Liverpool is barely scraping by all their games but they are still winning and if they keep winning this week as well, it's going to be pretty hard to stop their momentum because this run of games at the very start allows them to be ahead of everyone else early on, and even if they have some mishaps along the way, they will keep their top position.

When you are ahead of everyone else so much that even a loss still doesn't lose your position, in that case there is a chance you could probably have the title much easier. Because in many cases, most teams do not start this well, and at the end when they lose, they lose their position as well, or get closer. But if you lead with a lot of points right away, then you are going to be luckier.

You talk about the points gap like it is 15 points gap, man it’s barely even 6 points and with them losing to Crystal Palace on Saturday and Arsenal winning against Newcastle United yesterday cuts that point gap to 2. They will have to do better going forward now to stay up there, this is the premier league and first position is not promised to anyone at this stage of the season.

Liverpool finally lost their first game of the season, most people might be surprised they lost to Crystal Palace, but I am not surprised. Like you mentioned they have been scraping to win most of their matches this season and I have mentioned it on here that their issue is that they concede a lot of goal and win most of their matches in the dying minutes. They are still on top right now, but Arsenal has reduced the gap to 2 points after their win against Newcastle which put pressure on Liverpool. I will still bet on Arsenal to win the league,  because I feel they have a better team and also have team depth.

In last three seasons of EPL, Arsenal is runner up and there fans now want them to lift the trophy. The key difference between Arsenal and Liverpool in this season is that Arsenal defence looks more solid and it's evident from the number of goals they have conceded so far. Arsenal must try to take the points lead as quickly as possible because once the points gap widens it become difficult to move up on the points table. If you look at top 5 team on points table, then Liverpool has conceded the most goals and they must look at this area to improve it.

Why would him resign when it's better to be sacked; this way he goes home with all his contract salaries for the rest of his contract paid, resigning means he's forfeiting all that. It's a simple situation if the INEOS don't find him worth anymore they should simply sack him and pay his contract in full.

I honestly expected more from him when he got here but he hasn't leave up to that expected yet.

Amorim might be a good coach but not a good leader, he always avoids blame and lays them on his players and trust me that's the least way to keep your players motivated. A good leader should take responsibility for the errors of his team and not criticize them publicly. Even if they made mistakes, you allow them save face in public and call them to order privately. I have the impression that he's more like a boss to his players and not a leader. For me even if he's sacked like he said in the morning, his sack is even long overdue.

This blame Ruben Amorim throw to Bruno Fernandez is not proper, he should have just manage and take the defeat like that because he is the coach and most players are making mistakes like this one. He is not the first player to miss a penalty in Manchester United, and just because he missed today when the team needed that goal is not a reason to attack the player because he wasn’t happy too. The manager have every right to drop the player before the match or change him along the line not to be blaming him for why he should have controlled by given another player a chance to take that penalty.

However, Bruno also have fault because this is the second time he missed penalty, even though I know that there is a lot of pressure when playing such penalty, but he should have given it to another player if he isn’t confidence on himself when he is about to play the penalty.

You are saying this because you aren't in Ruben Amorim's shoes, but if you were among Manchester United coaching staff, you would have known the pressure on Ruben Amorim and why he blamed Bruno Fernandes for Manchester United's defeat against Brentford. This is not the first time Bruno Fernandes has missed an important penalty for Manchester United this season. I support Ruben Amorim for the call out on Bruno Fernandes so that Bruno Fernandes can improve his performance for Manchester United. Ruben Amorim dropping Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United squad isn't the right thing to do because Bruno Fernandes is one of the best players in Manchester United; Ruben Amorim should just give Sesko the duty to take Manchester United penalties since Bruno Fernandes isn't fit for the duty.

The issue with Manchester United I don't think is actually from the manager or even players. For some season now they have been changing coaches and even players yet the expected result is far fetched . So until they identify the root of there problem and then tackle it from there thats the only time they can arrive at lasten solution to there problem. Replacement will never be a nice idea, what they need do is to do a thorough scrutiny to be able to know the policies that they have to key in to since it is obvious that non of there policies is working.

Yes I agree to what you are trying to say here, the problem of Manchester united is not the manager if you ask me because so many good and top class managers has been hired but they all failed which led to their sacking at some point in time, so sacking Amorin wouldn't solve the problem of Manchester united on the longer run.
If we look at the crop of players at Manchester united presently, they aren't that good enough to compete against the bigger teams and they succumbs to pressure easily, so what the hierarchy of Manchester united should do is to revamp the team by selling like 95% of this their current players, and sign in new set of younger and more quality players that have the heart to fight for the badge of Manchester united, not this players that are playing nonsense since they are not the one's that will be held accountable if things are going wrong as it is now.

To be more precise no body can tell what's the issue with the Red Devils over the years they have brought in several coaches and have also change some players thinking that's where all the problem is coming from yet nothing seems to have change the mater is even getting worse.

Man united don't know how to sign a players I don't even know who buy players for them 90% of their problem is from the players they buy, i always feel bad watching Man united match that is not Man united of old. I don’t think Manchester United will part ways with Ruben Amorim this season, they can’t just afford that right now, if they consider sacking him this seasons they would have to pay him $12million, then after that they will still bring in a new coach and also start paying him, that too much of expenses.

And for Amorim to consider resigning I still don’t think that will happen too, he will look like a coward, like a man that can’t get Manchester United in order. I think he needs someone that will talk to him so he can consider using a different philosophy maybe they will work out for him and the team as a whole.

Maybe after the end of this season and he doesn’t improve them they will take a drastic decision about him.

What an End to the game at St. James park, no one would have believed arsenal would have travelled back to Emirates with all 3 points. This was a match maybe only the players and the manager believed that winning will be possible at that time. It a good game honestly and sometimes in football all you need is to believe. It a good one to watch, the intensity and tempo in this game was absolutely top notch.

The gunners need a win to close in with Liverpool after their loss at crystal palace and they did exactly that. 2 good goals from set piece works it out for them again. Moreno again proven to why he is a vital player for gunners especially in games like this, Gabriel got the winner in stoppage time. Arsenal looking like a serious contender for This title again.

It would have been a disappointing result if Arsenal had failed to win against Newcastle, it was a game where I expected Arsenal to travel to James Park to secure three points, and they did it despite the fact that it was a difficult game for them, the most important thing is that they got three points to close the points gap between Liverpool. Arsenal is behind Liverpool by two points. Arsenal must give it their best to reach the top of the league, as they seem to be capable of doing so.

Moreover, Newcastle has only won one Premier League game this season, they continues to struggle to win games in the league, so I was confident that Arsenal will win the game. Even when Arsenal was behind by one goal, I believed they would equalize and seal the victory, Merinho came off the bench with an equalizer, and Gabriel scored the winning goals in the dying minutes.  The Gunners achieved a great result.

It is not easy for a club to sign coach every new season. Manchester United brought in Amorim last season and planning to sack him this season is a lot of expensive for Manchester United. I dont know what will be the decision of Manchester United about the issue of coach but if they are looking into bringing a new coach, they need to take their time and be sure it is a coach that can truly transform the performance of the team to be better.

And for Amorim to consider resigning I still don’t think that will happen too, he will look like a coward, like a man that can’t get Manchester United in order. It is very difficult for any coach to take a step to resign even in the worse state, it is not an easy decision for Amorim to just resign from Manchester United. He will seize to become Manchester United coach until the day Manchester decides to sack him. It is difficult for every coach to resign when failure is hitting so much .

Has anyone watched the Champions League game between Liverpool and Galatasaray (Liverpool lost 1-0). I missed it and am waiting for decent highlights.
What went wrong? Stats (other than goals) are showing Liverpool had some advantage, but I expected a different result as I considered Liverpool to be a few levels above Galatasaray. Was it just bad luck or something else?

In another game, Chelsea earned 3 points on Benfica, with a minimum 1-0 win. Not an impressive one, but hopefully it will restore their confidence after their previous 3 losses in a row (excluding the EFL Cup win against weak Lincoln).

Arsenal, Man City and Newcastle are playing their UCL games tomorrow and are all favourites.

Well to me I think this sentiment here seems to be that the manager, Amorim, should be held accountable for the team's performance, not just the results, but for not taking responsibility and protecting his players. From my perspective suggestion well that a manager's role extends beyond just winning games, but also includes leadership and team management.

Not taking ownership of the team's struggles and instead, putting players in difficult situations, falling to shield players from criticism and pressure, potentially affecting their morale and performance.

The comparison to Erik Ten Hag implies that Amorim's inability to take blame and protect his players might be a key factor in the team's struggles.

Same here i didn't watch the liverpool match I was busy watching chelsea vs benfica match at the same time tracking liverpool's match, I was so disappointed at liverpool imagine galatasaray defeating liverpool in a row. I don't think if this is a bad luck Because liverpool did not perform well, I think thier previous lose is still affecting them seriously Because I never imagined that liverpool will lose against galatasaray. Though if you look at thier previous meeting you will see that galatasaray have more wining probability than liverpool yet I still went ahead to bet liverpool hoping that they're going to win this time but no Way.

Bad luck? No, not at all.    Liverpool simply played terrible which was quite a bit unexpected. Their opponent Galatasaray also defended them really well of course. Now it's a 2-match losing streak for Liverpool!

They won so many matches by small goal differences as you know. Now a bad form has started for them. As their next match is also a tough one away against Chelsea, I won't be surprised if they leave the pitch without a win again.

The champions League game today was something else cause after Frankfurt defeated Galatasaray I least expected Liverpool to lose despite playing from away but they disappointed me as they were poor in performance, they had the opportunity to get back into the game but the players were too weak in their performance even when they were dominating the game they couldn't create good chances to equalize the goal. Galatasaray played well especially Victor Osimhen who was a threat to Liverpool defense and the goal scorer of the game.

After Chelsea won the club World Cup, beating the ever inform PSG with a humiliating 3 goals to nothing, we all burdened this Chelsea side with so much expectations than they could keep up with. We’ve seen Palmer in and out of injury and it’s reflecting on the performance of Joao Pedro who is currently over used. This could cause some strain in the squad with Delap out and the team continues to rely on very few players for its performance. This Chelsea side might not find their way to a good form anytime soon I think.

Liverpool had another disappointing game tonight. Their next match against my team Chelsea might be a turning point for them, getting back to their winning ways. Our defense is far from it best and their fearsome attacks won't go easy on us in order capitalise on our silly mistakes most especially.

These are the reasons why football is described as a dynamic gat. Because football is unpredictable full of surprises this was one game that Newcastle was in control for a great period of the game. Newcastle assumed that they have already won this game that, is why they allowed arsenal back to this game in the dieing minutes of this game.

I didn't even rate Newcastle United to win Arsenal or be a difficult opponent for Arsenal because after Isak moved to Liverpool, Newcastle United's performance declined this season, which made me believe Arsenal would defeat Newcastle United so easily. But after Arsenal managed to defeat Newcastle United 1-2 from away, it shows that Newcastle United can still compete in the Premier League despite Isak moving to Liverpool. Newcastle United were close to winning Arsenal, but Arsenal were lucky enough to score 2 goals in the 84th and 90th minutes respectively to snatch 3 points from Newcastle United.

I don't know why Manchester United managers get this treatment. I don't know why when it comes to change they want it to happen in a flash for Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp was in worse situation with Liverpool when he took the job but breaking patterns and systems takes time the media and Manchester United fans want a sudden change. Why don't they study patterns too?! The so called Erik ten Hag was forced to change his pattern to accommodate the players,  I don't think Ruben Amorim would do that. And I don't see the sack happening. A win against Sunderland silence the noise.
