As a Manchester United fan I know that task ahead of the manager for next season and since his performance was good for the team last season he is expected to even do more now that had has some good players added to the team and the coming back of Marcus Rashford should also be a good thing cause he is experienced in the champions League which could boost the performance of the team.

Michael Carrick is expected to win at least a trophy next season which is not a bad expectation but it is not mandatory for him to win the league if he happens to win the Champions League that won't be bad cause a good performing team should have a trophy to show for it .

I actually expected Manchester United to have made some top-tier signings by now, but it looks like you are planning to rely more on last year's heroes. I don't think Rashford's return will add any boost to the team. He hardly had any impact in La Liga.

We surely don't know how Carrick and team will perform this coming season, and time will tell.

Manchester United's momentum started to improve towards the end of last season. They found their right pace. Arsenal's defeat proved that Manchester United can play well. United have brought in some good players in the new season. The coach is going to mix experienced players with young players in the attack. Manchester United will combine the momentum of last season and the new signings of this season to give them a better game. But one thing that Manchester United currently lacks is the depth of the squad. Although there are skilled, experienced and talented players in the starting XI, the team's substitutes are not very deep. So I think the team will be stronger if they can bring in a few more experienced substitutes.
I hope they continue the momentum of last season in the new season. Because i was also impressed with how they improved when the season was about to end by trying all their possible best to secure the right place in the table, if they can able to keep that same momentum this season they will go far and get the best out of the position this season. But one of the problems that Manchester United is face again is lack of consistency, even that last season if to say they where maintaining their consistency they could’ve been in a better place.

The two coaches are not in the same levels yet. I think it’s just overzealous Manchester United fans that are trying to compare them. Michael Carrick had a wonderful half season with United last season and that’s all he has to his name, so much more to be proven before we can start putting him in conversations with Arteta.
Let’s see how long it takes Michael Carrick to win the league if he lasts that long. Arsenal were patient with Mikel Arteta no doubt but he showed promise and there was improvement but only needed that essential luck.
Manchester United fans are always over dreaming and then putting on unnecessary pressure on a manager who is building a team.

If they can accept that they are not who they were over decades ago and are patient to see growth things might be different but I won't say Micheal Carrick is the right one until he prove himself.

It is very difficult to be a Manchester United manager because and it takes only courage to last in the job because no one has the patience and they expect results as in the days Alex Ferguson.. The fans are not patient and expect to have the prime Alex Ferguson in every new coach that comes. Several managers have come and still face almost the same pressure. Even the ones that were viewed as a bit successful still got sacked. Erik Ten Hag won two titles and still got sacked after winning the FA cup. Ruben Amorim couldn't stand the pressure coupled with his bad tactics and got kicked out too.

Manchester United fans only care about results and I don't see them as a patient team who could build for so long like Mikel Arteta. Arsenal had patience and now they're eating the fruit of their had work. Carrick only has to focus and do the job z and expect results. The half season experience was enough for the fans to love him already until he starts loosing points, that's when fans will come after him.

Manchester United are trying to regain their former glory. Ruben Amorim was in charge for just 14 months, but he has not achieved anything in that time. The team has literally deteriorated during his time in charge. Michael Carrick was appointed interim coach in January, but he has now been appointed head coach. The expectations of their fans may increase further in the upcoming season as Carrick is trying to improve the team and he seems quite optimistic. The team performed well in yesterday's friendly against Leeds, although the match was drawn and the result of the match was later decided by penalty kicks and Man United won.

Do you seriously think that Carrick made Manchester United a great winner? After all, he managed the team for less than half a season. Yes, he did an excellent job and noticeably improved the team's game, but calling them a great winner already is way too early. Only a full season under Carrick's management will show what Man United is really made of. So I would wait before making such loud conclusions.
Well, from what I saw last season, I'd say so. Mind you, I'm not comparing, but when Manchester United had managers as bad as Ten Hag, they at least won some games even with a bad manager. But with someone like Carrick, who really likes direct attacks and long passes from the defense, there's promise. Modern football is predominantly attack-minded.

If Carrick manages to connect the midfield with his best forwards, and if they're accurate, they'll have a goal-scoring machine. City shows promise. Arsenal, with Arteta, clearly need to improve their consistency, but Manchester United is hungry for victories, and that's what helps them—their desire.

We surely don't know how Carrick and team will perform this coming season, and time will tell.

You got a fair point about the lack of big-name arrivals in Manchester United so far, but they’ve still spent close to £85m on Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to rebuild their midfield after Casemiro left. So it’s not as if they are just gonna be running it back with the same squad they had from last season.

As for Rashford, Barca won the league with him contributing 14 goals and double digit assists.
It might not have been a world-class season for him, but i think it’s kinda unfair for you to say that he had hardly any impact for Barca last season.
Now whether he can actually replicate that run again under Carrick is another question, especially after being away from the first team for 18 months.

Carrick’s half season last year was good enough to secure him with third and the Champions League football, but doing it over a full season with much higher expectations is gonna be a completely different challenge.

And the window is still open for another couple of weeks, so there’s still time for more business.

A great statement from Carrick regarding Rashford. There may be some truth to the idea that in the 2026/2027 season, we’ll see Manchester United’s midfield combine with their best striker, making them a team with the potential to win the EPL title. Arsenal and Manchester City must anticipate Manchester United’s resurgence in the 2026/2027 season. While Arsenal will still have Arteta at the helm, the same cannot be said for Manchester City, whose partnership with Pep Guardiola has come to an end. It’s unlikely that Maresca will automatically be able to manage the team the way Pep did—including handling the Rodri transfer situation.

We hope so for Manchester United because, at this point, we all know how they did better last season, so we are hoping to see the same energy from them, and this is why we want to see if they will be able to  do even better that is what we want to see because Manchester United has done well until it becomes better, and there fans are equally waiting for what there team is going to playing next season, and at some point we need to wait and see what Manchester United is going to do this season because this is football, and when it comes to predictions, you can not tell exactly how things are going to happen next season and when it comes to footbal somethings can only be determeined when the season starts.

Arsenal have very often been a team that finished second in the league throughout their history. And, as far as I know, they have never really managed to dominate the league for a long period of time and win several consecutive league titles.

The English Premier League is a very difficult league, in my opinion, one of the most competitive. So I wouldn’t be surprised if next season the champions were Liverpool, Manchester United, or City. I mean, it could be another team, but not Arsenal.

Because Arsenal managed to play more or less without any slumps last season. And I think they were only able to win the title because City had a bad season. But if Maresca manages the team well, he could bring them back to the title, I wouldn't rule that out either.

Man City was much in title run till the time they played draw against Nottingham Forest and West Ham United, matches Man City should have won because both these teams are weakest team of 2025/26 season. If we look at past four seasons of EPL then Arsenal was in among top two in all of them. The fact that EPL is among top leagues of them world that is why its very difficult to say which team will win or dominate the upcoming season in advance.

It wasn't that difficult to predict the EPL after Pep's two seasons at the club, it was just there. It's either Manchester City or others. They win it 4x in a row and it was easy to predict. Personally, I still maintain that Pep lost his touch after the divorce saga came out online, that man was going through something else emotionally. If it were before now that Pep was only focused on football, he would have still won the league again. It's happened several times from that stand point, Manchester City always takes over around February or March and that's how they been winning the league.

We're two significant signings short at the moment and without that, we can not win the Premier League Competition or even stay consistent amongst the top four clubs in the Premier League standing. I love the new model of controlling possession and also being direct with the opponents.
I will so much love it if we can also get a new defender, but if Harry Maguire, De Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro and Heaven, if they can all keep fit and stay consistent, we will do a lot good this season. I'm sure we're seeing so much goals, but we can not win games if the defenders are not in a good shape. Maybe not the Premier League Competition and Champions League though, they're no where near winning these two trophies.

How can you say Marcus Rashford had no impact in the Barcelona team last season? It seems you don't really watch his games, there was a time when most of Barcelona top players got injured I can still remember vividly that Marcus Rashford carried the team till they all returned, so you can't tell us he had no impact last season, I don't know he might bring out his mind to work with Michael Carrick, at same time he might not, the fact is either way is his choice to make, but truth be told he's a very good player no doubt.

Marcus Rashford was indeed a great player at Barcelona and as such he did that with the assist of the team mate proving to all of his team mate that consistency and dedication pay when it comes to football. Secondly, Marcus Rashford is that player that's not selfish. In term assist, and to make the club fly higher. That alone place him on the map  of one of the greatest player of our time, even  when he was playing in Manchester united club. He can be considered as a legend in Man U now even if the team mates do not see him as one, but for everyone who have watched football and have seen him okay the game of soccer, you will always see Rashford as a very good player, and if integrated well into this current Manchester united squad, he will definitely improve the team.

Manchester United really did well when Michael Carrick tool over last season and they got some good wins against the big teams, especially that of Arsenal and Manchester City, but I totally agree with you that it's to early to call them a great team. We should remember that Manchester United was only playing in the premier league when Michael Carrick took over the job, so I guess it was much easier for him to concentrate on just on competition. I think we will get to see how good or bad he is this season, since they will be competing in all four competitions, although I think he is a decent manager,  but let's see how he and his team cope this season.

That true, playing in just one competition was one advantage Carrick has when he took over Manchester United, a lot of teams were in other competitions, especially the big team, but Manchester United was playing just once a week or once in 2 weeks. Now they will be playing in all available competitions, which will be a very busy schedule for him. These plenty fixtures will definitely bring injuries, Especially to key players, now we will see how he will manage in such situation.

We can’t still take away the fact that really did well last season, so I think for that we should give him credit. Now he will have a full season to him self. Personally, I see them in the top 4 race but u don’t see Manchester United winning the premier league.

It won't be an easy season for Michael Carrick because Manchester United will be very busy with many matches so this is where the competence of Carrick will be tested. Though they have a great squad but I don't think they have much substitutes to run around with in the various competitions that they will attend. The team is also lacking behind in some areas and besides they haven't really given Carrick that freedom of choice and the power to make decisions on his own. Manchester United needs to come out of their shell because it's about 13 years since they last won the Premier League and it's not a good record for a team that has won the league for record 20 times. Arsenal used to be the big team with title barrier for over 2 decades but the broke the deadlock last season by winning the EPL so Manchester United needs to opt their game before they get similar experience that Arsenal had.

I know the expectations of the Manchester United fans will be high, but I think winning the UCL is much to expect now. Carrick is at the stage of building the team for the coming seasons, he is gradually returning United back to their best, so we should watch his performance in the league first before talking of winning the UCL.

United has been out of the UCL for seasons now, so it won't be easy for them to dominate the UCL let alone, winning it when stronger teams are there. Carrick should be more focused on winning the premier league first then the UCL second. The UCL will be much more competitive next season, and much more stronger teams will be involved, I don't mean the United team is not enough to win the UCL, but they are at the point of recovery, they should focus on fully strengthen the team, then strike for the UCL in next 2 season.

Last season was their best season after a long time, I don’t think they can maintain any consistency better than what they did last season. It was a position they well deserved that they got. Manchester United have also tried their best to finish in the top four to make it to the champions league, they be amongst the teams that will represent the English side in the competition. More is expected from them this season if they keep up with the performance of last season. I have no doubt on Micheal Carrick’s management, I just doubt if the players can keep up with the energy to make them finish in a very good position next season. Manchester United should be a contender for this year’s Premier League season, I can see that in them, I just hope they don’t disappoint with low quality performance when the new season begins fully.

Comparing What Arsenal was facing and that of Manchester United is very wrong because Arsenal had that patience with Arteta is because there was already a good sign that he was doing a great job. Although Arsenal was having hard time in winning trophy during those seasons but there performance was never the same with that of Manchester United. Arsenal under Areta has been Contenting for the premier League title and they had finished top 2 in almost two or three seasons. This was actually a good sign that Areteta was doing a good work. But in the case of Manchester United the reverse was the case . For more than 3 or 4 past season they have not been able to finish among the top 4. Therefore, Manchester United was not being impatient as you think. The club didn't get the results they were expecting from those managers.
