Bayern Munich will qualify for the round of 16 with a win against Benfica today, but it is not yet certain who their next opponent will be. And if Benfica cannot win this match, they will be able to qualify for the next round because they have a lot of goals. The weakest team in Group C is Auckland City. If a miracle doesn't happen in Group C, the teams that will advance to the next round are clear: Bayern Munich and Benfica.

In Group D, ES Tunis - Chelsea match is important, a draw is enough for Chelsea to advance to the next round.
ES Tunis definitely needs to win if they want to advance to the next round.

Honestly, it’s really interesting. I expected more from the european teams, but we ended up with a very competitive tournament. The biggest surprise for me was Inter Miami. Even though players like Suarez, Messi, and the rest are well past their prime, they’re like fine wine getting better with age. Yes, Atletico got eliminated because of goal difference, and that really surprised me. So far, Bayern is my favorite they’ve shown the most desire and quality in my opinion, but there’s still a lot of football left to play.

Enzo Maresca and complaints are 5&6, the other day he also complained that Chelsea not having enough fans affected their performance, I think that was after their first match. He is just making excuses for himself. Chelsea team has been going to the US for pre season tours in the past and I haven't heard them complaining about harsh weather. Chelsea are not the only team playing in the tournament that weather is affecting, the Man should stop making excuses and his job. Harsh weather should not be blamed for the poor performance of his team. Only failures give excuses!!

Eight teams already qualified for the round of 16. We have so many big clubs from european on the list. Meanwhile, the total of EU clubs may increase as we have still some to play their games soon.
We have Chelsea and Madrid that may add more numbers to the total of qualified teams from EU. I also feel sad how Porto and ATM don't make it.

However, it's good to see that we have balanced numbers there. We have 4 americans and 4 european.

Looking at the logo of the club called Botafogo RJ, the feeling of pity arises for Atletico Madrid who failed despite winning yesterday before the game was about to end.
A very reasonable mistake was when Atletico Madrid had to lose with a score of 4-0 against PSG, damaging Atletico Madrid's goal margin. Atletico Madrid's chances actually still exist on the condition that they cannot win by a score of 1 or 2, but in reality yesterday, the victory was only obtained before the match was about to end.
Congratulations to the teams that have secured a place in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16.

Atletico could qualify if they were not losing 4 goals to the PSG. It's the reason why they being placed at the third place as they have less GD than Botafogo. Their performance is always up and down, and always disastrous to watch.
The positive is that their season is over, and they can take rest for two months.  

However, it's enough to telling us how they will trophyless again with that kind of performance.

Atletico Madrid were really difficult to understand. Their performance wasn't good enough for the whole game. I couldn't count how many big chances they wasted.

Barely scoring the winner wasn't enough for them of course. Because you know, head-to-head games are the first tiebreaker in case of a tie on points. They messed up quite a lot.  


By the way I wish I watched Porto - Al-Ahli last night. It ended 4-4.    It seems like Porto were still not that good as their opponent got ahead 4 times.

European clubs are complaining that there are too many games per season. In my opinion, the problem is that they want to play every game with the same players. The squads need to get bigger and give more players opportunities. If they really start rotating more players in games, there won't be this generalized fatigue.

Clubs need to have 11 players + 7 substitutes. These are players who cost the club a lot of money. If they had a B team with 11 players + 7 substitutes, then the club would go bankrupt, and no player would accept going to the B team, so the players in the B team would be the least skilled players.

The one who is wrong is FIFA, which keeps inventing so many competitions, such as the Nations League, when it knows that in the European leagues there are many cups and there are also league games. For example, in England, they have the Premier League, the FA Cup, and then there are more cups and the teams must also play in the European Champions League or the Europa League or the Conference League.

And when it's holiday time, FIFA invents this competition, the players need to rest.

Atletico Madrid were really difficult to understand. Their performance wasn't good enough for the whole game. I couldn't count how many big chances they wasted.

We might want to call it hard luck but damned, these guys waisted several chances despite knowing what’s at stake. The few times they got into contact with the ball, a cross right in front of goal, they did put it off target. Other times, the ball just went across without any contact! For a team that needed 3 goals to qualify against a not so strong Botafogo.

They just weren’t ready to qualify in this game else, taking 2 out od those many chances they created wasn’t a very difficult to archive mile. Good thing Griezman finally decode the defense line and fall all the way back to get that goal but, it was a race against time that they no longer had.

Who would have thought that Athletico Madrid won't be qualifying that Group B with PSG. I least expected them to be eliminated in the group stage of this tournament since the toughest opponent was just PSG. Kudos to Botofago. I look to see them beating Palmares in the next round. Meanwhile, I can't wait to see Lionel Messi face his former teammates when  Inter Miami faces PSG. It's going to to be an interesting setpiece of a game to watch. Tougher matches are now unfolding in this club world cup unlike when it initially started, was so boring.

 Is really laughable to always hear him complain as if he is the only manager in the competition, even without the harsh weather he'll still have something to talk about let it be that he is observant of the whole situation. I think he should go back and work with Pep for at least 25 years because if he calls this a mind game then he is a joker, he needs to go and learn how to do it the way Pep does, like why can't he just endure like every other managers and play his game?
 This game doesn't need any weak performance and if Enzo thinks the weather is too hard for him and his boys they should just lose and go back to England and start making preparations for next season. Sometimes I feel this man need attention from the media if not why would he speak like it wasn't a privilege for him to be in this tournament, I believe there are clubs who would do anything to be in this tournament.

By the way I wish I watched Porto - Al-Ahli last night. It ended 4-4.    It seems like Porto were still not that good as their opponent got ahead 4 times.

I watched the Porto and Al-Ahli, it was nothing like we saw a day ago because this was the most challenging one and even the both side felt it and what help them both was the determination of nonfailure on that match so even if Porto was being scored against but they still find a way round to equalize, so the opportunity Porto was looking for didn't come for them till the end of match because since Al-Ahli has been the first making them to conceived but porto wanted to take a first score between one of those goals so that they could lock up for Al-Ahli but the chance was never giving and it remain from how it was when Al-Ahli started scoring till the last minute.

Anyone will definitely look forward to this match to see Bayern Munich win. Bayern motivation after passing a great season before providing inspiration for squad to look as best they can.
Things that look convincing like this are usually full of surprises do not mean doubting any team but Bayern will win with resistance from Benfica.

All matches in Group B are now concluded. PSG and Botafogo are through, and Atletico and Seattle are out.
You cannot not feel sorry for Atletico. They did what they could and defeated Botafogo 1-0 today, but it wasn't enough and they will be dropping out because of the goal difference. It's a shame, but that's just the way it is.
After unexpectedly losing to Botafogo in the second match, PSG's today's performance was a bit of a question mark, but they didn't have any problems winning against Seattle (2-0) and controlled the game throughout.

I would like to congratulate Botafogo and PSG for qualifying for the last 16 and indeed they deserve to advance to the last 16 because both clubs have good games and good techniques. but yes it is very unfortunate that Atletico Madrid did not qualify for the last 16 because Atletico Madrid conceded too many goals which ultimately made Atletico Madrid's goal difference with Botafogo superior to Botafogo. of course now Diego Simeone's troops must be willing if they do not advance to the last 16 and now their struggle in the inter-club world cup is enough here.

but yes most people think that PSG and Atletico Madrid will advance to the last 16 but yes this is football which is of course always full of surprises. yes today PSG really ended their match well and controlled a lot of the ball against Seattle and Kvaratskhelia and Hakimi scored goals in that match and fortunately in that match I bet on PSG's victory. It seems that PSG and Botafogo must now be prepared because of course the opposing teams they will face in the last 16 are certainly very strong teams. and of course now PSG and Botafogo fans must be very happy because they see the teams they support successfully advance to the last 16.

PSG currently leading two goals to nil, I think there is no hope for a comeback Seattle Sounders. I think in this group the most underpressurized team is ATM at the moment, they need to win tonight in order to move to the next round and currently their game is still nil - nil in the 76 mins+ of the game.

The PSG and Seattle Sounders match ended with that 2 goals from PSG and now both Sounders and ATM have been eliminated from the the tournament, even though ATM won Botofago 1 nil at the full-time, they still got eliminated by goal margin which Botofago where ahead of them in numbers. Now PSG and Botofago qualified to the next phase and would be facing Inter Miami and Plamares, respectively.

Inter Miami missed the victory with the effective play of Suarez and Messi.

Inter Miami was leading 2-0 until the last 15 minutes of the match, but conceded 2 goals in the last 10 minutes and tied the match 2-2, but still managed to advance to the next round.

In the other match of the group, Porto and El Ahly tied 4-4 and both said goodbye to the tournament. Even if Porto won, they would have 4 points and would be eliminated again, but the side that missed the victory in that match was the Egyptian Team El Ahly.

Palestinian forward Abou Ali attracted attention by scoring three goals.

Botafogo was really lucky because they were still able to qualify for the last 16 even though they lost their last match to Atletico Madrid. And Atletico Madrid are unlucky because they still failed to qualify for the round of 16 even though they won their last match. All of this is because Atletico Madrid conceded too many goals in the early matches at the Club World Cup which made Botafogo still superior to Atletico Madrid.

PSG will face Inter Miami and it won't be easy. But PSG have shown that they are a strong team. So I'm sure there will still be many people who are favorites for them in the round of 16.

Bayern and Benfica, no matter what the result, it seems like both will progress to the round of 16. But Benfica could also fail if Benfica loses without being able to score a goal in the match against Bayern, and Boca Juniors can beat Auckland City with a total of 8 goals. Without conceding. But it seems almost impossible. So I think Benfica and Bayern will qualify for the round of 16 without a doubt.

Had Inter Miami not conceded the last goal and finished top of the group, they would have been paired with Botafogo. But the match ended in a draw and they finished second in the group and were paired with PSG. They have a very difficult opponent. It's sure to be an interesting experience for Messi. But there is such a huge difference in quality between the two teams that it's highly unlikely that Inter Miami will reach the quarter final, even if they have Messi. Of course, nothing is certain. I think it will definitely be a match worth watching. I won't miss it.

It was really easy for Inter Miami and Palmeiras to secure their tickets for playoffs.    Because Porto were once again below the expectations. Not only in offense maybe but in defense surely.

2 European teams are already out of the competition during group stage. This number might increase depending on some other teams on the upcoming days.

So far Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester City are the ones I've liked the most.
