Anyone else having issues to upload the images via talkimg? It was working fine for me up until 2 hours ago, when I started getting this below. I tried different images ofc, and always getting the same result.

Btw, did you kept the talkimg tab opened for a long time, and then tried uploading? Sometimes it's just issue with the credentials and a quick refresh or reopening tab fixes it.
Like you I also faced similar situation in the past. No matter how many times I tried, how many different pics I used, it never gets uploaded.
Turns out all I needed to do was a start fresh.  

For security reasons, sometimes, when the page is open for a long time without activity, the server turns off the credentials connection (let's call it that). Even when browsing the site, the upload system may not work correctly. If this is the case, try closing the tab and reopening it or force refreshing the page so that it loads new credentials.

Yep, that's exactly what I did. I started working on that local board overview that I am making, but then something came up and I left my computer on for like 4-5 hours, with Talkimg tab opened  and when I came back, it stopped working.

Anyway, I just reopened it and its working so I guess that was the issue. Thanks for the solution!

TalkImg had another solid month, with a steady upload rate. Once again, thank you for your support and continued use of this platform. With the pumpkin contest happening, October will certainly see a bigger spike in uploads, we'll see.

As I said before, I'm planning to do a platform update by mid-November, where small adjustments will be made to improve performance. With that in mind, I liked to challenge the community to share ideas that they would like to see implemented in TalkImg. These ideas can be useful in defining the next steps following this update.

Maybe you faced some temporary problems with server, so you can try uploading again or change browser.

I think most of the tings I need or image uploading service is already covered.
One thing you could potentially change is for uploading multiple images, in case when I want to resize them all at once in same size.

Nah, it wasn't that. I was keeping my tab opened for too long (several hours) without any activity and according to joker_josue that's what caused the problem.

Yes, I've already contacted the non-AOBTers to make sure they have been notified. Also, the update in the Spanish translation is already done and I've asked the active members in my local board to share ideas that they would like to see implemented in TalkImg.

I think this would be helpful for many of us because sometimes when we go to create reports or where many images are used regularly, if the name of the image is included in the link, it can be easily identified and updated.

Seems reasonable to me , but in that case we have to make sure each uploaded image comes with an unique UID, otherwise there might be conflict if multiple users tries too upload images with the same name!

The name change is to ensure that each image becomes unique and to guarantee greater privacy.
We used to have a model that used only name and ID, but I don't quite remember (it was over a year ago) the reason for the change to the ID-only model, but I have the idea that it was to guarantee greater privacy. This is because the images often have names of dates or locations (those taken with smartphones, for example), and this could compromise privacy.

Having an "ID folder" model isn't viable, since we receive hundreds of images per day, which would generate thousands of folders. This would increase server resource consumption, which doesn't make sense. Besides, it's not an intelligent way to organize information.

I could reconfigure the system to use only the original name, but if the same name is repeated, the system would still generate an ID. So in the end, I would only partially resolve this issue, as the name could easily end up with an ID.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to have a model that pleases everyone, but we think this one ends up being the most balanced.

I have a suggestion for you though, how about adding an "upload history" feature, where users can find all the images they had uploaded in the past. It's already available mate! You just have to make your account there, and keep yourself logged in. And whenever you upload something there will be a history! As for the registration process, I forgot how it's done, I don't remember how I made mine. Afaik, you have to send joker_josue a PM with your mail, and he can set up an account with a temp pass and later on you chance the password.

I don't believe the community is dying to have this thing . And to be honest I wasn't either, because I never felt I would need it, I don't post/manage a lot of pics. I only made my comment because I saw Crypto Library brother doing it. He properly needed that because, he is kinda in charge of (unofficially) posting the update of monthly overview of our local board, contains pics, graphs etc.

And I never gave it a second thought, how a name could expose privacy. Now that you explained it, I understood how! What if someone actually uploads an image with his real name! Privacy = 0

I vote to keep it as is, too. Using a user supplied name or fragment of it, is a bad idea, even if the image hosting server makes sure to never generate name conflicts. There will be users who might spoil their privacy by being careless. Doesn't matter if it's their own fault. I see no good reason to use user data for naming of picture files.

If you use your own hosting, you can use any name you want (that's what I do).
