you can copy the image in the browser and then paste it on TalkImg. The image will automatically be uploaded on TalkImg
I just tested this in Tor browser, and it works. That is a very cool feature I didn't know about until now!

When I wanted to upload image, I've always been downloading image and manually uploading it on TalkImg until today and I feel so stupid for not doing this before. As it seems, you can copy the image in the browser and then paste it on TalkImg. The image will automatically be uploaded on TalkImg, so no need to download and reupload them manually.
I don't know how many people know about this but I think that it is a nice idea to give them a hint, i.e. write somewhere that users can copy and paste the image on TalkImg. This will help people to not download and upload it like me, it will save them some time.
Not only just this there is also multiple where you also don't need to copy paste individually in image host website simply you can use the software for quick screenshot taking and uploading by a few clicks.
You can use the  TalkImg API on ShareX as image host.
Or
You can also use this tools - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5425303.msg61387974#msg61387974

I used the same method as you. I always download the image and upload it manually. I didn't know you could paste it directly, like other websites do.

Now, I'd like OP to add an option to their hosting site to edit the image before uploading it. I'm not talking about complex editing, just things like cropping parts, crossing out, or adding simple text over it. Sometimes you want to upload something and need to edit it beforehand. It would be very helpful to have a mini-editor.

Sorry but what did you meant by copy and paste? Can you elabrote a little? I didn't understand the process. I have never noticed that image could be copied from the browser. I just use the "download the image" and then do the manual work. As for local images or screenshots I use the snip tools. In there I have noticed you can somehow copy the image. Btw, by copying did you meant the image link?  Huh

Edit: My bad, I figured it out.

I'm very surprised that some of you didn't know about the copy paste feature for hosted images website. Since I started using talkimg.com, I've been doing copy paste upload. Been doing that for years, and yes it really saves time.

The only thing I still wish TalkImg would change is the default link format. When the image is uploaded, it should default to BBCode full instead of BBCode full height. I think I've mentioned this before here, but up to now it's still set to BBCode full height by default.

 Statistics  July 2025____________________
In July we didn't have any special news, it was a quiet month that maintained a good pace of TalkImg use. I'd like to point out that we've surpassed the 200,000 image upload mark on TalkImg. Thank you so much for using this platform and giving us your full support.

The promised update is still being processed, and at this moment I can predict that only around October/November will there be any news. This deadline is a little long, but I have several projects underway, and I want everything to be done well.

Despite everything, it seems that current resources are still being discovered, thus giving the idea of new things. As you can probably tell, sometimes I can't even remember all the available resources, which might be interesting. But I'm grateful when users share these resources, they're a great help. Basically it's the true spirit of community, thank you!

Here are the numbers for the month:

Number of uploads in the month:
6 964 (-294 that in the last month)

Total disk space in the month:
1.91GB (-0.54 that in the last month)
Number of visits to the talkimg.com website in the month: 102 595*
Estimated number of times images were viewed on the forum in the month (hits): 4 788 414*
 Bandwidth in the month: 180.56GB*
*This data may not represent total/real numbers, because of Cloudflare.

Don't be surprised, I also didn't know that it could be done that way. Downloading and uploading images cost resources and time, hence I am happy that I visited this thread to learn this feature.

For the Talkimg platform to be running smoothly all through last month is good news. I celebrate with you and the project for performing above expectations regarding image upload. I cannot stop appreciating this platform for making adding pictures to Bitcointalk easy.

You have to take the www.
I still couldn't adjust the configuration on the server, to accept the www.

I have to dedicate a little time to solve it. I will try not to forget and resolve this in the coming days.

Either way, it works like this: zip.talkimg.com

I felt very comfortable using TalkImg, and the design is perfect. There are many websites where you can upload photos and get BBCode, but I like the look of this one. Everything seems to be working fine.

joker_josue you have been creating this since April 28, 2023, and I have seen many problems, but you have worked hard on it and fixed it beautifully. So far, you are working on it very nicely and it has been very helpful for the users in the forum. I would say you have created a significant site for this forum.

Dear joker_josue

I just wanna know, why the image size is limited to 2.5 MB only? Is it because of the server maintenance cost? Or is it because of the comparability with the forum? Or is it because it might slow down the image/page loading speed? Modern phone's captured images aren't 2.5 MB anymore, you know!! Tbh, most of the times 2.5 MB isn't a big deal, when we are posting screenshots. But when it comes to captured photos, we struggle. I know we have the zip tool, but sometimes it doesn't work properly! I tried it today and it got stuck at 94% something.

What I'm trying to say is that would it be possible to increase the limit to 3.5 MB?  Smiley

Image size reducing (either by dimensions or recompression) are a thing. Sounds to me a lot like you're too lazy to use appropriate camera settings or such a size reducing app on your mobile, aren't you? And if the upper limit were lifted, everyone else has to download larger sized images for the purpose of nothing. C'mon, seriously?

Smiley

   .
I've had this problem, and I had to crop the photo until I get the limit size,
     ...
but I believe it can fit a tool that reduces the size of the photo before uploading.

The forum's image proxy doesn't allow larger images.

Those images aren't meant to publish online without resizing. Yesterday, I took a picture with my (old) phone. It's 4.5 MB and 4032x3024 pixels. I know there are bigger monitors than mine, but mine can only fit 17% of that image on the screen. That's ridiculous to embed on a website, but could work very well if you post a smaller version that can be clicked to see, scroll and zoom the full version. Maybe TalkImg can offer that for large images: create a thumbnail and add an url-tag to link to the full version. Like this example linking to a 9448x6297 pixels image.

The problem isn't the file size limit, the problem is your phone. Phones are convenient to consume content, not to create content. Get a cheap laptop and the forum will work just fine Smiley

Phones "compete" on megapixels: a higher number means more buyers. I've seen 200 MP already, in a few years it'll probably hit 500. Increasing the forum's image size limit only means the difference between what's needed and what you're posting increases.

The only change I'd like to see is adding .webp support, but that's something only theymos can add.

I could add this feature. In fact, the script already creates thumbnails of the uploaded images.

The limit could be increased, and then the user could choose the BBCode mining option. The question is: how many would do this? Or remember to do this?
Since the forum's image proxy doesn't allow images larger than 2.5MB, this could cause confusion and would likely complicate an otherwise simple process.

I've been working with images on the web for many years, and I can say that it makes no sense to have images larger than 2.5MB on 90% or more of websites. Aside from sites dedicated to galleries or images, all others having such high-resolution images is completely unnecessary. It's one thing to have a photo to keep for yourself, which can be printed, displayed on a TV or projector, or for a professional project. It's another to have a photo to post online, in a non-professional photo environment, and for general use.

I know we have the zip tool, but sometimes it doesn't work properly! I tried it today and it got stuck at 94% something.

I intend to improve this tool; it still doesn't work as I imagined. But first, I have to release the scheduled update for TalkImg and reorganize myself for other projects. Then I can dedicate more time to the zip tool.  Wink

I would love to have a resizer embedded to the main page. Right now I go to talkimg.com, upload my huge image, then paste the bbcode into bitcointalk and change the width/height to 50% or so. It would be better if I could just provide the width I want and the image is resized->uploaded at once, saving space on your servers and bandwidth when people see my image.

Joker_josue, can you add WebP support for image uploading?

I'm not sure if the forum's image proxy supports them though. Though I'd suspect that they would not be downloaded and rendered on the forum hardware in any case.
