Who would have thought that Athletico Madrid won't be qualifying that Group B with PSG. I least expected them to be eliminated in the group stage of this tournament since the toughest opponent was just PSG. Kudos to Botofago. I look to see them beating Palmares in the next round. Time to laugh at Simeone. I can't remember the last time Atletico looked like a team that was improving. If you don't count the temporary improvements like at the start of last season, but only against the background of previous declines.

I believe Bayern are facing the heat in this game on like the game they played against Auckland City, in their first game many was saying they are back which I don't think they are, 10nil to one of the weakest team (Auckland City) in this competition and now they couldn't break the defense of Benfica at least for now. On paper Bayern Munich are the favorite but on the pitch we are seeing something different and I like it this way, Benfica are really taking their time to enjoy the game with the 1nil lead, just hope they don't forget defend and attack at the same time in the second half because if Bayern Munich should have a clear chance to score the pressure will be in Benfica.

Is so funny how we over hype these big clubs and also thought the bigger teams will dominate this competition and even the group but things always goes the other way, that's football. Bayern Munich playing with their B team against Benfica or not, it still doesn't change the fact that they are not back to their real self that we all know. I wasn't expecting Benfica to even have that confidence of getting the job done in this encounter because judging from the first game we saw how both teams manage to end their game, it was as if Bayern will end the other 3 teams after winning 10nil in their first game but they felt relaxed in the remaining 2 games and that's why Benfica had to take control of this very game. If not that Boca Juniors are far behind and if Bayern Munich lose and Boca wins it will be Bayern Munich to be eliminated, if it were so I think Bayern would have done anything to get this win tonight and I have to say that they are lucky to still be in this competition.

I have the hope that Bayern Munich will score a goal even though they haven’t gotten any shots on target yet, but there is a hope that they will be able to meet up either in the first half or the second, but I still have much hope for Bayern Munich, more than for Benfica. Although it is just a game, we might end up seeing Benfica winning the game with this 1 goal from the first 15 minutes of the start of the game.

Tonight is a simple demonstration of the fact that you need a combination of skill and luck to win matches sometimes. There was nothing Bayern Munic did not do to score yet they did not see the back of the net. The frustrating one being the goal of Joshua Kimmich 61st minute goal that was disallowed as offside. Bayern Munic missed countless opportunities, several one-on-one with the goalkeeper and many shots including headers that were saved by the Benfica goalkeeper. I had the feeling that Benfica would win at least either half but I did not have the courage to bet money on it.

Agreed to the missed opportunities but not to the hot weather, they actually played well and dominated almost 80% of today possessions they were just unlucky , the offsides and dissallowed goal was part.

Al ahly crashed out of this competition after playing a 4:4 trailer with fc Porto to me all Ahly performance was impressive even though they are out of the competition they gave a good account of them self because drawing two matches and losing one is not a bad performance for me maybe next time they will improve on this performance

Many questions need to be asked here. After Benfica scored in the first 15 minutes, they had more chances but couldn't utilize them. The game was super dull until the second half started. It became more annoying to watch when Bayer Munich kept on missing their chances too. One question I keep asking myself is that Bayern Munich wants Benfica to qualify because they have qualified already even if they lose the game. It's obvious they were trying to help Benfica out.

It is not a surprise to sell that almost all the European teams are qualifying for the round of 16. I don't know how the arrangement is, but if it is in such a manner that European teams will not have to cancel one another, we are definitely going to see all European clubs finals. This is what is expected and they are supposed to dominate the club world cup.

I have checked and there is no African clubs. I know that Sundowns of SA are strong side. I don't know if any African club will be able to make it to the round of 16

The scoreline is quit impressive who would believe that a team like Ahly would pressure an experienced top Portuguese team, though they're out but they gave their best and it's okay, it's better than not trying at all, atleast they've Porto that a minor league team can face a team's from big leagues and pressure them, even score four goals.

 Well, I don't know if Ahly would qualified for the tournament again but in case they do I expect an improvement cause they would've learnt from this experience and come back more prepared than this, maybe with a more improved squad.
