good internet connection or broadband service is like hitting a gold mine. We have only one provider at our place, so you can imagine my situation here. Also, I don't have a real IP, the one that my ISP provided me is a shared one. I don't know how many people uses that.

So, this can really help with these specific events.
Under-usage can result in a slower connection to the server, increasing its response time, causing this problem.

I have been having issues with this, I want to know why there is default height and width parameters in talkImage when they are not suitable for the forum. For instance, I screenshot this image. Let me post it with the default talkImage size settings.


Now let me adjust it to height 300 and width 150.

Which among the two is appropriate.

TalkImg does not have any standard size for images. The height and width that automatically appear are the actual sizes of the image. Having this information in BBCode or not having the result is the same.

If you want the image to be smaller, you must take a smaller screenshot or resize the image before uploading.



To help clarify this doubt, I will give an example.

With size defined in BBCode / Result:

As you can see, there is no difference. And it's not TalkImg defining these values, it's the image itself that says what these default values ​​are.

Why are we using this option by default? For two reasons.

1. Normally, images on websites have these values ​​defined, to allow the browser to read the entire website more correctly when the page is loading. This allows the page to look organized even before images, text, and other graphic elements are loaded. This information being defined here in the forum, generates the same type of result. It makes it so that when we enter a topic with several images, the page in the browser automatically appears at the actual size it will have after everything is loaded. Otherwise, the page will get bigger as the images load (this is more noticeable when the page has a lot of images).

2. Having this information allows the user to more easily resize the image without having to write this code. It is true that for many, this is irrelevant or they prefer not to have it, but they can remove or choose another code when copying from TalkImg. Either way, whether an image has this information in the BBCode that appears in TalkImg or not is the same, unless it is edited by the user.

But when width and height are specified (top image), it keeps the original height while making the image smaller. That looks terrible, and I usually switch my browser window to full screen to see the image normally. It's easy to prevent, by not posting embedded images that are too wide.
This problem isn't related to TalkImg, it's a forum "feature". I'll post this in PowerGlove's thread

Why cannot the script post with ONLY one of the parameters in order that the image will not distort?  As soon as both height and width are included in the script, then if one of the parameters is altered without altering the other, then the image will distort. 

I think that there have been quite a few members asking if the image script could have ONLY one of the parameters rather than both in order that images are not as likely to be posted with distortions.  I have been seeing a lot of newbies posting images with distortions, yet if they were to remove one of the parameters (or if the script only included one of the parameters by default), then there would be fewer of the newbies posting distorted images.

The way it is normally posted on the forum, in principle not having the width would not have this impact most of the time.

The height is important to maintain, as it ensures that the page loads quickly at the correct size.

I think that if you were to be able to implement the script so that it ONLY has one of the parameters (whichever one), then we would likely see fewer of those distorted images, whether those images had been coming from newbies or even coming from longer term members who had also been posting distorted images based on their changing only one out of the two parameters.

When you say I should make my browser small before taking the screenshot, do you mean by zooming or there's another way round it.

@Joker_josue, since talk image is designed mainly for the forum, why not set the bbcode with height or width that fits well in the forum than maintaining the original dimension of the image. I mean; force the forum parameters on every image, instead of the reverse.
