Overspending and allotting so much time just to bet and play without proper direction in mind and assessment of the risks are most commonly done by gambling addicts. They do not really care much about the repercussions and rather continue to play and bet as much as they like. It's not required for a successful gambler to be successful every time they gamble, it's just that they shouldn't lose any money to the house ever, by which I mean that when they lose, they should gamble some other time and win enough that recovers what they had lost previously. And, it's not possible to find such gamblers very often, maybe one out of a million be able to achieve that, gambling for years and not losing anything to the casino at all.

An addicted gambler on the other hand will barely be able to win anything, they will always lose everything they have, even if they manage to win something sometime, they will eventually lose it back to the house due to either greed or the hope of recovering previous losses which never happens.

my answer is no because being good at gambling means you have practiced and learned how to play well, like getting good at a specific game.
Addiction, on the other side, means you can not able to stop doing something even when it causes problems. some good gamblers might look like they have addiction problems, but not all of them do.

You can’t be successful if you have no sense of timing. For you to be successful to be in anything, you need to be aware of the time as well as money spent in doing. If you seem to be spending a lot of time and money and it doesn’t seem to be productive, it’s best to leave it. In gambling, people spend a lot of time and money and it almost always doesn’t turn out productive.

Basically, in some way successful gamblers are quite the opposite of what gambling addicts are. Successful gamblers mostly strategize and limits their bets to minimize loses and maximizing odds for it to be on their favor which is the reason as to why they are successful on their gambling endeavors. But just as successful gamblers are, gambling addicts can also be as responsible as successful gambler however they lack the strategy to maximize their profit and continue gambling even with continuous loses.

No one would accept he's a gambling addicts, mere looking at the physical qualities, everything will turn out to be more obvious in the system. Losses and wins are viable outcomes in gambling, and everyone in the room has their own goals to pursue. We all record losses, but we make certain that our losses do not exceed our winning ratio in the system. But there is a limited number of winners in the system, and if there are many professionals and almost no recreational players, then some of them will begin to lose and ultimately these losses can affect him and knock him out of disciplinary balance. This may prompt him to relapse and become a drug addict, looking for someone to borrow money from for gambling in order to win back. I saw something similar in the movie "Molly's Game". What I mean is that the line is very thin and to a very small extent I still consider professionals to be drug addicts.

Yes in a way that they don't want losing that they tend to think of how can they recover from the loss. In a way that they will seek out every possible way that they could think of in order to get back to the game. They can sell their properties or belongings to the point that when there's nothing left, it will affect their lifestyle, their sleeping habits, their eating habit, stressed emotionally, mentally, and physically.  Nothing is enough for them. They are drowning in their obsession of recovering.

If they get to the point where the game affects their life so much that sleep is disturbed, and the search for food turns into begging or robbery, then we can confidently say that the person has crossed the red line. For him, the game became higher than primary needs. After this, there is a final step that I would not like to talk about, but the possessed person can do literally anything, this is called the very bottom. I wouldn’t even wish my enemy to bring to such a state, but that this is happening in the modern world is a fact.

The world is unfair, some people would dream of being born in a well-fed country without wars, but someone born in such a country manages to slide themselves to the very bottom.

This is not a question that is as easily answered as you just did because it should start with the definition of what a successful gambler is.

When someone gambles for 5 years and spends $100 per day gambling, that would make a total of $182,500 in cost. Now assume that he wins one huge jackpot of $2 million on one day within those 5 years. Is the person a successful gambler? What if that person had no strategy at all but someone with a strategy does not hit the jackpot in 5 years and only wins $100,000 in total, ending up with a loss?

I don't buy the idea that successful gamblers should be seen as gambling addicts because a whole lot of successful gamblers are people who are very strategic with their gambling activities instead of constant gambling which is the primary attributes of gambling addicts
Addicted gamblers are even unlikely to become successful through gambling because of the fact that they mostly gamble because of the they ain't mentally strong to do other things apart from gambling. They engage in it without being careful of how and when to gamble.

Yes but did you get the point of the example I provided? When do you think is a gambler successful? And addicted gamblers can also be lucky and have some least amount of control over their activities and stay in profit. This debate has the problem that we differentiate between successful and unsuccessful gamblers without saying who is who. If a gambler strategically wins 300 out of 500 rounds, ending up with a profit is compared to a gambler who loses 499 out of 500 rounds but cracks the jackpot and is with millions in profit whereas the steady winner is slightly in profit, who is more successful?
