Good option, but I think the average person here doesn't work under a company that has a time contract, after I saw the results only a few people filled it, maybe it takes more time for them to voice it. In terms of work ethics, this is certainly a detrimental thing for the company, even if the worker has free time in the work session, it would be better to use it to do other things.

I'd like to share my experience with you all. Even though I'm not currently employed, I went through a phase of gambling while I was working in the past, and the outcome wasn't positive.

Personally I have come to realise that to give yourself a winning chance you don't need a divided mind that is invested in doing worked related stuff and your money making hustle all at the same time, besides in some work places this is considered stealing company time  and can call for disciplinary action if you are a repeat offender.

It affected my job performance because, as you may know, when you lose, you tend to dwell on your losses and constantly think about strategies to win.

Losing is never a fun thing and worseoff something that hurts your financial well-being will always mess up your emotions and psychology and pretty much change your mood from good to bad in an instant.

I'd like to hear from those of you who have experienced this or are still dealing with it. Please share your testimonies.

Best remedy is gamble when you have time to yourself and if gambling can wait , play your games over the weekend when you are relaxed and all.

Personally, I don't allow extra activities to affect my working hours. First,  it's very bad for me to engage in anything that's not in line with my employment contract, as the management has the right to fire you without pay for that very month. I was served a query by my senior colleague back then after just seeing me reading something on the internet about a crypto project.
 
I don't gamble at work, but I have seen people who do that, and it doesn't end well with them. A few of the people who actually engage in such activities that I know are the owners of their work place, so they don't have to go through any form of query, but it affects their business as their focus is not entirely on what they are out to do but on how to win a game, or their mood and emotion are not based on what they have just recently lost and what they could have won. Gambling at work is not good and is something any responsible person should avoid.

I do not really have a problem gambling from work because I have everything well planned out. It does not interfere with my job in any way whatsoever... I spend less than 30 minutes predicting and placing my bets. Although this is possible because of the nature of my job that requires I am on my computer with internet access always.

Gambling to me is just a sides hustle to compliment what I do. I don't plan with gambling money neither am I desperate to win. So to me it is fine gambling from work.

But you have to remember that even though you can plan it well, you can experience changes to your plan because we are only humans who can experience mood changes. It can cause us to deviate from the plans we have made. But hopefully, you will stick to your plan so that you don't experience any problems if you continue to gamble while you work. Your attention will be focused on the wrong things, and losing money, which is the most likely scenario, will simply compound the negatives feelings.

Losing the job is a more serious consequence of this action because getting another job won't be easy. When you leave your job or get fired, it becomes difficult to get a new job because having a recommendation letter with good words about you can actually make other companies think about recruiting you, but when your recommendation letter says that you are not reliable since you used to gamble during working hours and used to waste a lot of time on that, the next companies will barely think of hiring you.

So, one should think about it more critically than they are right now if they are actually gambling at work because that's not a very good idea. I think at least in the life of the gambler, we have experienced this kind of phase in our lives. For me when I was working still in a office environment, there were one casino that is close to us, newly built that time. So me and my friends will try to sneak out and then go to that casino and play. In the beginning it was fun, but when you start to lose big money, then the problem arises. Specially when it's payday, you received your paycheck and the first thing you do is go and play and everything you work for that 2 weeks is gone in an instant. And then you are mentally not stable, your performances are affected in the office. And then there are days that I will call in sick after a big lost. So not really healthy financially and emotionally. However, that was before, I already learn to prioritized things like putting food in the table for my family. Although I still play in land based casinos and online, it's not like before when I was really that addicted and out of control.

Your experience as narrated is in nexus to a scene I witness about a year ago in an in land casino house, a young man in a gray color suit with an office box he was holding gambled till his last penny and had to continue gambling on credit after losing all of the money he hand in account. I have had more worse stories than this but I don't why in spite of how I gamble  I haven't found myself in any of these shoes and that might be because I never stop to recognize the difference between money meant for gambling and money for other purposes in my life. I'm feeling nostalgic with your story, it is bringing back some memory of some hardship I ones had back in the days. It's not easy to be a man but again, we must do everything legitimately to survive. From my days of gambling, I have had an adaptation of gambling to be a place where you will lose more money than what you are going to win, this is nothing but the truth. The percentage of people that win more money than what the actually lose are less than 1 percent in gambling.

With this orientation in mind, I don't make mistake of placing more than what will bite me. Depends on how the situation would really be that severe in terms of engagement with gambling yet there are still people who would really be able to retain their control despite of playing while at work on which they could really be still able to do their job and able to play at the same time whenever they do have the opportunity. Not all people who do play gambling at work would definitely be ending up on losing their job. It would really be always that depend on how you would really be making those actions because if you dont make out such control and discipline towards yourself and werent really that sensible on what actions you would really be making
then pretty sure you would really beending up on having that kind of problem on which it isnt really that something that you could be able to avoid if you do tolerate your addiction.

I have sure experienced the same scenario you shared, but i am fortunate enough not to be dealing with that anymore.
For me, when i was working and was fond of gambling while at work, both my losses and winnings in gambling affected my work productivity negatively. You might want to ask me how?, now here is how.

Losses made me feel very bad, and this causes me to give more attention to gambling than I do to my work, this more attention given to gambling is to see if I can some of the money I lost back, or possibly all of it and profit as well, this negatively affects my productivity as it causes me not to meet the target set for me by the company, not to talk of meeting the target I set for myself.

Now, talking about winnings, winnings also affected my work productivity negatively because whenever I won, I become less committed to my work, I work for money, right? yeah, when I get that money through winning in gambling, i completely lose interest in my work, I begin to absent myself from work for actually no reason, and this for sure negatively affects my productivity, which often leads to the company cutting down my salary significantly due to lots of missed target and several days absent from work.

I do online gambling while at work however I made sure to now affect my record or my productivity while working.  There are times where you'll have a lot of free time at work to do other things and online gambling is my choice to use those free time.However, critical situations like urgent matter that needs my full attention, then I focus on work.
